Opis:
Surface pre-treatment is one of the most important steps before applying the final surface treatment. These pre-treatments, like phosphating, alkaline degreasing, pickling in acids, is used to remove impurities from the surface of the base material and to create appropriate conditions for adhesion of the final coating (metal coatings, organic coatings). Currently are on the rise surface treatments technologies, which are based on nanotechnology. It's a new generation of chemical products for the chemical surface preparation. This paper deals with the evaluation of microstructure of painted sheet metal after corrosion load with salt spray in the corrosion chamber. Metal sheets used for the experiment have been produced from low-carbon non alloy steel. For pre-treatment of the sheet metal was used alkaline degreasing (CC), iron phosphating (Feph) and nanotechnology based product Alfipas (Zr) in combinations: group A - CC + Zr, group B - Feph + Zr and group C - CC + Feph + Zr. The aim of this paper is to analyze the behavior of painted sheet metal after corrosion load and evaluate the effect of pretreatment to resistance of painted surface layer.

The article deals with the effect on the quality of casting moulds (metal, bentonite mixture) on the structure of the alloy AlZn5,5MgCu and selected mechanical properties of the alloy. The effect of foundry moulds can significantly affect formation and range of crystal segregation and the subsequent thermal process of homogenization which has an influence on the final quality of the alloy. The research focuses on the formation and range of crystal segregation and its removal with homogenization annealing, in which the observed influence of individual factors influencing the diffusion process and quality of the aluminium alloy.

This paper deal with the evaluation of quality of lacquered sheets with different pre-treatments after corrosive loading. Samples will be divided into groups according to the type and duration corrosion loadings. After exposure to corrosive salt mist corrosion chamber, the samples will be evaluated macroscopically according to relevant standards. Low degradation after all time corrosion load was on the sample pre-treated with an alkaline degreasing in combination with a yellow chromating and the samples pre-treated with an alkaline degreasing in combination with surface passivation. On these samples showed no loss of adhesion to the base material and the evaluation of delamination due to corrosion during loading had a low degree of degradation. Surfaces after the cross-cut test did not for both sets of samples after corrosion load all times no defects in the adhesion layer.

In the course of homogenizing annealing of aluminium alloys being cast continually or semi-continually it appears that chemical inhomogenity takes off within separate dendritic cells (crystal segregation). It is about a diffusion process that takes place at the temperature which approaches the liquid temperature of the material. In that process the transition of soluble intermetallic compounds and eutectic to solid solution occurs and it suppresses crystal segregation significantly [1]. The temperature, homogenization time, the size of dendritic cells and diffusion length influences homogenizing process. The article explores the optimization of homogenizing process in terms of its time and homogenizing annealing temperature which influence mechanical properties of AlZn5,5Mg2,5Cu1,5 alloy.

This paper deals with the evaluation of the corrosion resistance of the Al-Si alloys alloyed with the different amount of antimony. Specifically it goes about the alloy AlSi7Mg 0,3 which is antimony alloyed in the concentrations 0; 0,001; 0,005; 0,01 a 0,05 wt. % of antimony. The introduction of the paper is dedicated to the theory of the aluminium alloys corrosion resistance, testing and evaluation of the corrosion resistance. The influence of the antimony to the Al-Si alloys properties is described further in the introduction. The experimental part describes the experimental samples which were prepared for the experiment and further they were exposed to the loading in the atmospheric conditions for a period of the 3 months. The experimental samples were evaluated macroscopically and microscopically. The results of the experiment were documented and the conclusions in terms of the antimony impact to the corrosion resistance of the Al-Si alloy were concluded. There was compared the corrosion resistance of the Al-Si alloy antimony alloyed (with the different antimony content) with the results of the Al-Si alloy without the alloying after the corrosion load in the atmospheric conditions in the experiment.

The aim of the research was to evaluate influence of porosity size on mechanical properties of AlSi7Mg0.3 (EN AC 42 100) alloy before and after thermal treatment. The castings from the same production type (forms used for tires production) were used for the analysis. They were casted using low-pressure casting technology. Since the negative influence of porosity on mechanical properties of Al alloys is generally known that there is no quantitative assessment. The relation of porosity size in the structure of AlSi7Mg0.3 alloy and its mechanical properties is verified and quantified in this research. Static tensile testing has proven the relation between porosity size in a structure of an Al material and its mechanical properties. The image analysis was applied in quantitative measurement of the porosity. The measurement was performed on prepared metallographic specimens. Porosity size is considered as a fraction of pore area to the total area of the analyzed specimen and is taken in percentage. As far as the theoretical part of the issue the possible causes of porosity formation and its influence on particular Al alloy types are described [1, 2, 3].

The research described in this contribution is focused on fractographic analysis of the fracture area of newly developed eutectic silumin type AlSi9NiCuMg0.5 (AA 4032), which was developed and patented by a team of staff of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The paper presents determination of the cause of casting cracks in operating conditions. Fractographic analysis of the fracture area, identification of the structure of the casting, identification of structural components on the surface of the fracture surface and chemical analysis of the material in the area of refraction were performed within the experiment. Al-Si alloys with high specific strength, low density, and good castability are widely used in pressure-molded components for the automotive and aerospace industries. The results shown that the inter-media phases Fe-Al and Fe-Si in aluminium alloys lead to breakage across the entire casting section and a crack that crossed the entire cross section, which was confirmed by EDS analysis.

This paper reports the preparation and characterization of thin transparent nanolayers with phase composition ZrF4 and different modification of SiO2 with special focus on affecting the surface roughness of the material and the way of exclusion of the thin nanolayer on the surface of the polished aluminium material. The thin nanolayer was prepared by the sol-gel method. The final treatment based on PTFE was applied on the surface of some samples. This treatment is suitable for increasing wear resistance. The films were characterized with help of SEM microscopy and EDS analysis. The surface roughness was measured with classical surface roughness tester. The results on this theme have already published but not on the polished surface of the aluminium material. The results from the experiment show the problems with application of these nanolayers because a cracks were found on the surface of the material and deformations of the layer after application of the PTFE final layer. The surface layer formation is discussed.

Alkylphenols and their precursors, alkylphenol etoxylates, are a group of manmade chemicals used mainly as surfactants in domestic and industrial applications worldwide. It has been well established that they have endocrine disruption activity, hepatotoxic, genotoxic and other negative effects on animal and human health. In spite of the effort to reduce their use, they persist in the environment not only in industrial but also in remote regions, and were detected in the variety of natural matrices including air, water, soil as well as food products, and human blood and urine worldwide. This article summarizes their occurrence, fate in natural conditions, and toxicity including mode of action. A subject of our concern was the aquatic environment as the most important reservoir and target of their deleterious impact.

Late Cretaceous plants from the North Sudetic Basin (Lower Silesia, south-western Poland) are reviewed on the basis of megaflora from 17 localities (270 identifiable specimens), mesoflora from two localities, and microflora from four localities. Major sites are Rakowice Małe and Bolesławiec. Eight megafloral assemblages are distinguished (Assemblage 1, Turonian; Assemblages 2, 3, lower–middle Coniacian; Assemblages 4, 5, upper Coniacian?–lower Santonian?; Assemblages 6–8, lower–middle Santonian); the bulk of the palaeoflora is from Assemblages 4–6 and 8. Megaflora consists of 29 taxa (6 ferns, 4 conifers, and 19 angiosperms). Geinitzia reichenbachii is the most common species. Dryophyllum westerhausianum (Richter, 1904) Halamski and Kvaček comb. nov. is a trifoliolate leaf re-interpreted as a representative of Fagales. Three species of Dewalquea are distinguished: Dewalquea haldemiana, Dewalquea insignis, and Dewalquea aff. gelindenensis. Platanites willigeri Halamski and Kvaček sp. nov. is characterised by trifoliolate leaves, the median leaflet of which is ovate, unlobed, with a serrate margin, and cuneate base. Palaeocommunities inferred from the megafossil record include: a back swamp forest dominated by Geinitzia, with abundant ferns; a Dryophyllum-dominated riparian forest; a forest with Dewalquea and Platanites willigeri possibly located in the marginal part of the alluvial plain; dunes with D. haldemiana and Konijnenburgia; a fern savanna with patches of Pinus woodlands. Palynoassemblage A from the Nowogrodziec Member, studied mostly at Rakowice Małe and Żeliszów, consists of 126 taxa, including 105 terrestrial palynomorphs (54 bryophyte, lycophyte, and pteridophyte spores, 16 gymnosperms, 35 angiosperms). The mega- and mesofossil records are dominated by angiosperms; the palynoassemblages are dominated by ferns. Palaeocommunities represented solely by the microfossil record are halophytic (with Frenelopsis and unconfirmed presence of Nypa) and pioneer vegetation. Palaeocommunities are intermediate in general character between those pre-dating the Cretaceous Terrestrial Revolution and modern, angiosperm- dominated vegetation. In comparison to older plant assemblages from contiguous areas laurophylls are much rarer; this might correspond to a real phenomenon of exclusion of lauroids from Santonian riparian forests. The studied assemblage is more similar to younger palaeofloras than to older ones; this might be interpreted as stabilisation of communities after a period of pronounced change related to the rise to dominance of the angiosperms. In contrast to widespread endemism among vertebrates of the European Archipelago, the plant cover consists mostly of species that are widely distributed.

This work is focused on the creep behaviour of the thick-walled hot bended P92 pipe, with an outer diameter of 350 mm and wall thickness of 39 mm, in its different parts, namely in straight parts and bends. Selected creep specimens machined from axial section of pipe were thermally aged at 650°C to simulate microstructure degradation typical for long-term service conditions. Subsequent tensile creep tests at constant load were performed at 600°C under 140 MPa and creep behaviour of various structure states was compared. Microstructure was investigated by scanning electron microscopy equipped with electron backscatter diffraction. It was found that ageing at 650°C for 10⁴ h caused the significant reduction of creep resistance down to about 10% of initial state and an additional slight reduction of creep resistance after longer ageing for 2×10⁴ h. Further, creep behaviour was significantly influenced by specimen position in the extrados and intrados parts of bends. Microstructure investigation revealed that long-term annealing has negligible effect on high-angle grain boundary spacing and misorientation. By contrast, creep deformation of long-term annealed specimens led to significant decreasing in high-angle grain boundary spacing and caused a change in the misorientation distribution of boundaries.

Effects of a high terbuthylazine concentration (3.3 mg/l) on Cyprinus carpio were studied using a commercial herbicide formulation Click 500 SC (terbuthylazine 500 g/l). The fish were exposed to the pesticide for 24 h and allowed to recover for 6 days. Biometric parameters, plasma biochemical parameters and biomarkers of oxidative stress as well as histopathological changes in selected tissues were assessed on day 1 and 7. After a 24-h exposure, there were significant alterations found in the activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) as well as in the plasma concentrations of glucose, natrium, chlorides, calcium and phosphorus. Hepatosomatic index, plasma albumin and lactate reflected the treatment with a delay. Ion levels and ALT were found to be restored after a 6-day recovery period, which was too short for AST activity and glucose to diminish to the control levels. The histopathological examination revealed disorders in the gills of the exposed fish, however, the changes were not detected after a 6-day recovery period. The study shows high regeneration potential of the fish.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of subchronic exposure to atrazine on fish growth and the development of histopathological changes in selected organs (gill, kidney, liver) in Danio rerio. Juvenile growth tests were performed on D. rerio according to OECD method No. 215. For 28 days, fish at an initial age of 30 days were exposed to the environmental atrazine concentration commonly detected in Czech rivers (0.3 μg/L) and a range of sublethal concentrations of atrazine (3.0, 30.0 and 90.0 μg/L). The results showed decreasing growth rates and morphological changes in the liver (dystrophic lesions of hepatocytes) at 90.0 μg/L of atrazine. The environmental concentration of atrazine in Czech rivers did not have any effect on fish growth and development of histopathological changes in D. rerio. The value of NOEC was 30.0 μg/L and the value of LOEC was 90.0 μg/L.
