The aim of this research is to study accumulation of Chromium along with nutrients and its effect on the growth of Paddy plant (Oryza sativa L). Thus, paddy seedlings grown in petriplates lined with filter paper undergoing, different treatments of Cr (0, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 200 mg/L). After one week seedlings were removed and morphological parameters like root length, shoot length and dry weight of plants and accumulation of nutrients along with Cr content were determined. The results indicated that the concentrations more than 100 mg/L chromium cause the reduction of morphological parameters in the treatment plants rather than control plant and Cr addition in the cultures caused enhancement of chromium content paddy seedlings. Similarly nutrient accumulation also affected by increasing concentrations of chromium.

Increasing concentrations of chromium caused reduction in growth, chlorophyll contents and mineral mutrients of bhendhi. At increasing concentrations of chromium, all the attributes were found to be reduced. Chromium is one of the toxic elements discharging from tannery industry. The long disposal of tannery effluent to the agricultural land causes serious damages in the soil texture; reduce the growth of microorganisms and agricultural crops. Large areas of Vellore district of Tamilnadu was seriously affected by the tannery effluent irrigation to the agricultural land. The present study was conducted to identify the phytotoxic effect and physiological changes of Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench under the treatment of different concentrations of chromium solutions (2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mg/l). The result shows that there was a gradual reduction in the morphological parameters (root length, shoot length, fresh weight and dry weight). Similarly the photosynthetic pigments (Chlorophyll and carotenoid) and biochemical parameters such as protein, amino acid, and sugars were also gradually decreased with increasing concentrations of chromium.

Opis:
Green revolution increased the food production enormously to feed the geometrically growing population. In India, the availability and affordability of fossil fuel based chemical fertilizers at the farm level have been ensured only through imports and subsidies. Dependence on chemical fertilizers for future agricultural growth would mean further loss in soil quality. The possibilities of water contamination and unsustainable burden of the fiscal system. The Government of India has been trying to promote an improved practice involving use of biofertilizers along with fertilizers. These inputs have multiple beneficial impacts on the soil and can be relatively cheap and convenient for use. The agricultural chemicals like pesticide and weedicides were being used to save the standing crop from the attack of pests and to boost crop production. At the same time the excess use of chemical fertilizers degraded the soil properties. In this context, the farmers are expecting for the cheapest and eco-friendly alternative for getting higher yield. Biofertilizers is only the alternative way to get more production without harmful to environment. So the effect of different doses of biofertilizer (Rhizobium) on germination studies of Fenu-greek seed germination percentage, seedling growth, fresh weight and dry weight, chlorophyll, protein and soluble sugar content has been studied in the laboratory condition. There parameters increased to application when biofertilizer compared to control.

Opis:
Effects of heavy metals on plants result in growth inhibition, structure damage, a decline of physiological and biochemical activities as well as of the function of plants. The effects and bioavailability of heavy metals depend on many factors, such as environmental conditions, pH, and species of element, organic substances of the media and fertilization, plant species. But, there are also studies on plant resistance mechanisms to protect plants against the toxic effects of heavy metals. The microorganisms act in synergism with the plants for effective phytoremediation. This synergistic relationship promotes the exchange of water and nutrients established between plant roots and specialized soil microorganisms thus, enhancing the plant growth. The application of microorganisms in phytoremediation helps to improve plant growth and survival rate. The microbial activity in the contaminated site acts as an indicator for the plant growth and bioremediation. So an attempt were made on the toxic effects of chromium in paddy plants growth and yield and thereby mitigating its toxicity by using microbial inoculants especially Azospirillum.

Biofertilizers are becoming increasingly popular in many countries and for many crops, but very few studies on their effect on growth in seedling stage have been conducted in rice. The experiments were conducted under laboratory conditions due to organic manure, fertilizers and bio fertilizers were observed in all experiments. The treatments such as organic manure, chemical fertilizers and Biofertilizers alone and in combination were applied. The growth parameters viz. germination percentage, root length, shoot length, fresh weight and dry weight were measured. Similarly the pigment contents such as chlorophyll-a, b, total chlorophyll and carotenoid were also measured at seventh day after sowing. All the parameters were higher in combined application of Biofertilizers than in single application and other treatments including control.

Opis:
High burning rate propellant compositions are generally used in gas generators to eject missile from canister. Because of high burning rate, pressure index of the composition increases during burning. To reduce the pressure index, a high burning rate composite propellant formulations (~20 mm/s) based on AP/HTPB/Al have been prepared by incorporating TATB and studied in detail for viscosity build-up, thermal and mechanical properties, sensitivity as well as burning rate and pressure index (n). The data indicate that there is a decrease in end of mix viscosity on increasing the percentage of TATB. The same trend was also observed with mechanical properties while significant improvement in overall thermal stability was clearly observed. The sensitivity data indicate that impact and friction values show decreasing trend infer better safe to handle. The burn rate data reveal that on addition of TATB from 0.5 to 2% decrease in burning rate was not observed while on addition of further TATB up to 5% and beyond this significant decrease in burning rate was observed. The data on pressure index (n) also reveal that TATB is very effective in reducing the 'n' value up to 2% and beyond this 'n' value increases close to standard composition. The data on 'n' value reveal that it reduces from 0.47 to that of standard composition to 0.36 for the compositions containing TATB up to 2.0% in the pressure range of 60-90 kg/cm2.
