Opis:
The research is devoted to the problem of determining the efficiency of the workpiece fixing mechanism operation. Improving characteristics of workpiece fixing is one of the required conditions to increase the cutting modes, which may help to enhance the machining productivity. The study investigates the main characteristics and general features of a new structure of clamping mechanisms with electromechanical actuators for fixation of rotation bodies. The main advantages of using electromechanical clamping actuators with self-braking gear are presented. Two simplified dynamical models for the description of different stages of the clamping process are developed. The calculation scheme was formulated to find out how the mass-geometric parameters of mechanism elements should influence the main characteristics of the clamping mechanisms of this type.

Opis:
The paper presents a novel approach for the analysis of steady-state heat conduction of solids containing perfectly conductive thread-like inhomogeneities. Modelling of a thread-like heat conductive inhomogeneity is reduced to determination of density of heat distributed along a spatial curve, which replaces the inclusion. Corresponding boundary integral equations are obtained for anisotropic solids with thread-like inclusions. Non-integral terms are computed in a closed form. It is shown that, nevertheless the singularity of the equation is 1/r, it is hypersingular, since the kernel is symmetric. Boundary element approach is adopted for solution of the obtained equations. Numerical example is presented for a rectilinear conductive thread, which verifies derived boundary integral equations.

Opis:
The influence of impulse load applied for different duration on the distribution of normalised dynamic radial stresses in positive and negative Poisson’s ratio medium was investigated in this study. For solving the non-stationary problem in the case of plane deformation for structurally inhomogeneous materials, the model of Cosserat continuum was applied. This model enables accounting for the influence of shear-rotation deformation of micro-particles of the medium. In the framework of Cosserat elasticity, on applying the Fourier transforms for time variable and developing the boundary integral equation method, solving of the non-stationary problem reduces to the system of singular integral equations, where the components that determine the influence of shear-rotation deformations are selected. The numerical calculations were performed for the foam medium with positive and negative Poisson’s ratio for different values of time duration of impulse. Developed approach can be used to predict the mechanical behaviour of foam auxetic materials obtained at different values of a volumetric compression ratio under the action of time variable load based on analysis of the dis-tribution of radial stresses in foam medium.

Opis:
This work studies the problem of thermomagnetoelectroelastic anisotropic bimaterial with imperfect high-temperature conducting coherent interface, whose components contain thin inclusions. Using the extended Stroh formalism and complex variable calculus, the Somigliana-type integral formulae and the corresponding boundary integral equations for the anisotropic thermomagnetoelectroelastic bimaterial with high-temperature conducting coherent interface are obtained. These integral equations are introduced into the modified boundary element approach. The numerical analysis of new problems is held and results are presented for single and multiple inclusions.

Opis:
The paper presents a rigorous and straightforward approach for obtaining the 2D boundary integral equations for a thermoelastic half-space containing holes, cracks and thin foreign inclusions. It starts from the Cauchy integral formula and the extended Stroh formalism which allows writing the general solution of thermoelastic problems in terms of certain analytic functions. In addition, with the help of it, it is possible to convert the volume integrals included in the equation into contour integrals, which, in turn, will allow the use of the method of boundary elements. For modelling of solids with thin inhomogeneities, a coupling principle for continua of different dimensions is used. Applying the theory of complex variable functions, in particular, Cauchy integral formula and Sokhotski–Plemelj formula, the Somigliana type boundary integral equations are constructed for thermoelastic anisotropic half-space. The obtained integral equations are introduced into the modified boundary element method. A numerical analysis of the influence of boundary conditions on the half-space boundary and relative rigidity of the thin inhomogeneity on the intensity of stresses at the inclusions is carried out.

Opis:
The bending problem of an infinite, piecewise homogeneous, isotropic plate with circular interfacial zone and two coaxial radial cracks is solved on the assumption of crack closure along a line on the plate surface. Using the theory of functions of a complex variable, complex potentials and a superposition of plane problem of the elasticity theory and plate bending problem, the solution is obtained in the form of a system of singular integral equations, which is numerically solved after reducing to a system of linear algebraic equations by the mechanical quadrature method. Numerical results are presented for the forces and moments intensity factors, contact forces between crack faces and critical load for various geometrical and mechanical task parameters.
