Nonhomogeneous Poisson processes are Poisson processes with parameters that depend on time and not constant from time to time, also mutually independent. In addition, the probability of no occurrence in the initial state is one and the probability of the n event in the initial state is zero. In this study, nonhomogeneous Poisson processes were applied to predict and count the number of earthquake events in Indonesia. Because earthquakes that occur in Indonesia from one month to the next do not affect each other and the numbers are not the same, by not paying attention to the geophysical cause of the earthquake. The data used in the study is the occurrence of earthquakes in Indonesia from January 2016 to July 2018, sourced from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency obtained online. The results were obtained that the odds of predicting dan counting the occurrence of earthquakes in Indonesia in the first week of December 2018 were around 184 times with a standard deviation of around 14 times.

The analysis of shoreline change trends is fundamental to a broad range of investigations undertaken by coastal scientists, coastal engineers, and coastal managers, as well as the government, in this case, the coastal development policy-maker. In order to know the changing of shoreline position around the coastal area of Kuala Terengganu, an analysis and then simulation of shoreline change was performed over, respectively, 2 years, 3 years and 4 years. In this simulation, the longshore distance was divided into 87 cells of length 34 m. Shoreline positions from satellite imagery in 2010 were used in this simulation as the initial condition. Based on the numerical result, both erosion (north side) and accretion (south side) occurred around the Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terengganu. The average erosion and accretion during the 4 year period is 42.93 m and 40.89 m, respectively.

A Fractional differential equation is an equation that contains derivatives with an order of fractional numbers. Same with natural number order differential equations, this type of equation is divided into linear and nonlinear fractional differential equations. One of the equations that include nonlinear fractional differential equation is Riccati fractional differential equation (RFDE). Various methods have been applied to find solutions for fractional differential equations Riccati, one of them is the Modified Homotopy Perturbation Method (MHPM) which is a modification of the Homotopy Perturbation Method by Zaid Odibat and Shaher Momani. In this study, the MHPM was used to find solutions for fractional differential equations Riccati, which were then used to analyze the convergence of the function sequences of the solution. The result shows us that the order sequence of Riccati fractional differential equation which converges to a number causes the solution function sequence of Riccati fractional differential equation will converge to the function of the solution of Riccati fractional differential equation with the order of this number.

The chlorophyll-a (chl) abundances on the Fisheries Management Area of Indonesia Republic (WPP-RI 572), as fishery resources over the western coast of Sumatera (WSC) and Sunda Strait, were examined in this study. The extensive investigation on the mechanism ocean dynamics on chl variability along WSC was observed by using remotely sensed data on the surface. The spatial analysis was conducted using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Aqua Ocean colour data for a period of January 2003 to December 2015. On seasonal time scale, the surface chlorophyll-a (schl) concentration in the southern tip of Sumatra is higher than the schl in the northern tip of Sumatra. The obtained results showed that the schl concentration in the southern tip of Sumatra increases (decreases) during the southeast (northwest) monsoons. Interestingly, its interactions with the southeast monsoon wind result in intensified coastal upwelling along the monsoon trough in July – August. It triggered a large bloom of the schl concentration from the upwelling region of southern tip Sumatra. Moreover, the schl in the center region followed the peak of the equatorial wind during the period transition in the Indian Ocean which is controlling the dynamics ocean such as upwelling event. Meanwhile, the opposite situation of the schl concentration observed low along the western coast of Sumatra during the northwest monsoon. At the same time, strong upwelling observed at the northern tip of Sumatra was associated with intense cooling on the sea surface temperature. It triggered a large bloom of high schl water from the upwelling region of northern Sumatra Island.

Linear programming is a step or process to get maximum results with existing resources or it can be said the process of looking for optimal value. One part of scheduling is production scheduling. production scheduling is the use of resources that are few but make the most profit. This paper discusses production scheduling using flowshop type production scheduling by taking into account transportation times and work weights. This paper uses the Dannenbring method with the aim of finding the optimal sequence of problems by considering the total production time (makespan) and the average Weigted Mean Flow Time (WMFT). Based on the results of the Dannenbring method, the results of flowshop scheduling are obtained with a total makespan of 75 hours and the WMFT value is 28, 87 hours.

The location transportation problem is a combination of location, routing and inventory facilities. The problem of transportation locations consists of strategic decisions and operational decisions. Strategy decisions consist of location and facility capacity to meet demand, while operational decisions consist of final production and optimal distribution. However, sometimes there is uncertainty in demand, which influences operational decisions. Robust Optimization is a method for solving problems that are affected by uncertainty in data. This study aims to apply single-stage with an ellipsoid approach to the problem of transportation locations with uncertainty in demand. Robust optimization through the ellipsoidal uncertainty set approach provides costs for strategic and operational decisions that tend to remain for each production period. As for the optimization model, the influence of uncertainty in demand can affect the uncertainty of strategic and operational costs.

Multicollinearity often occurs in regression analysis. Multicollinearity is a condition of correlation between independent variables which is a problem. One method that can overcome multicollinearity is the LASSO (Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator) method. LASSO is able to help to shrink multicollinearity and improve the accuracy of linear regression models. Estimators of LASSO parameters can be solved by the LARS (Least Angle Regression and Shrinkage) algorithm by algorithm which calculates the correlation vector, the largest absolute correlation value, equiangular vector, inner product vector, and determines the LARS algorithm limiter for LASSO. Selecting the best model using the Mallow’s C_p statistics. The smallest Mallow’s C_p value will be selected as the best model. LASSO method with a more detailed procedure with LARS algorithm and selecting the best model using the Mallow’s C_p statistics is discussed in this paper.

Joint Life Insurance futures is life insurance that covers two or more people within n years. The policy holder will get benefits from the insurance company if one of the combined insurance insured dies during the period of protection. It is likely that the insurance company will incur a loss if the claim is greater than predicted. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate premium reserves for insurance companies to predict company losses in the future. The method used to calculate premium reserves is the retrospective method. Premium reserves are calculated based on the 2011 TMI and De Moivre's assumptions. The results of the annual premium calculation based on assumptions are greater than using TMI 2011, because life opportunities based on assumptions are relatively small, while premium reserves are based on smaller assumptions than using 2011 TMI because the size of the reserves depends on the development of premiums.
