Opis:
Fe/Si multilayers with strong bilinear and biquadratic couplings were investigated. A complex structure revealed by the Mössbauer spectroscopy corresponds to multimode ferromagnetic resonance spectra in a non-saturated state. Simple dispersion relations for antiferromagnetic coupled bilayer structures are shown to be inapplicable to the Fe/Si multilayers with a strong biquadratic component to the antiferromagnetic bilinear coupling.

W artykule podano podstawowe informacje o napędzie przekształtnikowym z modułami IPM zmodernizowanej lokomotywy Ld 30. Opisany przekształtnik i silnik trakcyjny Lda 327a (45 kW) wykorzystano do budowy laboratoryjnego stanowiska napędu trakcyjnego ze sterownikiem PLC w układzie regulacji. Zamieszczono także, uzyskane na stanowisku, przebiegi prądu silnika i prędkości napędu w odniesieniu do różnych nastaw regulatorów. Modyfikacje programu realizowanego przez sterownik PLC pozwoliły na zaprezentowanie możliwości korekcji przebiegów prądu silnika w wybranych stanach pracy.
This article provides basic information about the intelligent power module-based converter drive for the modernized Ld 30 locomotives. The converter and the Lda 327a (45 kW) traction motor were used to build a laboratory stand of the traction drive with a PLC in the regulation system. Additionally, the waveforms of the motor current and drive speed, registered at the laboratory stand, were given with respect to various settings of the regulators. The modifications of the program executed by PLC allowed to present the possibilities to correct the waveforms of the motor current in selected operating conditions.

Opis:
LC input filters are applied in the traction drives with DC or AC motors controlled with the power electronic systems. As follows from experience in operation of the electric mine locomotives the most frequent reason for faults of these systems are faults of the filter's capacitors. Oscillations of voltage and current during the transient states of the drive operation can be one of the reasons for the damage of the capacitors. In this paper, special attention is paid to the angular frequency of oscillations of the voltage across the filter capacitor in transient states of drive operation. This quantity can be used in diagnostic and elimination of fault operation of the power electronic systems of the vehicles' drives. On the basis of a simplified model of the traction system, non-linear equation describing the system is formulated, linearized characteristic equation is given and minimum value of the filter capacity ensuring stable operation of the system is determined. The relationship determining the angular frequency is derived. The analysis of the influence of the filter capacity, inductance and resistance of the traction network, supply source voltage and power of the drive on the angular frequency of the oscillations of the voltage across the filter capacitor is carried out using simulations in the IsSpice program. Selected results of tests of the laboratory traction drive system equipped with a traction motor of the mine locomotive type Ld 31 are presented in the last section of the paper.

Opis:
Analysis of stable operation conditions of the input filters of the mine locomotives' drive systems was presented in the paper. Equations describing the drive system in various operation states were formulated on the basis of a simplified model of the traction system. The points of balance were obtained and linearization of the system was carried out using the power series method and Jacobi matrix. Conditions of stable operation concerning the minimum value of the input filter capacitance depending on the parameters of the supply source and traction network and also on the characteristics and operation states of the drive were given. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the stable operation conditions in the generating mode during braking. Selected results of simulation and laboratory tests concerning the stable operation conditions of the input filter of the drive system of the pulse-mode controlled mine locomotive were presented. Laboratory tests were carried out using a laboratory stand equipped with a 45 kW traction motor of the mine locomotive type Ld 31.

In the majority of electric trolley locomotives operated in Polish mines, a significant (3:1) main poles' field weakening in the traction machines is necessary. In the paper, special attention was paid to an analysis and results of laboratory tests of a transistor-based system designed for a pulse-mode control of the traction motors' excitation current of the locomotive type Ld31 (90 kW). A capacitor connected in parallel to the excitation winding of the traction motor is discharged through an resistor in the described system. Consequences of the significant differences in the current overload capacity of power transistors and SCR thyristors were presented. The relationships between a field weakening rate and an armature current for different switch duty ratios of the transistor were obtained on the basis of an approximate analysis of the system operation. The steady-state characteristic curves of the excitation current versus the armature current and power losses in the resistor were found using Maple computer algebra system. Results of the laboratory tests concerning the relationship between the excitation current and the armature current and selected oscillograms of the voltage and current waveforms were also shown.

Opis:
New fully controlled semiconductor power switches make considerable increase of operation frequency of converters in traction drives possible. Considering undesirable consequences of pulse current flow in the supply source and in the traction network, the increase of the converter's operation frequency allows to significant decrease of the capacitance and inductance of the input filter's components. However, the decrease of the parameter values of these components can be unacceptable due to instable operation of the drive system, which results in appearance of low-frequency undamped oscillations in the current and voltage waveforms of the input filter's capacitor. Various methods of damping these oscillations presented in the literature, for example increasing of the capacitance of the filter's capacitor, inserting an additional resistor or specific control strategies have some disadvantages and are not always effective. A method to limit the unstable region of operation of the traction drive through appropriate solution of the input filter system assuming that the mass and dimensions of the filter components are not bigger and the cost is not higher than in case of commonly applied LC filter has been suggested in the paper. Results of research of the features of the modified input filter and the results of comparison analysis between this filter and the LC type Γ filter have been presented. Special attention was paid to the stable operation region and to fluctuations of current and voltage in the filter system. The research was carried out using the IsSpice simulation program and the Maple computer algebra system.

Sputter deposited $(Ni_{80}Fe_{20}//Au//Co//Au)_{10}$ multilayers, characterized by alternating in-plane and perpendicular anisotropies of the NiFe and Co layers, respectively, and out-of-plane stripe (labyrinth) domain structure in the Co layers, were bombarded by $He^+$-ions (10 keV) through a mask consisting of polystyrene nanospheres with a diameter of 470 nm. The changes of multilayers magnetic properties after ion bombardment are correlated with the used mask structure.

Opis:
New controllable power semiconductor devices make the high frequency pulse-mode operation of the power electronic converters in traction drive systems possible. The capacity and inductance of the converter input filter limiting the ripple of the traction network voltage and current can be decreased for this reason. However, the significant change of the parameter values of these elements can be unacceptable due to necessity to ensure the stable operation of the pulse-mode control system. Results of analytical research, computer-aided simulation and laboratory research concerning stability of the pulse-mode controlled drive system with the electric mining locomotive's traction motor are presented in this paper. On the basis of the traction system simplified model consisting of the energy source, traction network, input filter and drive system, the analysis of system operation was carried out. The non-linear differential equations describing the system were formulated and the points of balance were calculated. The relationships concerning the minimum value of the filter capacity ensuring proper work of the system were obtained on the basis of stability conditions. The waveforms of voltages in the system in stable and unstable working conditions obtained as result of computer simulation using Maple program are shown in the paper. Selected results of laboratory tests of the stability of the traction drive system equipped with the current and speed controllers are also shown here. The specific attention was paid to the influence of the filter capacitor capacity, line resistance and load current on the filter capacitor voltage fluctuations.

The influence of He⁺ (10 keV) ion bombardment on magnetic properties of sputter deposited $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}$/Au/Co/Au layered films was studied. The variable parameters were the thickness of the Co layer or Au spacer and the ion dose. The magnetooptical Kerr measurements were performed on samples with wedge shaped Co or Au layers. With increasing dose of helium ions the following changes in magnetic properties were observed: (i) a decrease in the Co thickness range corresponding to the perpendicular anisotropy, (ii) a decrease in the coercive field $(H_C)$, (iii) an increase in the ferromagnetic coupling between ferromagnetic layers.

The influence of $He^+$ ion bombardment on magnetoresistance, magnetization reversal and domain structure of sputtered $(Ni_{80}Fe_{20}(2 nm)//Au(2 nm)//Co(0.6 nm)//Au(2 nm))_{10}$ multilayers was investigated. The samples were bombarded using $He^+$(30 keV) ions with fluences D varied from $10^{13}$ to 3×$10^{16}$ $He^+$/$cm^{2}$. With increasing D the following changes in magnetic properties were observed: (i) exponential decay of the saturation field of Co layers, (ii) progressive decrease in magnetoresistance as a result of degradation of Co layers perpendicular anisotropy, (iii) linear decrease in stripe domain period with log(D).

The paper presents research results on smoke emission from AD3.152 diesel engine fuelled with rapeseed oil (RO) and its blends with diethyl ether (DEE). All necessary tests were carried out in stationary condition for selected rotational speeds of the crankshaft i.e.1000, 1500 and 2000 rpm as well as engine loads of 40, 80 and 120 Nm. Results of the research confirmed, that diethyl ether added in volumetric ratio of 40 % to rapeseed oil reduces smoke opacity even by 50% compared with the engine fuelled with neat rapeseed oil.
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań zadymienia spalin silnika o zapłonie samoczynnym AD3.152 zasilanego olejem rzepakowym (OR)oraz jego mieszaninami z eterem dietylowym (DEE). Wszystkie niezbędne badania wykonano w warunkach ustalonych dla wybranych prędkości obrotowych wału korbowego tj. 1000, 1500 i 2000 obr/min oraz obciążeń 40, 80 i 120 Nm. Uzyskane wyniki potwierdzają, że dodatek eteru dietylowego w objętości 40% do oleju rzepakowego zmniejsza zadymienie spalin nawet o ok. 50% w stosunku do silnika zasilanego olejem rzepakowym.

Sputtered NiFe/Au/Co/Au layers with noncollinear magnetizations are of scientific interest for unusual magnetization behavior and their potential application in spintronics. In this paper, we propose to use a material selective sensitivity of magneto-optical Kerr effect for separation of signals from different materials in a bilayer system. The materials selective sensitivity is demonstrated on a sample with two mutually perpendicular Co and NiFe wedges.

We report on an incorporation of self-assembled templates of superparamagnetic Fe-O nanoparticles into tunnel magnetoresistance devices. We fabricated a multilayer stack composed of the following layer sequence: Cr/Au/Co/NP/Co/Cu on Si(100) substrate where NP stands for a self-assembled layer of nanoparticles deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The X-ray reflectivity and grazing-incidence small angle X-ray scattering were employed to study the layers thicknesses and interface morphology in each preparation step. In particular, the grazing-incidence small angle X-ray scattering was measured before and after the nanoparticle incorporation as well as on the complete tunnel magnetoresistance stack. In this way, in-depth morphology profile during subsequent preparation steps was obtained. We demonstrate that X-ray analysis of the deposited tunnel magnetoresistance stack is essential for successful fabrication of novel hybrid devices consisting of self-assembled nanoparticles.

We present a submicron magnetic field sensor with voltage-tunable magnetic field sensitivity. The device, based on magnetic tunnel junction, exhibits high tunnelling magnetoresistance ratio of up to 90%. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of thin ferromagnetic sensing layer in combination with an in-plane magnetized reference layer is used to obtain linear change in the sensor resistance in response to the in-plane magnetic field. The perpendicular anisotropy is further controlled by the bias voltage and, thus, the sensitivity of the sensor is changed. In addition, we evaluate the sensor selectivity for the magnetic field direction and present an influence of the temperature on the anisotropy.

For this reason the values of the capacitance and inductance of the input filter components could be significantly decreased. However, the significant decrease of the parameter values of these components can be unacceptable due to necessity to ensure the stable operation of the drive system. The method of obtaining the Lyapunov function and the conditions of stable drive's operation are presented in this paper. On the basis of the simplified equivalent diagram of the traction system, which is frequently encountered in literature, the analysis of system operation was carried out. The non-linear differential equation describing the system was formulated, the points of balance were calculated and the practical meaning of these points was discussed. After taking into account the equilibrium points and appropriate transformation of the formulas the known in literature Lienard equation was obtained. On the basis of dependences related to Lienard equation the Lyapunov function for the system analysed in the paper was found. Results of the simulations and laboratory tests of stability of the system with pulse-mode converter supplying the traction motor with rated power of 45 kW of the electric mine locomotive Ld 31 are also presented here.
