    The aim of investigation was the frequency of histopathological changes of the m. pectoralis superficialis of game and Mongolian pheasants of different ages. The samples for analyze from pectoral muscle were taken after bird slaughter immediately at 12, 16 and 20 weeks of age. Then with from the samples made the histological slides and stained with H + E coloring method to visualize of the muscle tissue structure. The muscle structure analysis was conducted per area 1.5 mm2 with the following histopathological changes: atrophy, shape changes, giant fibers, necrosis, hyaline degeneration, splitting, connective tissue hypertrophy and inflammatory. There was a small frequency of histopathological changes in both pheasant varieties. The most histopathological changes ware observed atrophy and changes of fiber shape. Other changes were sporadic. The connective tissue hypertrophy and inflammatory infiltration were not observed in any individuals. Mongolian pheasants found slightly higher frequency of histopathological changes, but these differences were not statistically significant. Considering the above facts, it can be stated that m. pectoralis superficialis both varieties of pheasants because of the small number of histopathological changes observed in their structure and their nutritional value are valuable raw materials for the high-quality food production.

    Currently, companies must change and evolve to keep pace with the changing environment, customers’ requirements and to be better than their competitors. The changes result from the need to adapt the products to new customers’ requirements as well as to maintain competitive prices of their products. Therefore, companies should be flexible to guarantee short lead time and minimalize their costs to offer a good price for the customers. At the same time, companies should create good work environment for their employees in order to get them involved in improvement processes. In order to survive and develop companies should motivate and involve their employees into a continuous improvement process in different areas of the company. Unfortunately, as based on the companies’ practice and previous research, in many cases employees are not willing to engage in the company development. Continuous improvement is the basis of the philosophy of Quality Management and Lean Manufacturing, which come from Toyota Production System (TPS). The TPS eventually spread throughout the world, and it is held up as an example of the proper management of a production system. The assumptions of TPS system were used to build systems in other companies, but not always with the same success as it was in Toyota. For this reason, the authors of this paper seek to answer the question of whether there are differences in engagement in a continuous improvement process between employees in a Japanese company and a Polish company operating in the same industry and realizing the similar manufacturing. In order to verify this, the research was conducted in two manufacturing companies which operate in the automotive industry. The results of the study and their analysis are presented in the work.

    Maintaining a proper productivity and efficiency level of a technical infrastructure of an enterprise requires, above all, the use of appropriate managing methods and tools as well as an appropriate organization of services responsible for their management. Using a variety of measures is indispensable to evaluate the effectiveness of these practices as well as of the machine performance in any enterprise. The data obtained from measuring particular indicators are a primary source of information on the necessity of taking particular actions. Large companies are particularly willing to implement appropriate indicators of effectiveness evaluation because of a large number of machines and a vast range of their technical maintenance. Different indicators presented in the references are said to be efficient and willingly used by enterprises. The aim of the study, of which the results are presented in this article, was to identify the real actions taken by the surveyed enterprises concerning the use of the machine effectiveness evaluation metrics. Apart from that, the study also intended to obtain the information on which indicators are actually applied by enterprises. The study was carried out in large production enterprises of different industries on a specified area.
    Utrzymanie infrastruktury technicznej przedsiębiorstwa na odpowiednim poziomie produktywności i wydajności wymaga przede wszystkim stosowania właściwych metod i narzędzi zarządzania oraz właściwej organizacji służb odpowiedzialnych za jego realizację. Nieodłącznym elementem oceny efektywności tych działań oraz funkcjonowania maszyn w przedsiębiorstwie jest stosowanie różnorodnych mierników. Dane uzyskiwane z pomiarów określonych wskaźników są podstawowym źródłem informacji o konieczności podejmowania działań określonego rodzaju. Szczególnie duże firmy są chętne, aby wdrożyć odpowiednie wskaźniki oceny efektywności maszyn ze względu na dużą liczbę maszyn i duży zakres prac związanych z ich obsługą techniczną. W literaturze przedmiotu prezentowane są różne wskaźniki wskazywane, jako skuteczne i chętnie stosowane przez przedsiębiorstwa. Celem badań, których wyniki przedstawiono w niniejszej pracy, było zidentyfikowanie rzeczywistych działań realizowanych przez badane przedsiębiorstwa w zakresie stosowania mierników oceny skuteczności maszyn oraz pozyskanie informacji o tym, jakie wskaźniki są przez firmy stosowane w praktyce. Badania przeprowadzono w dużych przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych funkcjonujących w różnych branżach przemysłu na określonym obszarze.

    Działania realizowane w zakresie nadzoru nad infrastrukturą techniczną są szczególnie istotne dla dużych przedsiębiorstw. Powszechnie panuje przekonanie, że w dużych przedsiębiorstwach istnieje duży zakres zadań realizowanych w ramach nadzoru nad infrastrukturą techniczną. Dotychczas przeprowadzone badania wskazują jedynie na stosowane w przedsiębiorstwach strategie nadzoru nad maszynami, jednakże nie wskazuje się, jakie działania są konkretnie realizowane. W rzeczywistości mimo zasad przyjętych dla każdej strategii w praktyce nie są one tak do końca stosowane. Celem badań, których wyniki przedstawiono w niniejszej pracy, było zidentyfikowanie rzeczywistych działań, które są prowadzone w przedsiębiorstwach w zakresie nadzoru nad infrastrukturą techniczną w dużych przedsiębiorstwach. Badania dotyczyły przedsiębiorstw produkcyjnych funkcjonujących w różnych branżach przemysłu na określonym obszarze. Wyniki badań opracowano i przedstawiono w postaci graficznej. Wyniki badań wskazują zarówno na te działania, które są powszechnie realizowane, jak i na te, które rzadko występują w tej grupie przedsiębiorstw.
    The activities realized within the technical infrastructure supervision are particularly important for large enterprises. It’s commonly believed that in large enterprises there is a wide range of tasks realized within the technical infrastructure supervision. The studies done so far indicate only the machine supervision strategies used in enterprises, yet it doesn’t indicate what activities are specifically realized. In fact, in spite of the rules adopted for each strategy, they are not used entirely in practice. The aim of the survey, of which the results are presented in this paper, was to identify the real activities conducted in enterprises within the technical infrastructure supervision in large enterprises. The survey concerned production enterprises functioning in different industries on a specified area. The results were drawn up and presented graphically. The results indicate both the activities which are commonly realized and those which are rare in this group of enterprises.

    Poród jest dla dziecka i jego rodziców wydarzeniem szczególnym. Celem badań było uzyskanie informacji od par, które odbyły poród rodzinny, na temat przygotowania do porodu, jego przebiegu oraz kształtowania się więzi rodzicielskich i małżeńskich w kontekście porodu rodzinnego. Materiał i metoda: Badania przeprowadzono wśród 107 par, które uczestniczyły w porodzie rodzinnym. Narzędzie badawcze stanowił autorski kwestionariusz ankiety w dwóch wersjach: (K) – dla kobiet i (M) – dla ojca dziecka. Wyniki: Głównym źródłem informacji o porodzie rodzinnym dla przyszłych rodziców był Internet, czasopisma oraz uczestnictwo w zajęciach szkoły rodzenia. Motywacją do jego odbycia, wskazywaną przez kobiety, było: uzyskanie wsparcia psychicznego (72,89%), chęć bycia z kimś bliskim (41,12%), zapewnienie poczucia bezpieczeństwa (27,10%). Dla mężczyzn obecność przy porodzie powodowana była chęcią udzielenia żonie wsparcia psychicznego (62,61%), przeżycia niezapomnianej chwili (36,44%) oraz bycia z kimś bliskim (26,16%). Wnioski: Poród rodzinny pozytywnie wpływa na relacje małżeńskie oraz zwiększa poczucie bezpieczeństwa wśród rodzących.
    Childbrirth is a unique experience in the lives of both the child and its parents. The aim of this research was to obtain information from couples that had experienced a family birth on subject of preparation for its course and the influence of this event on formation of the parental and marital bonds. Material and methods. The research has been carried out amongst 107 couples, which participated in a family birth. The basic research tool consisted of the author's own survey prepared in two versions: (K) for the woman and (M) for the child's father. Results: The Internet, magazines and the participation in a birth school constituted the main source of information for expecting parents. Amongst the main motivations for participating in a family birth indicated by women were: obtaining psychological support (72.89%), the desire to be with someone close to them (41.12%), providing a sense of security (27.10%). For men their presence during birth was connected with psychological support for their wife (62.61%), experience an unforgettable moment (36.44%), be with someone close to them (26.16%). Conclusion: The spouses claimed that participating in a family birth had a beneficial effect on the marital relationships and increases the feeling of safety among parturient.

    Salix starkeana Willd. is a rare species of Polish flora. A new stand of this species consisting of approximately 300 specimens, has been found adjacent to the Wieprzec Reserve, in Central Roztocze. These plants occur on overgrown meadow belonging to the class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea, and on the periphery of an alder woodland.

    Wprowadzenie. W każdej społeczności na świecie żyją kobiety, które doświadczyły w swoim życiu aktów przemocy. Media dość często przekazują informacje o nich, niekiedy jednak zbyt późno, czyli w sytuacji, gdy doszło już do utraty życia czy zdrowia. Cel pracy. Ukazanie zjawiska przemocy domowej wobec kobiet jako wciąż aktualnego, trudnego do zdiagnozowania i rozwiązania problemu. Skrócony opis stanu wiedzy. Przemoc domowa wobec kobiet nie może być niedostrzegana. W opracowaniu zdefiniowano pojęcia: przemoc, przemoc w rodzinie i przemoc wobec kobiet. Omówiono zakres i formy przemocy oraz skalę zjawiska w Polsce, stwierdzając, że jest trudne do oszacowania. Podkreślono, iż przemoc najczęściej odbywa się w zamkniętym kręgu rodziny, czyli bez świadków. Omówiono rolę pracowników medycznych, w tym pielęgniarek i położnych, w profilaktyce przemocy i identyfikowaniu kobiet krzywdzonych. Podsumowanie. Istnieje potrzeba opracowania skuteczniejszych programów prewencyjnych, aktualizacji wiedzy i większego zaangażowania pracowników medycznych (również pielęgniarek i położnych) wobec zmieniających się rozwiązań prawnych. Skuteczne przeciwdziałanie, także rozwiązywanie problemu przemocy domowej wobec kobiet, wymaga korzystania z różnych obszarów wiedzy i umiejętności. Konieczna jest zatem współpraca zespołów interdyscyplinarnych, tj. przedstawicieli służb, instytucji i organizacji wchodzących w ich skład.
    Introduction. In every community in the world there live women who have experienced acts of violence in their life. The media quite often provide information about them, however, sometimes too late or in a situation where loss of life or health has already occurred. Objective. The aim of the study was to show the phenomenon of domestic violence against women as a perennial problem, difficult to be diagnosed and solved. Brief description of the state of knowledge. Domestic violence against women cannot be ignored. The following terms were defined in the study: violence, domestic violence and violence against women. The scope and forms of violence and the scale of this phenomenon in Poland are discussed, formulating the opinion that the phenomenon is difficult to be realistically assessed. It was emphasized that it usually happens within the closed circle of a family, that is, without witnesses. The role of medical staff, including nurses and midwives, in the prevention and detection of abused women is discussed. Conclusion. There is a need for developing more effective prevention programmes, updating knowledge and a greater involvement of medical staff, including nurses and midwives, in view of the changing legal solutions. Effective prevention, as well as solving the problem of domestic violence against women, requires the use of various areas of knowledge and skills. Cooperation is therefore necessary between interdisciplinary teams, i.e. the representatives of services, institutions and organizations under their structures.
