Opis:
Theory and application of rare events have been very important in recent years due to its practical importance in very different fields such as insurance, finance, engineering or environmental science. This paper presents a methodology for predicting rare events based on Bayesian Networks which in turn enables the study alternative scenarios to control the frequency of road accidents. This way the model Naive-Poisson and ROCDM is presented in this paper for its validation. The developed model is used to estimate and predict road accidents as rare events and results have been evaluated by using ROCDM curve. Naive-Poisson model and a validation model based on ROC curve is used to study several Spanish roads and the results are here shown.

Opis:
Pollution adjacent to the continent's shores has increased in the last decades, so it has been necessary to establish an energy policy to improve environmental conditions. One of the proposed solution was the search of alternative fuels to the commonly used in Short Sea Shipping to reduce pollution levels in Europe. Studies and researches show that liquefied natural gas could meet the European Union environmental requirements. Even environmental benefits are important; currently there is not significant number of vessels using it as fuel. Moreover, main target of this article is exposing result of a research in which a methodology to establish the most relevant variables in the decision to implement liquefied natural gas in Short Sea Shipping has been development using data mining. A Bayesian network was constructed because this kind of network allows to get graphically the relationships between variables and to determine posteriori values that quantify their contributions to decision-making. Bayesian model has been done using data from some European countries (European Union, Norway and Iceland) and database was generated by 35 variables classified in 5 categories. Main obtained conclusion in this analysis is that variables of transport and international trade and economy and finance are the most relevant in the decision-making process when implementing liquefied natural gas. Even more, it can be stablish that capacity of liquefied natural gas regasification terminals under construction and modal distribution of water cargo transportation continental as the most decisive variables because they are the root nodes in the obtained network.

Opis:
Nowadays, society claim for efficiency and efficiency of managed resources, so, making-decision people look for transparency and good planning practices. In particular case of ports, many variables are involved on it, so Bayesian networks are a useful tool to make an efficient planning because this kind of networks allow to know relationships between variables, even when they are a great number of them. In order to facilitate this work, the following study is carried out in which, through the construction of a Bayesian network, the. Agent can know interesting information about how port variables are connected and can insert possible actions based on utility of their results, even when number of variables is high as occurs in planning and management of port terminals. There are a low number of studies related to this, so, our research includes more than 40 port variables, belonging to the four dimension of port sustainability. Main obtained conclusion shows that economic variables are the network parents in most of cases, so, their consideration is very important in planning decision-making. Their knowledge even allows to estimate probability of the rest of variables including in the network.

Opis:
The adoption of IT/IS has repeatedly paved the way for the modernization of maritime ports. Despite the growing importance of information systems in solving current and future challenges, little attention has been paid to this topic in the area of maritime logistics. The march of digitalization continues to change the logistics processes in modern seaports. This study presents a tool called End to End Tool that allows to obtain a picture of the past, present and future situation around the digilatization of Spanish ports, it is a model of observation of the environment and the most representative factors. It allows to know the reality of the conditions of the port environment where the digilatization has been thought to be developed, moreover, in its final phase it allows to establish the possible scenarios of digilatization for Spanish ports, highlighting as main conclusion that there is still a long way to go in digilatization, such as making an immediate conversion to digital, intelligent and green ports, which optimize the existing infrastructures with a plus of capacity thanks to the intelligent management of spaces.
