This paper gives an analysis of some basic concepts and categories in formal pragmatic of J. Habermas. His theory allows to parameterise the pragmatic analyses and base them on the assumption of the speaker’s rationalism which refers in turn to the question of the truth of utterances, their sincerity and the legitimacy of norms and regulations accepted by language users in inter-subjectively divided worlds.

In the paper I am dealing with issues of comparative methodology in the scope of Chinese and Western logic. To exemplify the problem I chose interpretation of The White Horse Dialogue by three different sinologists. The results of the analysis carried out permits us to state that in the case of the comparative research on Chinese logic, it is rather the choice of the research method which determines the object of the examination, rather than the other way round.

W polskiej literaturze dotyczącej pamięci termin „niepamięć” (nie należy utożsamiać go z zapomnieniem) zajmuje w ostatnich latach ważne miejsce. Wydaje się, że dyskusje naukowe dotyczące kwestii doświadczeń wojennych i powojennych zostały zdominowane przez język psychoanalizy, warto jednak sięgnąć również po języki wernakularne. Autor rozważa kwestie pamięci i niepamięci w odniesieniu do niezwykle traumatycznych doświadczeń powojennych, które stały się podstawą dwóch krótkich filmów Nie sądzić (reż. Pawlina Carlucci Sforza i Magdalena Lubańska, 2017) oraz Wielki strach (reż. Pawlina Carlucci Sforza, 2020). Filmy te przedstawiają ten problem z różnych perspektyw – pierwszy w sposób pośredni, drugi wprost. Ludzie powracający po wojnie z przymusowych robót w Niemczech byli okradani i mordowani przez bandytów w lesie w okolicy Przeworska. Traumatyczne wspomnienia o tych wydarzeniach były skrywane przez ponad siedemdziesiąt lat.
Recently, the term “non-memory” (which should not be equated with oblivion) has gained importance in the Polish discourse on memory. It seems that scholarly discussions analysing the issues of World War II and post-war experiences have been dominated by the language of psychoanalysis; however, it is worth taking into consideration also vernacular languages. The author discusses the issues of memory and non-memory in relation to the extremely traumatic post-war experiences depicted in the two short films Nie sądzić (Not to Judge, dir. Pawlina Carlucci Sforza and Magdalena Lubańska, 2017) and Wielki strach (The Fear, dir. Pawlina Carlucci Sforza, 2020). They deal with this issue from different perspectives: the first in a more indirect way, the second – directly. People returning from forced labour in Germany after World War II were plundered and murdered by a local gang in a forest near Przeworsk. Traumatic knowledge about these events had been hidden for over seventy years.

Tematem artykułu jest film Macieja Drygasa Usłyszcie mój krzyk (1991) – słynny dokument opowiadający o podpaleniu się Ryszarda Siwca, które miało miejsce 8 września 1968 r. na Stadionie Dziesięciolecia w Warszawie. Sikora stwierdza, że w swym filmie Drygas zderzył  ze sobą przede wszystkim dwa performanse, które wydarzyły się w jednym miejscu i w jednym czasie i które pozostały względem siebie w szczególny sposób nieprzezroczyste – akt samospalenia Siwca i odbywające się na stadionie dożynki państwowe. Autor kreśli rozmaite konteksty tych wydarzeń (m.in. odniesienie do Wesela Andrzeja Wajdy /1972/), a przede wszystkim osadza swoje rozważania w obszarze badań performatywności. Analiza tych zagadnień prowadzi go do konstatacji, że film i kino jako formy rytuału mogą odczyniać historię, ale także pozwalają zobaczyć ją czasem na nowo w innym i pełniejszym świetle.
The subject of the article is the film by Maciej Drygas Hear My Cry (1991) - a famous documentary about the self-immolation of Ryszard Siwiec, which took place on September 8, 1968 at the Decade Stadium (Stadion Dziesięciolecia) in Warsaw. Sikora states that Drygas collided two performances that happened in one place and at one time and that remained opaque to each other in a special way - the act of self-immolation by Siwiec and the state harvest festival taking place at the stadium. The author sketches various contexts of these events (including references to Andrzej Wajda’s The Wedding /1972/), and above all, he sets his reflections in the field of performativity research. The analysis of these issues leads him to the conclusion that film and cinema as a form of ritual can break the spell cast on history, but also allow it to be seen again and again in a different and fuller light.

Artykuł przedstawia rozważania na temat Leviathana (2012), filmu zrealizowanego przez Luciena Castaing-Taylora i Vérénę Paravel, antropologów współtworzących Sensory Ethnography Lab (Uniwersytet Harvarda). Autor proponuje, by traktować film jako antropologię nowej generacji, zrywającą z tradycyjnym Geertzowskim „opisem gęstym”, nastawieniem antropocentrycznym i reprezentacją dominującą w myśleniu zachodnim. Kładzie nacisk na materialność/materiały, zmysłowość, procesualność, a także nierozróżnialność aktorów ludzkich i pozaludzkich. Ważnymi dla prowadzonego wywodu autorami stają się Gilles Deleuze i Félix Guattari oraz Tim Ingold. Zdanie tego ostatniego (Zaangażowanie w świat wiąże się z odczuwaniem go, a nie zamieszkiwaniem w świecie sensu) mogłoby być szczególnym wprowadzeniem do analizowanego filmu. 
The article offers a reflection on Leviathan (2012), a film made by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Véréna Paravel, anthropologists associated with the Sensory Ethnography Lab (Harvard University). The author proposes to regard the film as a new type of anthropology, breaking with the traditional Geertzian “thick description” and anthropocentric perspective, but also with the philosophy of representation dominant in the Western world. It emphasizes the importance of materiality/materials, sensuality, processuality, but also the indistinguishability of human and non-human actors. The argument draws on the concepts of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, as well as Tim Ingold. Perhaps the latter’s sentence (To engage with things is to sense the world, not to inhabit a world of sense) could be a kind of introduction to the film.

In the article an example of logic and epistemology of the Buddhist philosopher Dignaga indicates some limitations of both standard logic languages and adequacy of basic epistemological concepts: meaning and truth. Contrary to the methodological lines suggested by Łukasiewicz and Schayer, the structure of inference schema anumāna is not determined by truth-functional operator between sentences. Semantic inference structure is determined by generic name, relation qualifications on the basis of distributive or collective class. The Buddhist inference can not be reflected by the relationship between a cause and an effect. The recognition of the thesis is the result of applying the operation to the exclusion (apoha) of other meanings for the hetu premise. At the level of syntax, the cognitive act of agreement with the thesis of inference (based on the exclusion of other meanings for the hetu) is expressed with the ablative case (separation) by the suffix “-at”.

The work concerns the problem of comparative research methodology and methods of argument in the philosophical systems of culturally diverse areas. The analysis and comparison is part of the Indian system of philosophical and epistemological – religious Nyāya Sữtra. The Nyāya Sữtra is interpreted in semiotic theory Ch. S. Peirce. On the basis of certain assumptions artificial intelligence and the theory of belief change, constructed for the semiotic model. As a result of the study shows that, in the epistemological Nyāya Sữtra is a system of acquiring knowledge. This system is characterized by abductive argumentation, and is aimed at the changing attitudes epistemic.
