Opis:
In this paper, multiobjective variational programming problem is considered. Mond-Weir type higher order duality results are established by using the efficiency of higher order as the optimization tool. In order to prove these results, we propose the notion of generalized higher order (F,ρ,θ,m,h)−invexity.

Opis:
Multiobjective fractional variational problem is considered and sufficient optimality conditions, characterizing efficiency of higher order, are obtained under the assumptions of (F,ρ)−invexity of higher order on the functionals involved. Parametric higher order dual of the above stated problem is proposed. Duality theorems are proved to relate efficient solutions of higher order for primal and its dual problem using generalized class of functionals.

Opis:
In this paper, we present the mathematical study of heat and mass transfer effects on an arterial blood flow under the influence of an applied magnetic field with chemical reaction. A case of mild stenosis is considered in a non-tapered artery which is inclined at an angle γ from the axis. The variable viscosity of the blood is considered varying with the hematocrit ratio. Governing non-linear differential equations have been solved by using an analytical scheme, homotopy perturbation method to obtain the solution for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles of the blood flow. For having an adequate insight to blood flow behavior through a stenosed artery, graphs have been plotted for wall shear stress, velocity, temperature and concentration profiles with varying values of the applied magnetic field, chemical reaction parameter and porosity parameter. The results show that in an inclined artery, the magnitude of the wall shear stress at stenosis throat increases as values of the applied magnetic field increase while it reduces as the values of both the chemical reaction and porosity parameters increase. Contour plots have been plotted to show the variations of the velocity profile of blood flow as the values of the height of the stenosis as well as the influence of the applied magnetic field increase.

Opis:
Purpose: Carbofuran toxicity on rats was studied during sub-acute exposure. This work was undertaken to evaluate the protective effect of aqueous black tea extract and vitamin C against a rat model of oxidative stress induced by treatment with carbofuran, an organocarbamate insecticide. Materials and methods: The levels of lipid peroxidation, reduced glutathione and ascorbic acid were assessed by determining the extent of oxidative stress in the erythrocytes of rats. Results: The results clearly demonstrated that the treatment of rats with sub-acute concentration of carbofuran caused significant elevation in the levels of oxidative stress and decrease in the contents of glutathione and ascorbic acid. The introduction of black tea extract and vitamin C augmented the antioxidant defense mechanism in alleviating the carbofuran induced oxidative stress. Conclusion: The findings that the pretreatment with black tea and vitamin C can mitigate carbofuran induced toxicity lend evidence that supplementation with either black tea extract and/or vitamin C have a therapeutic potential in amelioration of oxidative stress in mammalian systems

An analysis is presented to describe the hydromagnetic mixed convection flow of an electrically conducting micropolar fluid past a vertical plate through a porous medium with radiation and slip flow regime. A uniform magnetic field has been considered in the study which absorbs the micropolar fluid with a varying suction velocity and acts perpendicular to the porous surface of the above plate. The governing non-linear partial differential equations have been transformed into linear partial differential equations, which are solved numerically by applying the explicit finite difference method. The numerical results are presented graphically in the form of velocity, micro-rotation, concentration and temperature profiles, the skin-friction coefficient, the couple stress coefficient, the rate of heat and mass transfers at the wall for different material parameters.

Opis:
The paper deals with an unsteady two dimensional laminar slip flow of a viscous incompressible magnetomicropolar fluid past a semi infinite porous plate embedded in a porous medium. The flow is under the influence of a transverse magnetic field and heat source/sink. The free stream velocity follows an exponentially increasing or decreasing small perturbation law. The porous surface absorbs the fluid with time varying suction velocity. Expressions are obtained for velocity and temperature fields, mean angular velocity, skin friction and the Nusselt number.

A mathematical model for MHD blood flow through a stenosed artery with Soret and Dufour effects in the presence of thermal radiation has been studied. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the porous surface. The governing non-linear partial differential equations have been transformed into linear partial differential equations, which are solved numerically by applying the explicit finite difference method. The numerical results are presented graphically in the form of velocity, temperature and concentration profiles. The effects of various parameters such as the Reynolds number, Hartmann number, radiation parameter, Schmidt number and Prandtl number, Soret and Dufour parameter on the velocity, temperature and concentration have been examined with the help of graphs. The present results have an important bearing on the therapeutic procedure of hyperthermia, particularly in understanding/regulating blood flow and heat transfer in capillaries.

This paper presents a study of a hydromagnetic free convection flow of an electrically conducting micropolar fluid past a vertical plate through a porous medium with a heat source, taking into account the homogeneous chemical reaction of first order. A uniform magnetic field has also been considered in the study which acts perpendicular to the porous surface of the above plate. The analysis has been done by assuming varying permeability of the medium and the Rosseland approximation has been used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. Numerical results are presented graphically in the form of velocity, micro- rotation, concentration and temperature profiles, the skin-friction coefficient, the couple stress coefficient, the rate of heat and mass transfers at the wall for different material parameters. The study clearly demonstrates how a chemical reaction influences the above parameters under given conditions.

Opis:
Road transport is a major source of air pollution particularly in towns and cities. In urban areas road traffic accounts for more than half of the emissions of nitrogen oxides, carbon mono-oxide and volatile organic compounds. This paper presents emission and energy consumption characteristics of urban roads with interrupted oversaturated flow comprising of heterogeneous traffic. Model has been developed for heterogeneous traffic under constraints of roadway geometry, vehicle characteristics, driving behaviour and traffic controls and has been calibrated and validated for interrupted oversaturated traffic conditions. Interrupted oversaturated flow conditions prevail in urban areas of most of the developing countries. The model developed shall predict carbon mono- oxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), volatile organic compounds (VOC), carbon dioxide (CO2) and fuel and energy consumption estimates for urban roads operating under oversaturated conditions of flow. Since model provides improved estimates of speed, delay and congestion it provides better estimates of emissions and energy consumption.
Transport drogowy to główne źródło zanieczyszczenia powietrza szczególnie w dużych i małych miastach.

A novel series of chalconyl vinyl ester based derivatives were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized compounds were studied for efficacy against several bacteria (E.Coli, P.Aeruginosa, S.Aureus, S.Pyogenus) and fungi (C.Albicans, A.Niger, Clavatus) using the broth dilution technique. Chalcones were prepared by treatment of 4-iodo acetophenone with 4-hydroxy benzaldehyde by Claisen-Schimidt condensation reaction. Various chalconyl vinyl ester derivatives (C1-C8) were prepared by reaction of chalcone with 4-n-alkoxy cinnamic acids derivatives. Compound C8 shows the best bioactive desired antibacterial analogue with less MIC value against different tested strains. All the final synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, and elemental analysis.
