Opis:
The versatile application of titanium alloy in the aerospace industry and it’s hard to machine characteristics focus towards the additive manufacturing. The Ti-6Al-4V alloy is manufactured using the electron beam source with a novel method of prepositioned titanium alloy wires. The tribology of the additive manufactured titanium alloy under dry sliding condition is experimented and analysed using Taguchi technique. The targeted objective of minimum tribological responses are attained with the identified optimal parameters as load - 9.81 N, sliding velocity - 3 m/s, sliding distance - 3000 m for minimum specific wear rate and load - 9.81 N, sliding velocity - 3 m/s, sliding distance - 1000 m for minimum coefficient of friction. Among the parameters tested, load is found to be the dominant factor on the tribology of additively manufactured titanium alloy. The morphological analysis on the worn surface and debris revealed the existence of abrasion, delamination and adhesion wear mechanisms. The increase in the load dominantly showed the appearance of delamination mechanism.

Opis:
In this work an attempt is made to analysis of the possible different conformers of p-coumaric acid (PCA) by using density functional method. The total energy of four possible conformers were calculated by using B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) method. Computational result identifies that the most stable conformer of PCA is C2. The formation of inter- and intra-molecular hydrogen bonding between -OH and -COOH group gave the evidence for dimer formation for PCA molecule. The highest occupied-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital analysis shows that the negative electrostatic region situated over the -COOH group and positive electrostatic potential region are localized on ring system and all hydrogen. The PCA has been screened to anti-microbial activity and found to exhibit anti-bacterial effects. Molecular docking results suggest that PCA may exhibit inhibitory activity against lung cancer protein and may act as potential against lung cancer.

Opis:
The soil sample was collected from the paddy field of Sriperumbudur, Tamilnadu which is having a history of repeated pesticide applications. The isolation of efficient pesticide degrading bacteria was identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. The growth of the three pesticide degrading isolates was assessed in Minimal salt broth containing 25 ppm of pesticides. Two popularly used pesticides Metribuzin and Profenofos were selected for this study. Among the three bacterial isolates, the bacteria Bacillus subtilis utilized the pesticides effectively and showed maximum growth. The growth of the three pesticides degrading isolates Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis was assessed in Minimal salt broth containing 25 ppm of pesticides at different temperature levels (25 °C, 30 °C, 35 °C, 40 °C, 45 °C, 50 °C & 55 °C) and pH levels (pH 4, pH 5, pH 6, pH 7 & pH 8) and carbon sources (Lactose, Dextrose, Fructose, Mannose & Galactose) and nitrogen sources Peptone, Yeast extract, Beef extract, Malt extract and Casein respectively. The maximum growth rate of bacteria was recorded at 35 °C and pH 6. The maximum growth of bacteria was in the presence of Dextrose followed by Fructose, Galactose and Mannose. The least growth was recorded in Lactose broth culture. The maximum growth of bacteria was in the presence of Malt extract followed by Peptone, Yeast extract and Casein. The least growth was recorded in Beef extract broth culture. The bacterial isolates showed maximum growth in the Minimal salt broth containing Profenofos followed by Metribuzin.

Opis:
A model of dislocations has been developed for the use in Monte Carlo simulations of ion channeling spectra obtained for defected crystals. High resolution transmission electron microscopy micrographs show that the dominant type of defects in the majority of ion irradiated crystals are dislocations. The RBS/channeling spectrum is then composed of two components: one is due to direct scattering on randomly displaced atoms and the second one is related to beam defocussing on dislocations, which produce predominantly crystal lattice distortions, i.e. bent channels. In order to provide a correct analysis of backscattering spectra for the crystals containing dislocations we have modified the existing Monte Carlo simulation code "McChasy". A new version of the code has been developed by implementing dislocations on the basis of the Peierls-Nabarro model. Parameters of the model have been determined from the high resolution transmission electron microscopy data. The newly developed method has been used to study the Ar-ion bombarded $SrTiO_3$ samples. The best fit to the Rutherford backscattering/channeling spectra has been obtained by optimizing the linear combination of two kinds of defects: displaced atoms and bent channels. The great virtue of the Monte Carlo simulation is that unlike a traditional dechanneling analysis it allows quantitative analysis of crystals containing a mixture of different types of defects.
