Opis:
The aim of the present paper is to investigate surface waves in a non-homogeneous, isotropic, visco-elastic solid medium of n-th order including the time rate of strain. The theory of generalised surface waves has firstly been developed and then it has been employed to investigate particular cases of waves, viz., Stoneley, Rayleigh and Love type. The wave velocity equations have been obtained for different cases and are in well agreement with the corresponding classical result, when the effects of viscosity, temperature, magnetism as well as nonhomogeneity of the material medium are ignored.

Land-cover by land-use shows the influence of human on earth surface by different phenomena’s, ecological processes and human activities, its indication is a parameter of measurement how and with which extent the human influenced the natural surface with temporal variations. The change detection technique is used based upon the temporal observations from 2000 to 2015. Study area is one of the most populated city of Pakistan where industrial revolution is at its peak. The whole study area is categorized into four classes (i.e. Agricultural, Barren, Built-up and semi natural surfaces). The observational intervals were divided into three main classes i.e. 2000 to 2005, 2005 to 2010 and 2010 to 2015. Remarkable changes were occurred in built up area from 2000 to 2015 which is 38.6 % of total area, while the total change/decreased in barren land is -332 9(ha), similarly the Parks and grasses are also in decreasing extent and affect the local biodiversity and natural environment. The land cover is directly proportional to population expansion of urban city. For making the prediction of future urban expansion, previously occurred changes were aggregated to come up with a single value and then adding it to the recent land-use values. The mapping and analysis was undertaken through techniques of remote sensing and GIS, which proved to be very effective to measure the changes, and trend of changes with time, this mapping not only tells us the scale of change but, also tells us the patterns and the forces which causes these changes.

Opis:
Leakage power is the dominant source of power dissipation in nanometer technology. As per the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) static power dominates dynamic power with the advancement in technology. One of the well-known techniques used for leakage reduction is Input Vector Control (IVC). Due to stacking effect in IVC, it gives less leakage for the Minimum Leakage Vector (MLV) applied at inputs of test circuit. This paper introduces Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to the field of VLSI to find minimum leakage vector. Another optimization algorithm called Genetic algorithm (GA) is also implemented to search MLV and compared with PSO in terms of number of iterations. The proposed approach is validated by simulating few test circuits. Both GA and PSO algorithms are implemented in Verilog HDL and the simulations are carried out using Xilinx 9.2i. From the simulation results it is found that PSO based approach is best in finding MLV compared to Genetic based implementation as PSO technique uses less runtime compared to GA. To the best of the author’s knowledge PSO algorithm is used in IVC technique to optimize power for the first time and it is quite successful in searching MLV.

Opis:
Mobile Ad-Hoc Network is an wireless systems it supports mobile communication in a network. MANETs are affected by several security attacks but it affects the features that are like open medium, dynamical changes in topology, lack of central monitoring and management and it not obtain the clear defence mechanism to MANETs. To prevent or detect malicious nodes launching collaborative wormhole attacks is a challenge. The existing system designs a dynamic source routing (DSR)-based routing mechanism, but it is also referred to as the cooperative bait detection scheme (CBDS) to detect the wormhole attacks effectively. Here we describes the various wormhole attacks and prevention methods for wormhole attack.

Opis:
The paper reports meiotic studies on 50 populations comprising 12 species belonging to 5 genera of Caryophyllaceae from the Western Himalayas. The chromosome numbers in Arenaria kashmirica (n=20), Silene conoidea (n=20), S. edgeworthii (n=12 and n=24), S. moorcroftiana (n=24), S. nepalensis (n=12), Stellaria media (n=13), S. monosperma (n=13) and S. semivestita (n=13) are reported for the first time. The chromosome numbers in Lychnis coronaria (n=12) and Silene vulgaris (n=24) are given for the first time from India, along with Gypsophilla ceratioides (n=15) from the Western Himalayas. The course of meiosis varies from normal to abnormal in different populations of Silene conoidea, S. edgeworthii, S. vulgaris, Stellaria media, S. monosperma and S. semivestita. The course of meiosis was abnormal in all studied populations of Lychnis coronaria. Abnormal microsporogenesis (cytomixis, chromosomal stickiness, unoriented bivalents, formation of laggards and bridges) led to reduced pollen fertility and differences in pollen grain size.
