The continuous development of production processes is currently observed in the fourth industrial revolution, where the key place is the digital transformation of production is known as Industry 4.0. The main technologies in the context of Industry 4.0 consist Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT), which create the capabili-ties needed for smart factories. Implementation of CPS solutions result in new possibilities creation – mainly in areas such as remote diagnosis, remote services, remote control, condition monitoring, etc. In this paper, authors indicated the im-portance of Cyber-Physical Systems in the process of the Industry 4.0 and the Smart Manufacturing development. Firstly, the basic information about Cyber-Physical Production Systems were outlined. Then, the alternative definitions and different authors view of the problem were discussed. Secondly, the conceptual model of Cybernetic Physical Production System was presented. Moreover, the case study of proposed solution implementation in the real manufacturing process was presented. The key stage of the verification concerned the obtained data analysis and results discussion.

Opis:
Decision making is one of the biggest mysteries of human brain and behavior. Every decision is a choice that, in principle, could have gone differently. It is a fork on the road of decision making. Standing before that choice, you can choose to go one way or the other, but after you have chosen, you cannot go back. Every human being knows very well what it feels like to make a decision. But what we generally do not realize is why we make choices we make. We cannot identify the sources of our decisions. Especially when they are the everyday choices we make like as consumers. We offer in this paper the way of better understanding of decision making process using the EEG. In this paper we try to identify what happened in consumer brain during each step of decision making process.

A dominating set S of a graph G is called efficient if |N[v]∩ S| = 1 for every vertex v ∈ V(G). That is, a dominating set S is efficient if and only if every vertex is dominated exactly once. In this paper, we investigate efficient multiple domination. There are several types of multiple domination defined in the literature: k-tuple domination, {k}-domination, and k-domination. We investigate efficient versions of the first two as well as a new type of multiple domination.

Opis:
The study reviews the provisions of the Directive by, first, presenting its general rule – joint and several liability – and then its two exceptions, pointing out that albeit they contain similar solutions, these have different reasons in the case of leniency applicants obtained immunity from fines and small and medium-sized enterprises. The study examines whether the 11 CEE Member States prescribe joint and several liability, in principle, to cases where multiple persons cause harm jointly by an infringement of competition law. The study also analyses the position of an immunity recipient in national laws. During the examination, the study separates the position of the immunity recipient and the injured parties, as well as the position of the immunity recipient and other co-infringers, as is the case in the Directive. The study summarizes also national experiences with the implementation of the Damages Directive. It is a fact that the norms of the Directive have been implemented, and there is no deviation to jeopardize either the enforcement of claims for damages or the integrity of the internal market. Nevertheless, having established two separate exceptions, it would have been duly justified for the Commission to explain them in detail, considering their rules differ from each other. Noticeably, some CEE countries considered the difference unjustified and uniformly provided an opportunity for the co-infringer who compensated the harm of an injured party to submit a reimbursement claim against the immunity recipient and SMEs. Other CEE countries considered that they did not have the authority to do so. It would be worth reviewing the implementation of the exceptions to joint and several liabilities after a year, in conjunction with the issue of alternative dispute resolution. The study makes a proposal for an amendment of the Directive. Doctrinal views related to the SMEs exemption from joint and several liability draw attention to the fact that it is unfortunate if solutions designed in a relatively late stage of the legislative procedure do, in fact, later become a part of that directive. It would seem practical, for example, to declare that this exception shall be applied also to micro enterprises in relation to the compensation of harms caused by infringements of competition law. The Damages Directive requires, however, the implementation of this exception only with regard to small and medium-sized enterprises.

A study on natural gas saving and emissions decrease in the public health care sector is presented. The analyzed hospital complex belongs to the largest ones in Slovakia and uses both hot water and water steam for heating purposes. Visual steam system inspection revealed serious inefficiencies, including steam venting, missing pipelines insulation and obsolete steam sources with dysfunctional blow-down system. Defined experiment with stepwise steam appliances shutdown enabled quantification of excess natural gas consumption due to these inefficiencies. Measures proposed for the solution of this state are inexpensive, with a short payback period. The expected natural gas savings amount up to 3200 MWh/year, which represents roughly 50% of the total natural gas consumption in the hospital complex.

This study deals with the research on the impact of the construction of a tire-building drum on the selected parameters of a passenger tire. The introductory part of the study deals with a comprehensive analysis of the production process and factors that affect the quality of the final tire product during production. The content of this analysis is also the naming of problematic parts and their subsequent influence on the resulting parameters of a passenger tire. The core of the study is an optimization design for improving the construction of the tire-building drum. The world-renowned TRIZ methodology was applied to achieve the desired improvement results. Using the TRIZ methodology, the technical system was analysed, identified problematic parts, and defined the technical and physical contradictions and proposed possibilities for their removal. The systematic approach to the solution of the task has generated options for the right solution and possible optimization by reducing the weight of individual parts of the tire-building drum. During analysis, simulations of the deformation and total stress will be available before and after optimization. The work's conclusion describes the results of the simulation and the development process for the experimental testing possibilities of the optimized equipment. The study output is also a systematic procedure for testing the technical system, which can help designers design and optimize some parts of similar technical systems.

The paper focuses on intergenerational mobility and explores the role of social origin in ending up in various class locations. Latent class analysis was applied to mapping the class structure based on economic, cultural and social assets. Parental education and occupation are used to examine how social origin operates in accumulating the various forms of capital and in getting into different class positions. Out of the forms of capital, economic resources, high cultural capital and prestige of social contacts depend particularly on social origin; these are the main channels affecting mobility into the best class locations. If coming from low educated worker class background, one may get only into one of the bottom class locations, while members of the top class positions come from families where parents hold tertiary degree and have high occupational status.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all areas of our society. The effects of the pandemic on the economy have not only affected mainly the development of transport and tourism but most especially air transport. Many airports in Europe and around the world have experienced a drop in passengers and cargo due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For many airports, this period, which began in 2019, meant huge losses due to a drop in passengers, leading to the collapse of several airlines. Despite the gradually improving situation, the impact of the pandemic is still being felt, and the number of passengers at airports is growing rather slowly. Thus, airports had to deal with the current situation and adapt their future operation to the current conditions. Even the leading airport in Central Europe - the Schwechat Airport in Vienna - was not spared from the effects of the current pandemic. This article aims to evaluate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Schwechat airport. It focuses on the analysis of the development of the airport before and during the pandemic up to the present. Further, this article describes the problems that Schwechat airport dealt with throughout the period, with the loss of passengers, delays and the collapse of carriers. Subsequently, this article is part of a study aimed at identifying the negative effects of the pandemic on air transport and related industries worldwide. Predicting the development of the airport is a very important aspect, especially for the company's management and should be part of the risk management of every company.

Objectives To investigate the effect of CO₂ during sleep on next-morning cognitive performance in young schoolchildren, the authors performed a double-blind fully balanced crossover placebo-controlled study. Material and Methods The authors included 36 children aged 10–12 years in the climate chamber. The children slept at 21°C in 6 groups each at 3 different conditions separated by 7 days in a random order. Conditions were as follows: high ventilation with CO₂ at 700 ppm, high ventilation with added pure CO₂ at 2000–3000 ppm, and reduced ventilation with CO₂ at 2–3000 ppm and bioeffluents. Children were subjected to a digital cognitive test battery (CANTAB) in the evening prior to sleep and on the next morning after breakfast. Sleep quality was monitored with wrist actigraphs. Results There were no significant exposure effects on cognitive performance. Sleep efficiency was significantly lower at high ventilation with CO₂ at 700 ppm which is considered to be a chance effect. No other effects were seen, and no relation between air quality during sleep and next-morning cognitive performance was observed in the children emitting an estimated 10 l CO₂ /h per child. Conclusions No effect of CO₂ during sleep was found on next day cognition. The children were awakened in the morning, and spent from 45–70 min in well-ventilated rooms before they were tested. Hence, it cannot be precluded that the children have benefitted from the good indoor air quality conditions before and during the testing period. The slightly better sleep efficiency during high CO₂ concentrations might be a chance finding. Hence, replication is needed in actual bedrooms controlling for other external factors before any generalizations can be made.

Opis:
Fibre metal laminates (FMLs) consisting of layers made of PA6 polyamide prepregs reinforced with glass and carbon fibres and an aluminium alloy core are the new variant of the other types used by aerospace FML materials such as GLARE or CARALL. By using a thermoplastic matrix, they can be shaped by stamping processes, which allows for a more efficient production process than classical laminating methods such as vacuum bagging. In addition to the improved impact energy absorption efficiency, the metallic core can be utilised to effectively bond the composite part to adjacent metallic structures. This article presents the influence of the material configuration of fibre-metal laminates consisting of continuous fibre-reinforced thermoplastic outer layers integrated with a layer of metallic aluminium alloy inserts - a number of layers, type and direction of reinforcing fibres - on the static and fatigue flexural properties. In this study, eight laminate configurations were prepared using a one-step variothermal consolidation process. The results showed that in the three-point flexural fatigue test, the samples exceeded 106 cycles at stresses <30% of the static bending strength. Laminates with predominantly longitudinally reinforced layers showed the highest fatigue strength among the FML samples analysed. The type of reinforcing fibres and the number of layers were less affected on the analysed mechanical properties.
