Opis:
The study examined the relationship between the values of two indices evaluating the classification capacity of parameters characterizing the stereometric features of technical surfaces. The values of 83 3D parameters characterizing the stereometric features for 22 surfaces created in various machining processes were taken into account. The examined surfaces differ significantly in the stereometric characteristics of the surface with the similar value of the St parameter. The variance and the geometric mean of ordered parameter values differences were used as the indices of parameters classification ability. In particular, the existence, type and strength of relationship between the adopted indices were evaluated, and the model of the relationship between the indices was determined using the least-squares method. A comparison of the results obtained with those obtained from the analogous evaluation for 8 types of theoretical distributions of parameter values was also carried out.

The analysis of classification ability of the parameters used for the description of surfaces formed during the processes of technological processing constitutes important issue in the surface layer metrology. To investigate the classification ability, variance and geometric mean of the ordered differences of the parameter value. The study compares behaviour of both indices for different distributions of ordered differences of the parameter value. Moreover, the relationship between bot indices and influence of the number of minor differences of the parameter value on the value of variance and geometric mean.

Przeprowadzono laboratoryjne próby wytapiania stali z renem. Eksperymenty wytapiania poprzedzono analizą termiczną nadrenianu amonu wytwarzanego w kraju, który wybrano jako nośnik renu w zaplanowanych próbach, a także symulacjami komputerowymi wykonanymi przy użyciu programów: ThermoCalc i JMat Pro, celem określenia temperatury likwidus i solidus dla stali chromowych wytypowanych do badań. Próby wytapiania stali z renem przeprowadzono w trzech różnych piecach laboratoryjnych: otwartym z wykorzystaniem osłony gazu obojętnego i próżniowych z odgazowaniem stali w próżni i uzupełnieniem dodatku renu w atmosferze argonu przy obniżonym ciśnieniu. W sumie wykonano 6 wytopów wg pięciu wariantów technologicznych. Pręty kute z wytopów badawczych wykorzystano do badań metaloznawczych, które objęły analizę struktury oraz próby plastometryczne przeprowadzone za pomocą symulatora Gleeble 3800. W wyniku badań stwierdzono, że zapewniając odpowiednie warunki możliwe jest wytapianie stali z renem, przy użyciu jako jego nośnika nadrenianu amonu. Ograniczenie kontaktu nośnika renu z tlenem pozwoliło osiągnąć na poziomie 87% uzysk renu w stali.
Laboratory trials of rhenium containing steels smelting were conducted. The trials were preceded with thermal analysis of ammonium perrhenate produced in Poland, which was selected as rhenium carrier in smelting trials. The thermodynamics calculations were also performed with ThermoCalc and JMatPro computer programs. The aim of the calculations was to evaluate the solidus and liquidus temperatures of chromium steels selected for the investigation. The smelting trials were conducted with three different laboratory furnaces: open one with the inert gas protection and vacuum ones with steels’ de-gazing and addition of rhenium in the argon atmosphere with under lowered pressure. For plastometric tests conducted in Gleeble 3800, the smelts were forged into rods having 15 mm in diameter. The microanalysis of the non-metallic inclusions in the rods did not revealed the presence of rhenium combined in oxides. As a result, one can suppose that rhenium forms solid solution with the matrix. It was shown that ensuring proper conditions, it is possible to smelt rhenium containing steels using ammonium perrhenate as a carrier of rhenium. The protection of this carrier against oxygen allowed for the rhenium yield as high as 87% in the tested steels.

The investigations have been performed in order to choose the specific roughness parameters, which would inform the customer about the diffuse emissive and reflective characteristics of the adhesive tapes used in the thermographic measurements. To achieve that, a series of the surface topography parameters of various adhesive tapes (i.e. objects with diffusive reflective characteristics) and various glass plates (i.e. objects with directional reflective characteristics) has been examined. For the analysis of surface topography the following parameters were selected: Sdr (the Developed Interfacial Area Ratio) and Sdq (the Root Mean Square Surface Slope). These selected parameters seem to be most suitable to describe the properties of the surface in the discussed aspect.

Remote temperature sensing and thermal imaging systems [1, 2] are invaluable tools in various fields of science and technology. The fact that radiation is a function of object surface temperature makes it possible for remote temperature measurement systems to calculate this temperature. However, to measure temperature accurately with IR system, it is necessary to know emissivity. Emissivity is one of the major sources of error in radiometric measurements. Generally, emissivity is not constant as it depends on several parameters: temperature, viewing angle, wavelength, contamination or roughness. The article presents a laboratory heater which can be used to measure the thermal emissivity ε depending on the sample surface topography.
