    Opis:
    For the modern society it is very important to find some explanations of the historical events of the 20th century. The matter is that those events, which were so destructive with theirs totalitarian occupation, mass killing of the whole nations that they had a great influence on the behavior of people nowadays. It is extremely important that different cultural groups try to retrieve memory, which was lost in the result of different historical conditions. Literature has large contribution to this process by creating the artistic environment where the forgotten world can be remained with the help of memory. In the process of reflecting history modern literature very often creates the space of the retained and recovered memory. Arts also becomes the so-called therapy for societies, which have been injured as a result of genocide against the whole nations.

    У запропонованій статті дослідницьку увагу зосереджено на багатоаспектній проблемі, яку розглядаємо не лише в контексті літератури, а ширше, залучаючи історію, культуру й суспільно-політичні процеси в Україні. Поняття пам’яті ґрунтується на національному досвіді минулого, яке дуже часто впливає на основні аспекти розвитку сучасності. Особливо такий підхід актуальний у випадку травматичного досвіду історії. Своєчасно він не був переосмисленим і не став частиною суспільно-культурного дискурсу. В контексті цієї проблеми закцентовано також на аспекті жіночого виміру травматичної пам’яті історії, відображеного в окремих мистецьких творах. Саме цей досвід є чи не найменш проговореним в українській культурі, у чому суттєво переконує і здебільшого чоловічоцентрична література. Втім сучасні художні тексти пробують урівноважити ґендерний підхід до репрезентації минулого, досвід якого залишається суттєвим у посттоталітарній самосвідомості українців.
    The article is dedicated to a very important topic, which belongs not only to literature but also to Ukrainian history, culture and social life. Speaking about memory, we mean the experience of the past, which very often influences the main aspects of our modernity, in particular, if we are talking about traumatic experience of the history, which was not rethought and did not become a socio-cultural discourse. In the context of the mentioned research problem, the fact that women experience cruelty, humiliation, and injustice is one of those questions, which were not solved during the last decades of developing of democratic societies. Contemporary Ukrainian literature tries to find a solution of unfair reception of the past using a very important method of rethinking traumatic memory. That is why it becomes the subject of different researches, one of which is in the suggested article.

    The presented article refers to Chornobyl as a text of culture which reflects such important problems as nature, human, ecology and memory. These problems the author of the research interprets through the literary work by contemporary Ukrainian writer Markiian Kamysh. The sources of literary contents of the writer’s book are based on his own experience of illegal travel to the Exclusion Zone,called stalkering. The hero of the book pays attention to the existential need of the contemporary human—how to establish a dialogue with nature, and to reveal yourself in it. Chornobyl in literature about environment is not only a symbol of catastrophe, but a space of finding yourself as part of nature, history and culture.

    Contemporary Europe stands before the challenge of rethinking its own experience of totalitarian past with its many blank pages, which are highly important for modern societies. In this case we mostly talk about Soviet totalitarianism. Its ideological rhetoric changed the memory of a large part of Eastern and Central Europe. Ukraine, after the Revolution of Dignity and during the current war in Donbas, tries to prove that that totalitarian memory was illusory and cannot be valid now. The strategies for exposing the crimes of totalitarian regimes are suggested by the texts of contemporary culture, especially literature.

    The article is a scientific attempt to understand and present to the contemporary recipient the artistic dimension of war and its reflection in the cultural consciousness of the society of the twenty-first century. The author appeals to the literary diary titled Zhyttia P.S. (The Life P.S.), written by a soldier participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war in Donbas. Certain features of the work provide evidence that it is a hybrid war. For Ukrainians, it is a war for real memory. Most attention in the researching of the literary reception of this traumatic event is paid to three fundamental signs. The first one is the gender peculiarity – the story is told by a woman who fought at the front and lost there her beloved person, who was killed by the enemy. The second peculiarity is the feature of writing therapy, when writing the diary opened the possibility of release from the experienced trauma. And the third one is the genre of diary, which is a memoir and at the same time an artistic reflection of the image of war.

    The authors of the article analyze one of the contemporary Ukrainian novels – Home for Dom (Дім для Дома, 2015) of Viktoria Amelina. Original feature of the plot is that protagonist and narrator of this work is dog Dom (Dominic). Writer, using an animalistic hero, has achieved not only a success between readers but she also has founded a new version for emotional rethinking of the past. The matter is that Viktoria Amelina tried to reveal the peculiarities of individual, family, city and national memory. Dog’s perception of the past in the novel is the author’s effort to replace accents from total estimates to relative and subtle ones. Different “faces” of memory is a value which writer shows in the examples of one Lviv family history. She combines all difficult and contradictory processes of the twentieth century – wars, genocides, repression, deportation, enslavement of man and people.
