Purpose: The fundamental objective of this article is to discern whether business model maturity is perceived through the prism of the ability to deal with unexpected challenges, overcome unprecedented threats, and use emerging business opportunities (agility) or – perhaps – more as a feature of the organization, which makes a business model less vulnerable to unpredictable external changes or sets it in a better position to make it respond effectively to these changes (flexibility). Methodology: The reconnaissance of opinions requires the creation of a catalog of desiderata that significantly identify agility and flexibility. Theoretical and design layers will use a method of reconstruction and interpretation of the subject literature supported by a discussion within a group of deliberately selected experts. This will be reflected in a set of parameters, on the one hand, characteristic of the categories of agility and flexibility and, on the other hand, reflecting business model maturity. Findings: The conducted research allows us to state that mature business models – as implemented by the surveyed companies – are perceived rather through the prism of the strategic ability of enterprises to quickly adapt to unforeseen and sudden changes on the market (agility category). Originality: The article includes not only academic postulates of agility or flexibility but also practical tips that enable constructing guidelines for decision-makers and managers of the agricultural machinery sector. The study carries a charge of a theoretical and empirical study. It takes into account knowledge and expert experience.

Analiza parametrów technicznych rozrzutników obornika to obszar badawczy podjęty w niniejszym opracowaniu. Funda-mentalnym celem pracy jest zaprezentowanie właściwości technicznych, które z jednej strony są charakterystyczne dla ma-szyn o wskazanym przedziale ładowności (przystosowanych do prac rolniczych prowadzonych w małych oraz średnich gospodarstwach), z drugiej zaś mogą decydować o wyborze produktu określonego producenta. Osiągnięcie celu głównego wymagało sformułowania i zrealizowania celów cząstkowych, do których zaliczono: a) wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji wybranych dokumentów (kart technologicznych, dyrektyw, norm, itp.) wyselekcjonowanie - istotnych z perspektywy klienta i dostawcy - parametrów technicznych rozrzutników obornika; b) skompilowanie listy parametrów technicznych stanowiących fundament narzędzia badawczego. Skonkretyzowane eksplikacje stały się substratem definiującym właściwy kierunek dalszych prac badawczych (porównanie parametrów technicznych rozrzutników obornika wy-branych producentów), których wyniki zostaną zaprezentowane w przedłożonej części opracowania. Przystępując do badań przyjęto koncepcyjny wzorzec tezy: Parametry techniczne rozrzutników obornika o wskazanym przedziale ładowności, ze względu na wymogi rynku oraz konieczność dostosowania wyrobu do przepisów, są do siebie bardzo zbliżone niezależnie od producenta. Tym samym, na podstawie wybranych parametrów, trudno jest wskazać na wyrób, który w największym stopniu spełnia wymagania rynku. Postuluje się zatem, że źródłem przewagi konkurencyjnej będą parametry nietechnologiczne.
The maturity of agricultural machinery manufacturers in Poland is one of the research areas undertaken in this study. The fundamental goal of the work is to probe what factors decide on the one hand the choice of agricultural machinery, and on the other hand can constitute the foundation of the assessment from the perspective of the maturity of their manufacturers. Achieving the main goal required the formulation and implementation of sub-objectives, which included: a) Determining the importance of maturity from the perspective of flexibility of the producer (supplier); b) Using the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the literature on the subject - nomination of factors conditioning the choice of agricultural machinery; c) Compilation of the list of desiderates constituting the foundation of the research tool in the assessment model being the resultant literature exploration and discussion among deliberately selected field experts (agricultural machinery sector). Specific clarifications have become the substrate that defines the right direction for further research (assessment of significance of requirements), the results of which will be presented in the next part of the study.

Many researchers and business practitioners wonder about the limitations of the operation of manufacturing companies in Poland. At this point, the author asks the related question: What categories of problems will entrepreneurs have to solve in the near future (short strategic horizon)? In other words, what barriers will prevent (disrupt) the stable functioning of enterprises. The formulated question became the starting point and a creative synthesis based, on the one hand, on a detailed analysis of the problem theory, and, on the other, on the author’s own research. Achieving the main goal required the accomplishment of intermediate goals, among which the following were distinguished: (C1) a query of the literature in direct relation to the research topic (starting point); (C2) development of a theoretical research model (expert study); (C3) recognition of the significance of barriers - assessment from the perspective of manufacturers of the Polish agricultural machinery sector (verification of the research model). The research was carried out as a result of cooperation with deliberately selected experts. The intention of this study was to establish a list of factors unfavorable for the functioning of enterprises. The research tool prepared on this basis (evaluation questionnaire) was tested among intentionally selected enterprises. Based on the respondents’ indications, the significance of individual factors was established study.

W pracy przedstawiono jedną z możliwości kreowania wizerunku przez producentów maszyn rolniczych. Zwrócono uwagê na uzyskiwane w drodze konkursów prestiżowe wyróżnienia. Przyjêto, ¿e szczególnie rozpoznawalnym wyróżnieniem dla sprzętu rolniczego o największej funkcjonalności i innowacyjności, w którym zastosowane zostały unikatowe rozwiązania, technologie i nowoczesne materiały, jest Złoty Medal Międzynarodowych Targów Poznańskich. Podjęto próbę wskazania metodyki postępowania, która porządkuje wysiłki wytwórców zmierzające do nadania działaniom kreującym wizerunek charakteru planowych i ciągłych, logicznie następujących po sobie sekwencji działań. Wskazano na determinanty wyboru maszyny rolniczej w konkursie „Wyrób na Medal”, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem bezpieczeństwa ich użytkowania. Ponadto szczegółowo opisano etapy pozyskiwania znaku oraz obowiązki producenta wynikające z jego uzyskania
The paper presents one of the possibilities of creating the image by agricultural machinery producers. Attention was drawn to prestigious distinctions, obtained through the competition. There was assumed, that the Gold Medal of the Poznañ International Fair is a particularly recognizable award for agricultural equipment with the highest functionality and innovation, in which unique solutions, technologies and modern materials were used. An attempt have been made to indicate the methodology of procedure that organizes the efforts of the producers aiming at the actions of image creating of a planned and continuous character, sequence of actions which are logically consecutive. The determinants of the selection of the agricultural machine in the "Product for Medal" competition were pointed out, with particular emphasis on the safety of their use. In addition, the steps to obtain the mark and the obligations of the producer resulting from its acquisition are described in detail.

The fundamental objective of this research paper is to determine whether contemporary management is recognized traditionally, in the light of a strategy and the entailing methods of operation, adapted to the target recipients, based on knowledge and studies, strongly embedded in the market reality or perhaps more as a paradigm, in which the focal point is the architecture of business processes, which comprises a description of their conceptualization, the determination of individual and necessary stages of operations and the modelling of these process, i.e., a business model. Opinion reconnaissance requires – in the first place – to develop a catalogue of features clearly identifying a business model and a strategy. The theoretical and design layers will utilize a method of reconstructing and interpreting the source literature supported by a discussion among purposively selected experts. This will be reflected by a set of key identifiers, which quantify a strategy and a business model subject to further assessment by the representatives of agricultural machinery companies. On the empirical level, it is important to determine, which of the suggested dimensions truly capture the sense of the concept in terms of practical operations of the enterprises invited to the study. It seems that the complexity of the problems and the so far limited scientific recognition justify treatment of the mentioned issues as the subject matter of the research.
Fundamentalnym celem niniejszej pracy jest rozpoznanie czy współczesne zarządzanie postrzegane jest tradycyjnie przez pryzmat strategii i wynikających z niej metod działania, dostosowanej do docelowych odbiorców, opartej na wiedzy i badaniach, osadzonej mocno w realiach rynkowych czy może bardziej jako paradygmat, w którym punktem centralnym jest architektura procesów biznesowych, na którą składa się opis ich konceptualizacji, wyznaczenie poszczególnych i niezbędnych etapów działań operacyjnych oraz modelowanie tych procesów, tj. model biznesu. Rekonesans opinii wymaga – w pierwszej kolejności – sprokurowania katalogu cech istotnie identyfikujących strategię oraz model biznesu. W warstwie teoretycznej i projektowej wykorzystana zostanie metoda rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przedmiotu wsparta dyskusją w grupie celowo dobranych ekspertów. Znajdzie to swój wyraz w zestawie kluczowych identyfikatorów kwantyfikujących strategię oraz model biznesu podlegających dalszej ocenie wśród przedstawicieli przedsiębiorstw sektora maszyn rolniczych. Na płaszczyźnie empirycznej istotne jest ustalenie, które z zasugerowanych wymiarów najbardziej oddają sens pojęcia w kontekście praktycznych działań przedsiębiorstw zaproszonych do badań. Wydaje się, że złożoność problemów i małe, jak dotychczas, naukowe rozpoznanie uzasadniają traktowanie wymienionych kwestii jako przedmiotu badań.

Since many researchers and managers think about the essence, creation mechanisms and limits of the manufacturing model maturity, at this point, the author raises the question related to this issue: what dimensions (descriptions and desiderata) should be considered when conceptualizing this idea? The formulated question became a starting point and a point of conducting a creative synthesis, based, on the one hand, on a detailed analysis of the problem theory, and on the other hand – on the author’s own research. The above question and belief related to the existence of economic demand for results of application nature were the main inspiration to undertake research whose main purpose is to recognize: how the maturity of the business model is understood by selected experts operating in the Polish agricultural machinery sector?
Jako że wielu badaczy i zarządzających zastanawia się nad istotą, mechanizmami kreowania i granicami dojrzałości modelu biznesu, w tym miejscu autor stawia – związane z tym zagadnieniem – pytanie: jakie wymiary (deskrypty i dezyderaty) należy uwzględnić dokonując konceptualizacji tego pojęcia? Sformułowane pytanie stało się punktem wyjścia i przeprowadzenia twórczej syntezy opartej z jednej strony na szczegółowej analizie teorii problemu, a z drugiej na badaniach własnych autora. Powyższe pytanie oraz przekonanie o występowaniu gospodarczego zapotrzebowania na wyniki o charakterze aplikacyjnym stanowiły główną inspirację do podjęcia badań, których zasadniczym celem jest rozpoznanie jak dojrzałość modelu biznesu rozumieją wybrani eksperci działający w polskim sektorze maszyn rolniczych?

Background: In the light of the economic slowdown and significant strategic uncertainty resulting from the currently prevailing SARS-Cov-2 epidemic crisis, it is reasonable to undertake research to identify key competences that are relevant to the continuity of the supply chain functioning. The logistics processes in their current shape will undergo a significant change. Therefore, based on a widespread discussion that has been recently taking place in the environment of scientists, politicians, local government officials and management practitioners, the question once again arises about the level of preparation of enterprises for functioning in this specific environment. Aiming to fill the existing gap in knowledge, a series of studies was conducted, the main purpose of which was to recognize key competences from the point of view of existence in the conditions triggered by the COVID-19 crisis. Considering the empirical evidence confirming the existence of a strong relationship between company stability and an effective supply chain, the following research direction aggregates logistic microfoundations to the attribute of a „mature" enterprise. Methods: Referring to the outlined objective, using the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the literature on the subject, it was recommended to nominate questions assessing the level of maturity of logistics subsystems (theoretical layer) as a necessary action. At the conceptual (design) level, it was crucial to compile the research tool being the resultant of the related literature exploration (theoretical model) and discussion among deliberately selected experts („virtual" brainstorming). At the empirical level, this enabled the recognition of competences that determine the survival of enterprises in crisis conditions, and thus allowed the development of recommendations for managers of manufacturing enterprises. Results: The paper proposes a procedure and a tool to identify key capabilities that determine the survival of enterprises in COVID-19 crisis conditions. The brainstorming research model reflects the areas of digital technology that the manufacturers, in the context of the current pandemic, should absorb (coincidence). Moreover, it was established that the process of economic recovery will take place in cooperation with enterprises absorbing the logistic management model based on digital technologies. To sum up, it should be noted that the maturity of such an enterprise is manifested in the use of descriptions defined in the research, not only in terms of production, but also in the entire supply chain. All these activities need to be harmonized, creating a crisis-proof enterprise. The organization of such an enterprise is characterized by delegating as many tasks as possible to competent employees who, using the knowledge and available digital technologies, add value throughout the entire chain. Conclusions: The results of the research confirmed the author's belief that on the one hand digital technologies imply the possibility of surviving in the face of the crisis caused by COVID-19 (continuity of the supply chain, remote work without participation, or with limited human participation, etc.), on the other, implemented by enterprises, can be a kind of „protective shield" against the negative effects of a pandemic; from the perspective of the issue taken in the research work, they determine the maturity of the company's logistics subsystems. It seems that relatively small scientific recognition and complexity of problems occurring in business practice justify treating the COVID-19 issue as the subject of research, which is reflected in this publication.
Wstęp: W obliczu spowolnienia gospodarczego i znaczącej niepewności strategicznej będącej wynikiem panującego obecnie kryzysu epidemicznego SARS-Cov-2, zasadne jest podjęcie badań rozpoznających kompetencje kluczowe, istotne z punktu widzenia ciągłości funkcjonowania łańcucha dostaw. Procesy logistyczne w dotychczasowym kształcie ulegną bowiem istotnej zmianie. Dlatego też, na fali szerokiej dyskusji jaka się ostatnio toczy w środowisku naukowców, polityków, samorządowców czy praktyków zarządzania, po raz kolejny pojawia się pytanie o poziom przygotowania przedsiębiorstw do funkcjonowania w tym specyficznym otoczeniu. Dążąc do uzupełnienia istniejącej luki w wiedzy przeprowadzono cykl badań, których zasadniczym celem ustanowiono rozpoznanie kompetencji kluczowych z punktu widzenia egzystowania w warunkach kryzysu wywołanego COVID-19. Zważywszy na empiryczne dowody potwierdzające istnienie silnego związku pomiędzy stabilnością firmy a skutecznym łańcuchem dostaw, poniższy kierunek badań agreguje mikrofundamenty logistyczne do miana atrybutu „dojrzałego” przedsiębiorstwa. Metody: W nawiązaniu do nakreślonego celu, wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przedmiotu, jako działanie niezbędne zarekomendowano nominowanie pytań opiniujących poziom dojrzałości podsystemów logistycznych (warstwa teoretyczna). Na płaszczyźnie koncepcyjnej (projektowej) kluczowe było skompilowanie narzędzia badawczego będącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa (model teoretyczny) oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów („wirtualna” burza mózgów). Na płaszczyźnie empirycznej umożliwiło to rozpoznanie kompetencji przesądzających o przetrwaniu przedsiębiorstw w warunkach kryzysu i tym samym pozwoliło na opracowanie rekomendacji dla zarządzających przedsiębiorstwami wytwórczymi. Wyniki: W pracy zaproponowano procedurę i narzędzie umożliwiające identyfikację kluczowych zdolności przesądzających o przetrwaniu przedsiębiorstw w warunkach kryzysu COVID-19. Model badawczy powstały w wyniku burzy mózgów odzwierciedla obszary technologii cyfrowej, które w kontekście obecnej pandemii powinni absorbować wytwórcy (koincyndencja). Ponadto ustalono, iż proces odbudowy gospodarki będzie odbywał się przy współudziale przedsiębiorstw absorbujących model zarządzania logistycznego oparty na technologiach cyfrowych. Reasumując trzeba nadmienić, że dojrzałość takiego przedsiębiorstwa przejawia się zastosowaniem- zdefiniowanych w badaniach deskryptów- nie tylko w zakresie wytwarzania, ale także w zakresie całego łańcucha dostaw. Wszystkie te działania wymagają zharmonizowania, tworząc przedsiębiorstwo „odporne” na kryzys. Organizacja takiego przedsiębiorstwa charakteryzuje się przekazaniem możliwie największej liczby zadań kompetentnym pracownikom, którzy przy wykorzystaniu wiedzy i dostępnych technologii cyfrowych dodają wartość w całym łańcuchu. Wnioski: Wyniki badań utwierdziły autora w przekonaniu, że technologie cyfrowe z jednej strony implikujące możliwość przetrwana w obliczu kryzysu wywołanego COVID-19 (ciągłość łańcucha dostaw, praca zdalna bez udziału, lub przy ograniczonym udziale człowieka, itp.), z drugiej zaś implementowane przez przedsiębiorstwa, mogą stanowić swego rodzaju „tarczę ochronną” przed negatywnymi skutkami pandemii; z perspektywy podjętego w pracy zagadnienia stanowią o dojrzałości podsystemów logistycznych przedsiębiorstwa. Wydaje się, że stosunkowo małe naukowe rozpoznanie i złożoność problemów występujących w praktyce biznesowej uzasadniają traktowanie kwestii COVID-19 jako przedmiotu badań, czego wyraz stanowi niniejsza publikacja.

The publication describes research aimed at answering the question: which actions rationalize the costs in the production process of spare parts for agricultural machines as well as which of the mentioned actions and to which extent should be taken by Polish manufacturing companies operating in the sector subject to the research? The article is composed of two parts, i.e. theoretical-design and empirical. Using the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the subject literature – supported by experience, participatory observation as well as creative discussion among intentionally selected experts – under the first part – a catalog has been defined of postulated actions significantly rationalizing spare parts production costs. In the empirical scope (the second part of the publication), the intention of the authors was to determine the degree to which the defined actions should be taken by the companies subjected to the study.

Dojrzałość producentów maszyn rolniczych w Polsce to jeden z obszarów badawczych podjętych w niniejszym opracowaniu. Podstawowym celem opracowania jest wysondowanie jakie czynniki decydują o wyborze maszyn rolniczych, a w dalszej kolejności mogą one stanowić fundament oceny z perspektywy dojrzałości ich wytwórców. Osiągnięcie celu głównego wymagało sformułowania i zrealizowania celów cząstkowych, do których zaliczono: a) określenie znaczenia dojrzałości z perspektywy elastyczności producenta (dostawcy), b) wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przed-miotu nominowanie czynników warunkujących wybór maszyn rolniczych, c) skompilowanie listy dezyderatów stanowiących fundament narzędzia badawczego w modelu oceny będącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów dziedzinowych (sektor maszyn rolniczych). Skonkretyzowane eksplikacje stały się substratem definiującym właściwy kierunek dalszych prac badawczych (ocena istotności wymagań).
The maturity of agricultural machinery manufacturers in Poland is one of the research areas undertaken in this study. The fundamental goal of the work is to probe what factors decide on the one hand the choice of agricultural machinery, and on the other hand can constitute the foundation of the assessment from the perspective of the maturity of their manufacturers. Achieving the main goal required the formulation and implementation of sub-objectives, which included: a) determining the importance of maturity from the perspective of flexibility of the producer (supplier), b) using the method of re-construction and interpretation of the literature on the subject - nomination of factors conditioning the choice of agricul-tural machinery, c) compilation of the list of desiderates constituting the foundation of the research tool in the assessment model being the resultant literature exploration and discussion among deliberately selected field experts (agricultural machinery sector). Specific clarifications have become the substrate that defines the right direction for further research (assessment of significance of requirements).

Przedmiotem badań zasadniczych opisanych w artykule są determinanty wyboru maszyn rolniczych, stanowiące fundament oceny z perspektywy dojrzałości ich wytwórców. Badania prowadzono z punktu widzenia małych, średnich i dużych przedsiębiorstw. Głównym celem badań była próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie czynniki - z punktu widzenia nabywcy - są kluczowe i determinują jego decyzję o wyborze określonej maszyny rolniczej. Osiągnięcie celu głównego wymagało zidentyfikowania czynników warunkujących decyzje (model determinant), które poddano eksploracji; walidacja modelu teoretycznego (ocena istotności wymagań). Takie działanie pozwoliło na wnioskowanie sprofilowane na wskazanie rekomendacji dotyczącej sposobu i kierunku doskonalenia w zakresie oferowanych maszyn i związanych z tym procesów projektowania i produkcji.
The subject of the research of this study - constituting the basic research - are the determinants of the selection of agricultural machinery, which are the foundation of the assessment from the perspective of the maturity of their manufacturers. The research was conducted from the perspective of small, medium and large enterprises. The fundamental goal of the re-search is to try to answer the question: what factors - from the buyer's point of view - are key and determine his decision to choose a specific agricultural machine. Achieving the main goal required the identification of factors conditioning decisions (determinant model), which was explored in the presented part of the study; validation of the theoretical model (assessment of significance of requirements). Such an action allowed inference profiled to indicate a recommendation regarding the method and direction of improvement in the field of offered machines and related design and production processes.

Eco-design, a new stage in product development, has been gaining in importance for some years already. Against this backdrop, a series of studies was conducted aimed principally to assess environmental maturity of enterprises reflected in considering environmental aspects at early stages of product design when decisions are made, inter alia, as to materials that will be used, production technologies, and product durability. With regard to the above stated goal, the following actions have been recommended as necessary: at the theoretical level, identifying prerequisites against which we can assess the degree of environmental maturity using the reconstruction methodology and subject-matter literature review; at the project level, developing a research tool in the form of an evaluation sheet as a product of the exploration of writings and discussions held by a purposefully selected group of experts; and at the empirical level, identification of the eco-maturity degree of agricultural machinery manufacturers. In the context of the above stated goal, it seems justified to plan the studies based on literature review, expert knowledge, creative discussion, and direct interviews with selected representatives of the industry covered by the research. To managers, these studies having solid theoretical foundations should provide grounds for evaluation and inspire them to build their own eco-design strategies.

Doskonalenie kompetencji pracowników wykonawczych może usprawnić wszystkie procesy realizowane w przedsiębiorstwie. Artykuł składa się z dwóch części, tj. teoretycznej i empirycznej. Wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przedmiotu – wspartą praktycznymi doświadczeniami, obserwacją uczestniczącą oraz twórczą dyskusją wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów – w ramach części pierwszej zbudowano, odniesiony do kluczowych obszarów postulowanych korzyści, formularz oceny. W wymiarze empirycznym (część druga publikacji) intencją autorów było ustalenie, w jakim stopniu – poprzez doskonalenie kompetencji – wskazane korzyści chciałyby generować poddane badaniu przedsiębiorstwa.

The industry transformation to the digital model 4.0 will be a significant change from the perspective of the organisation and processes. In the context of the above, the research was undertaken, the principal aim of which constituted the attempt to answer the question concerning the technological advancement level of manufacturing companies operating in the agricultural machinery sector. It is about identifying what adaptation projects in the context of the fourth generation industry era should be undertaken by the Polish manufacturers operating in the agricultural machinery sector. The achievement of the main objective required formulation and implementation of partial objectives, which, according to the authors, include: C(1) – defining the Industry 4.0 axiom merit; C(2) – using the subject literature reconstruction and interpretation methods – nomination of areas, on the one hand essential from the perspective of the model 4.0, and on the other hand those that may demonstrate the maturity in the domain of the adopted desiderata; C(3) – compilation of the research model, in the form of an assessment sheet, being a resultant of literature studies and research conducted among deliberately selected domain experts; C(4) – based on the selected indicators, the technological advancement level recognition of the studied companies; specification of a technological gap (questioning among experts).
