Opis:
The present work is devoted to investigation of optical absorption changes in Fe and Cu doped LiNbO₃ (LNO) single crystals induced during annealing in vacuum and air as well as under influence of the ²⁰⁹Bi ions irradiation with energy 11.4 MeV/u (MeV per nucleon) and a fluence 5×10¹¹ cm¯² at room temperature. The analysis of changes of absorption of the crystal during air annealing have been studied in the Arrhenius coordinates and activation energies have been determined.

The present work is devoted to investigation of optical absorption in pure $Ca_4GdO(BO_3)_3$ single crystals in the spectral range 0.2-1.1 μm induced under influence of the gamma quanta irradiation with absorbed dose $2 \times 10^3$ Gy. The effect of heating in air on the absorption spectrum of irradiated sample is also studied.

The work is devoted to investigation of stable coloration induced by gamma radiation from $\text{}^{60}Co$ (1.25 MeV) in pure and neodymium doped $Ca_{0.28}Ba_{0.72}Nb_{2}O_{6}$ single crystals. Nature of the induced absorption is discussed. This absorption is due to charge change of native defects or ions forming of crystals (vacancy, niobium ions, etc.). The nature of color centers responsible for induced absorption is discussed.

Praca stanowi syntetyczne ujęcie zagadnień związanych z kompleksowymi badaniami wpływu promieniowania (kwanty gamma, UV, elektrony, szybkie neutrony) na własności optyczne niedomieszkowanych i domieszkowanych wieloskładnikowych kryształów tlenkowych typu ABO3, otrzymanych w ITME: perowskitu itrowo-glinowego i niobianu litu. Zmiany własności optycznych tych kryształów wkutek napromieniowania są wynikiem powstawania centrów barwnych, zarówno poprzez zmianę stanu ładunkowego defektów wzrostowych jak i tworzenia się defektów radiacyjnych w wyniku przemieszczenia atomów.
Comprehensive results of researches about influence of gamma quanta, UV, electrons and fast neutrons radiation on optical properties of undoped and doped multicomponents oxide single crystals ABO3 type: yttrim alumina perovskit (YAP) and lithium nobate (LN). Changes of optical properties as effect of radiation are result of colour centre creation by means of electric charge in genetic defects changes or creation of radiation defects with displacement.

In this work the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of Al2O3 and ZrO2 powders were measured for different size of grains (0.074, 0.044 mm) as well as the mullites (0.07 and 0.12 mm). Also were investigated the ceramic cores. The measurements were performed at room temperature and in the temperature range from 140 up to 380 K. The main purpose of this work was to investigate the possible relationships between the EPR spectra and the size of powder grains as well as the identification of EPR spectra in view of the potential application of EPR technique as a fingerprinting method.

The present work is devoted to investigation of optical absorption in pure $Gd_{3}Ga_{5}O_{12}$ (GGG) single crystals in the spectral range 0.2-1.1 μm induced under influence of the $\text{}^{235}U$ ions irradiation with energy 2640 MeV and a fluence $10^{9}-10^{11} cm^{-2}$. The induced absorption for $10^{9} cm^{-2}$ is caused by recharging of point defects, both growth ones and impurities. After irradiation by $\text{}^{235}U$ ions with fluences starting from $3 \times 10^{9} cm^{-2}$ the absorption rise is probably caused by contribution of the lattice destroying as a result of heavy ion bombardment as well as radiation displacement defects.

Opis:
First experimental investigations on absorption and photoluminescence of the novel $Hg_{3}TeCl_{4}$ monocrystals grown by the Bridgman method are reported. A comparison of the measurement results with theoretical band structure calculations of the $Hg_{3}TeCl_{4}$ crystal confirmed that $Hg_{3}TeCl_{4}$ is a wide-band-gap photoconductor ($E_{g}$ = 3.64 eV at 24 K) with the effective masses of charge carriers characteristic for semiconductors. Energetic position of the main photoluminescence peak and its temperature dependence indicates the presence of an additional energy level in the energy gap which takes part in the radiative recombination process and whose origin was discussed.

The results of X-band electron paramagnetic resonance measurements of Mn2+ and Mn4+ ions in YAlO3 (YAP) crystals in the temperature range 100–300 K are presented. Additionally, we observe electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of unintentional impurities Fe3+ and Cr3+ in YAP crystals. The angular dependence for Mn ions in YAP crystals can be presented. We aim at obtaining a better insight into the spectroscopic properties of paramagnetic Mn centers and structural information about their nearest environment in YAP host and at determining the valence of manganese ion. In this paper we compare electron paramagnetic resonance spectra for Co and Mn ions in YAP crystals.

The results of experimental investigation of structural and physical properties of ZnO and ZnMnO films are presented in this work. The films of ZnO and $Zn_{1-x}Mn_{x}O$ of different thickness were obtained on $Al_{2}O_{3}$, glass, and KCl substrates in vacuum of 1 × $10^{-5}$ Torr by the pulsed laser deposition method. The samples were obtained under the substrate temperature 300-473 K. A thickness of films was in the range of 0.5-1 μm depending on the number of laser pulses. The structure of target bulk materials was investigated by X-ray diffraction method. A structure of laser deposited films was investigated by the transmission high-energy electron diffraction method. Electric resistivity was measured in the temperature range 77-450 K. The presence of two activation energies in the temperature range 300-330 K and 330-450 K is followed from the analysis of the films electrical resistivity. These activation energies correspond to two deep donor's energy levels. The shallow donor's level is connected with manganese presence. Optical transmission of ZnO and ZnMnO films deposited at various temperatures were investigated.

A series of copper oxide thin films were synthesized through direct current magnetron sputtering on glass and silicon substrates with various process parameters. Initially, optical microscopy images and their histograms were analyzed to determine the optical quality of the obtained layers and then histograms were created using Image Histogram Generator software. Next, the morphology, and cross-section and layer composition of the samples were evaluated. Finally, the transmission spectra of the thin films were recorded. Transmittance and reflection spectra of the UV–vis analysis were utilized to calculate the optical band gap, the extinction coefficient, and the absorption coefficient of the oxidized layers. Samples showed low transmittance (up to 40%) in the region of 400 to 1000 nm. The mean absorption coefficient varied from ~3 · 105 to ~6 · 105 1/cm and from ~2 · 105 to ~4 · 105 1/cm in the region of 2 eV to 3.5 eV. The extinction coefficient ranged from 0 to 0.11 in the region from 300 to 3000 nm. Reflectance of the samples was ~20% in the region of 1000 to 2500 nm and ranged from 20%-50% in the region of 1000 to 3000 nm. We verified the process parameters of the Cu2O structure to improve the quality as a buffer layer. On the basis of this preliminary analysis, we propose the most promising and future-oriented solutions in photovoltaic applications.
