Opis:
Protanastrophia repanda gen. et sp. nov. is a reef−dwelling parastrophinid brachiopod in the Lower Silurian (uppermost Telychian) Attawapiskat Formation of the Hudson Bay region of Canada. It is characterized by a small, quasi−smooth shell with gentle anterior costae, a tendency towards an asymmetrical, sigmoidal anterior commissure, and widely separate, subparallel inner hinge plates. Protanastrophia first appeared in the marginal seas of Siberia (Altai, Mongolia) during the Late Ordovician, retaining the primitive character of discrete inner hinge plates in the superfamily Camerelloidea, and preferred a carbonate mound depositional environment. It survived the Late Ordovician mass extinction and subsequently spread to Baltica and Laurentia during Early Silurian (Llandovery) time. Superficially similar asymmetrical shells of Parastrophina portentosa occur in the Upper Ordovician carbonate mound facies of Kazakhstan but differ internally from the new genus in having a septum−supported septalium. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that, within the Camerelloidea, asymmetrical shells with a sigmoidal anterior commissure evolved in Protanastrophia repanda and Parastrophina portentosa independently during the Late Ordovician as a case of homoplasy. The two species belong to separate parastrophinid lineages that evolved in widely separate palaeogeographic regions.

Opis:
In the Derenjal Mountains of east Central Iran, the upper part of the Shirgesht Formation (uppermost Darriwilian) contains a distinct trilobite assemblage that includes Neseuretinus birmanicus and Ovalocephalus aff. obsoletus among others. Both genera were previously unknown in Iran. The occurrence of Ovalocephalus represents the earliest sign of westward taxon migration from China towards higher latitudes along the West Gondwanan margin, which may be related to global warming, after a short episode of cooler climate in the early to mid Darriwilian. Patterns of biogeographical distribution of Ovalocephalus and Neseuretinussuggest that Central Iran was part of an “overlap zone” where tropical and high latitude benthic taxa mingled.

Opis:
An abundant early Silurian brachiopod assemblage of 14 species, with strong affinities to the early Rhuddanian faunas of Britain and Baltoscandia, was recovered from the Akkerme Peninsula, on the western side of Lake Balkhash, southern Central Kazakstan. The occurrence of Stricklandia lens mullochensis, which is ttre earliest member of the Stricklandia-Costistricklandia lineage, dates this brachiopod assemblage as early Rhuddanian, within a stratigraphic interval from the Akidograptus acuminatus to the lower part of the Monagraptus cyphus graptolite biozones. This is the first well documented record of early Rhuddanian brachiopods in Kazakhstan. The assemblage also includes Meifodia tulkulensis sp. nov. and Eospirifer cinghizicus with well preserved spiralia. The co-occurrence of Stricklandia lens mullochensis and Eospirifer cinghizicus has not been recorded previously and is regarded here as the most signiffcant difference between the early Rhuddanan brachiopod faunas of the Baltic (East-European) Plate and Britain; in contrast Eospirifer first appears in the two latter areas in the late Llandovery.

Detailed biogeographical and biofacies analyses of the Late Ordovician brachiopod faunas with 160 genera, grouped into 94 faunas from individual lithotectonic units within the Kazakh Orogen strongly support an archipelago model for that time in that area. The Kazakh island arcs and microcontinents within several separate clusters were located in the tropics on both sides of the Equator. Key units, from which the Late Ordovician faunas are now well known, include the Boshchekul, Chingiz-Tarbagatai, and Chu-Ili terranes. The development of brachiopod biogeography within the nearly ten million year time span of the Late Ordovician from about 458 to 443 Ma (Sandbian, Katian, and Hirnantian), is supported by much new data, including our revised identifications from the Kazakh Orogen and elsewhere. The Kazakh archipelago was west of the Australasian segment of the Gondwana Supercontinent, and relatively near the Tarim, South China and North China continents, apart from the Atashu-Zhamshi Microcontinent, which probably occupied a relatively isolated position on the south-western margin of the archipelago. Distinct faunal signatures indicate that the Kazakh terranes were far away from Baltica and Siberia throughout the Ordovician. Although some earlier terranes had joined each other before the Middle Ordovician, the amalgamation of Kazakh terranes into the single continent of Kazakhstania by the end of the Ordovician is very unlikely. The Late Ordovician brachiopods from the other continents are also compared with the Kazakh faunas and global provincialisation statistically determined.

Opis:
Salix viminalis L. is a broadly cultivated willow species that has been intensively used for breeding purposes, particularly in selection of clones and hybrids for biomass production. The present study aimed to explore and compare growth and adaptability of two basket willow (Salix viminalis L.) clonal varieties - rubra and purpurea - at the specific edaphic and climate conditions and cultivation practice presented in an experimental plantation in North Central Bulgaria. The influence of spacing, genotype, root age and rotation on their productivity were also investigated and allometric relationships for non-destructive estimation of woody plant biomass were suggested. The trial plantation was established in the spring of 2018 as 4 sectors of a Nelder wheel plot with 15 nearly-square spacings, ranging from 0.25 to 9.80 m2 (40000–1020 plants per hectare). The two varieties were arranged in 4 four-spoke sectors (2 sectors per clone). Data collection took place from 2018 to 2020 and comprised 1- and 2-year rotations. The study showed that Salix viminalis var. rubra was more susceptible to desiccation-causing adverse climatic changes, poorly adapted to the specific conditions of the study site and gradually died out during the second and the third year. Salix viminalis var. purpurea exhibited steady survival rate (97 - 77%) and annual biomass productivity varying from 3 to 17 Mg/ha/year across the densities, sectors and years. During the first year of growth purpurea variety had a significantly higher plant weight and sprout number than rubra variety. Growing space affected positively the number of shoots and tree dendromass, and sprouting was reinforced by coppicing that doubled the shoot number during the subsequent rotation. This was reflected in the development of the stump-level allometric models that were differentiated according to rotation. The stump-level allometric model of higher predictive power was based on the main shoot length and shoot number. An exponential relationship to the breast-height shoot diameter was also suggested for biomass estimation of each sprout separately.

A medium−diversity fauna of late Ordovician rhynchonelliformean brachiopods occurs in the Tauken Formation (upper Caradoc–lowermost Ashgill) of north Central Kazakhstan. It demonstrates close similarity to the approximately contemporaneous faunas characteristic of shallow clastic shelves (BA 2–3) of the Chingiz and Chu−Ili ranges (both in Kazakhstan) and South China, but is characterized by a high proportion of endemic new species, including Tetraphalerella bestiubensis sp.nov., Glyptomena kaskolica sp.nov., Dinorthis taukensis sp.nov., Rhynchotrema seletensis sp.nov., and Nalivkinia (Pronalivkinia)zvontsovisp.nov.The abundance of Rhynchotrema is somewhat unusual by comparison with faunas from other Kazakhstanian terranes, where rhynchonellides of the family Ancistrorhynchidae are usually dominant in near−shore biofacies. The occurrence of the atrypides Sulcatospira and early Nalivkinia demonstrates a clear biogeographical linkage with approximately contemporaneous faunas of South China.

A new, unusual rhynchonellide brachiopod Jafarirhynchus alatus assigned to the newly established family Jafarirhynchidae is described from the Silurian (Telychian) of the Boghu Mountains in east-central Iran. It forms a low diversity association with the spiriferide Striispirifer? ocissimus, which exhibits well preserved calcified brachial supports. A strophic shell, well-developed ventral interarea and liberosessile mode of life make this taxon unique among Palaeozoic rhynchonellide brachiopods. In spite of a superficial similarity to spiriferides and the atrypide family Davidsonioidea, Jafarirhynchus retains the typical rhynchotrematoid cardinalia with a septalium supported by the median septum, a septiform cardinal process and long, raduliform crura. It is considered as an offshoot of the local lineage, which includes two successive species of Stegocornu (family Rhynchotrematidae) which proliferated in Central Iran and adjacent Afghanistan during Aeronian time.

A low diversity association made up of the lingulid Tunisiglossa almalensis Popov and Mambetov, sp. nov. and the gastropod Ptychonema agyris Ebbestad, sp. nov. is described from the Upper Member of the Almaly Formation at Kyrgyz Range, North Tien Shan, Kyrgyzstan/Kazakhstan. The specimens co−occur in dense coquinas, made up of different sized individuals, deposited in a shallow water, intertidal, and storm driven depositional environment. The lingulid shells display a completely reduced dorsal pseudointerarea typical of Glossellinae, and the smooth shell lacking fine external granulation, radial or pitted ornament, a small ventral pseudointerarea, and no dorsal median ridge place it in the hitherto monotypic Tunisiglossa known previously only from the Lower Ordovician (Tremadocian) Sanrhar Formation of Libya. It compares with Ectenoglossa sorbulakensis that is widespread in the lower to middle Caradocian Anderken Formation of Chu−Ili Range in southern Kazakhstan. Gastropods of this age have not been reported earlier in Kyrgyzstan; neither can Ptychonema be compare with any taxon in the gastropod association earlier described from the contemporary Anderken Formation in Kazakhstan. Ptychonema is otherwise commonly associated with peri−Gondwana terranes, but the Late Ordovician dispersal pattern of the genus is unknown. Overall, however, the Upper Ordovician faunas of North Tien Shan show close similarities to contemporaneous faunas of the Chu−Ili terrane, which have strong biogeographic signatures linking them to the faunas of South and North China.

Ordovician ostracods are described for the first time from Iran, enhancing the record of this group from the Lower Palaeozoic of the Middle East. The ostracods occur in the Shirgesht Formation, in the east central part of the country, and comprise Ogmoopsis achaemenid sp. nov., Cerninella aryana sp. nov., Ordovizona amyitisae sp. nov., cf. Aechmina? ventadorni, Vogdesella sp., and podocope taxa tentatively identified as species of Longiscula, Pullvillites, and Rectella. These taxa were hitherto unknown from this region. The ostracod−bearing interval is associated with trilobites (Neseuretinus) and brachiopods (Nicolella) that suggest a late Middle Ordovician age. Although the ostracod fauna is small, it demonstrates biogeographical links at genus−level, and possibly at species−level, with the fauna of the late Middle Ordovician Travesout Formation of western France, which also lay in a peri−Gondwanan palaeogeographical setting. It also suggests the potential use of some ostracods as stratigraphical tools for correlating Ordovician rock successions between Europe and the Middle East.

The Silurian biostratigraphy, lithostratigraphy, and facies of Central Iran including the Kashmar (Boghu Mountains), Tabas (Derenjal Mountains, Ozbak-Kuh), Anarak (Pol-e Khavand) and Kerman regions is reviewed and updated. The current state of knowledge of the Silurian in the Zagros Basin, Alborz, Kopet-Dagh and Talysh regions, as well as in a few areas scattered across the Sabzevar Zone, and the Sanandaj-Sirjan terranes is also reviewed. Silurian volcanism in various parts of Iran is briefly discussed. The end of the Ordovician coincided with a widespread regression across Iran synchronous with the Hirnantian glaciation, and only in the Zagros Basin is there a continuous Ordovician–Silurian transition represented by graptolitic black shales of the Sarchahan Formation. In the Central-East Iranian Platform marine sedimentation re-commenced in the early to mid Aeronian. By the Sheinwoodian, carbonate platform depositional environments were established along its north-eastern margin. In other parts of Iran (e.g., Kopet-Dagh and the Sabzevar Zone), siliciclastic sedimentation continued probably into the late Silurian. The Silurian conodont and brachiopod biostratigraphy of Central Iran is significantly updated facilitating a precise correlation with the Standard Global Chronostratigraphic Scale, as well as with key Silurian sections in other parts of Iran. The Silurian lithostratigraphy is considerably revised and two new lithostratigraphical units, namely the Boghu and Dahaneh-Kalut formations, are introduced.

Opis:
The Ordovician sedimentary succession of the Pol-e Khavand area, situated on the northern margin of the Yazd block, has important differences from those in other parts of Central Iran. It has been established that the presumably terminal Cambrian to Lower Ordovician volcano-sedimentary Polekhavand Formation, exposed in the Pol-e Khavand area, has non-conformable contact with greenschists of the Doshakh Metamorphic Complex. The succeeding, mainly siliciclastic Chahgonbad Formation contains low to moderately diverse faunal assemblages, including brachiopods, cephalopods, trilobites and tentaculitids. The Darriwilian age of the lower part of the formation is well established by the co-occurrence of brachiopod genera Camerella, Phragmorthis, Tritoechia and Yangtzeella. The associated rich cephalopod fauna is different from the Darriwilian cephalopod associations of the Alborz terrane and may show some affinity with warm water faunas of North China and South Korea. It is likely that the Mid Ordovician fauna recovered from the lower part of the Chahgonbad Formation settled in the area sometime during a warming episode in the late Darriwilian. By contrast the low diversity mid Katian brachiopod association includes only three taxa, which occur together with the trilobite Vietnamia cf. teichmulleri and abundant, but poorly preserved tentaculitids questionably assigned to the genus Costatulites. This faunal association bears clear signatures linking it to the contemporaneous cold water faunas of the Arabian, Mediterranean and North African segments of Gondwana. Four brachiopod species recovered from the Chahgonbad Formation, including Hibernodonta lakhensis, Hindella prima, Lomatorthis? multilamellosa and Yangtzeella chupananica are new to science.

The article contains technical description of the tool and the unit used for basic and pre-sowing soil cultivation and sowing: a combined unit for basic non-plough soil cultivation and the cultivation and sowing unit. Results of the research on the efficiency of their use in the soil and climatic conditions of the north and eastern European part of Russia were presented. The analysis of the agrophysical properties of soil showed that the relative moisture of soil in the 0-10 cm layer did not depend on the manner of the basic and pre-sowing cultivation, but in the 0-20 cm layer the decrease of the soil moisture by 0.9-1.4% was reported after the use of KBM -4,2 cultivator and after cultivation with with APPN-2,1 (LSD05=0.63) unit. All the tested units ensured optimal density of the cultivated layer of the sod podzol soil within 1.1-1.3 g·cm-3. The water content of soil in the cultivation of winter rye in the non-plough cultivation with KPA-2,2 unit was higher by 1.5 mm in comparison to cultivation after ploughing (LSD05=0.51). No differences were reported in cultivation of vetch with oats. A non-plough cultivation of soil was also characterized with better values of indexes of the grain size distribution in comparison to the plough. The use of the cultivation and sowing unit APPN-2.1allowed decrease of energy inputs by 366 MJ·ha-1 (45.7%) compared to the total inputs on cultivation with KPS-4,0, fertilization and sowing. Sowing with the unit APPN-2.1 influenced the increase of the winter rye yield by 0.88 t·ha-1 compared to cultivation with KPS-4,0 and plough (LSD05AB=0.8). In the conditions with the use of APPN-2,1 the yield of dry mass of vetch and oats was higher by 0.75 t·ha-1 compared to the variants with KBM-4,2 (LSD05B=0.39).
W artykule zamieszczono charakterystyki techniczne narzędzia do podstawowej i agregatu do przedsiewnej uprawy gleby i siewu: kombinowanego agregatu do podstawowej bezorkowej uprawy gleby, agregatu uprawowo-siewnego.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to compare the physico-chemical and biological properties of polymeric nanoparticles obtained from poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) with different ratios of monomers loaded with daunorubicin (DNR). Methods: DNR-loaded nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared with use of modified simultaneous double-emulsion solvent evaporation/diffusion technique. NPs were characterized using dynamic light scattering, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Results: NPs with DNR were differing in size and zeta potential, depending on the type of polymer. The data obtained show that total content of DNR correlates with the values of the binding constant of DNR with polymers. The release of DNR from NPs proceeds predominantly for polymers with lower binding constants. The in vitro study of NPs on the MCF-7 cells showed similar activity of particles and substances while for the anthracycline-resistant MCF-7Adr cells the cytotoxicity of the nanoparticles was 3 to 7 times higher depending on the type of copolymer. Conclusions: PLGA DNR-loaded nanoparticles can be used to overcome multidrug resistance (MDR) as well as for reducing the frequency of DNR reception due to the prolonged effect, which allows maintaining the concentration of the drug at the required level. The usefulness of binding constant calculations for obtaining nanoparticles with the maximum drug loading was proven. The rate of drug administration and the frequency of administration can be calculated based on the DNR release profiles and release parameters that depend on polymer type.
