Opis:: Performance evaluation of the multiple output queueing (MOQ) switch recently proposed by us is discussed in this paper. In the MOQ switch both the switch fabric and buffers can operate at the same speed as input and output ports. This solution does not need any speedup in the switch fabric as well as any matching algorithms between inputs and outputs. In this paper new performance measures for the proposed MOQ switch are evaluated. The simulation studies have been carried out for switches with different buffer arrangements strategy and of capacity 2×2, 4×4, 8×8, 16×16 and 32×32, and under selected traffic patterns. The simulations results are also compared with OQ switches of the same sizes.

Although aerating additives have been used in construction for more than 20 years, the quality of aeration is still far from ideal. This article presents the results of research into the effect of selected technological factors on the final effectiveness of concrete aeration.

Opis:: W artykule omówiono problematykę akustyki posterunków nastawczych. Scharakteryzowano parametry akustyczne wykorzystane do oceny tego typu pomieszczeń oraz ich zalecane wartości na podstawie norm krajowych i międzynarodowych. Przedstawiono wyniki badań właściwości akustycznych pomieszczeń oraz hałasu w wybranych posterunkach nastawczych. Omówiono również badania ankietowe pracowników dotyczące subiektywnej oceny hałasu. Wyniki pomiarów wykazały, że zarówno hałas jak i właściwości akustyczne pomieszczeń, poza pojedynczymi przypadkami, spełniają wymagania określone w normach. W badaniach odnotowano natomiast wysokie poziomy tła akustycznego. Jedynie w dwóch pomieszczeniach hałas tła zawierał się w zalecanym zakresie. Mimo ocen ankietowanych wskazujących na uciążliwość hałasu w środowisku pracy nie wykazano istotnej statystycznie korelacji pomiędzy wynikami pomiarów a subiektywną oceną uciążliwości hałasu.
The article discusses the issues of acoustics in railway control centres. Acoustic parameters used to assess this type of premises are presented and their recommended values based on national and international standards are given. The article also discusses the results of noise and room acoustics measurements in selected centres and subjective assessment of noise by employees. The measurement results showed that both noise and acoustic properties of the rooms in most cases meet the requirements specified in the standards. However, the study indicates high levels of background noise. Only in two of tested control centres background noise levels were within the recommended range. Although survey results indicating a nuisance of noise in the work environment, there was no statistically significant correlation between the acoustic measurements and subjective assessment of noise nuisance.

Opis:: The inversion method was used to test vibroacoustic processes in large-size machines used in opencast mines of rock material. When this method is used, the tested machine is replaced with a set of substitute sources, whose acoustic parameters are determined on the basis of sound pressure levels and phase shift angles of acoustic signals, measured with an array of 24 microphones. This article presents test results of a combine unit comprising a crusher and a vibrating sieve, for which an acoustic model of 7 substitute sources was developed with the inversion method.

Opis:: Dynamic development of wind power should take into account requirements resulting from environmental protection and human health. However in the case of occupational exposure to noise emitted by wind turbines (workplaces of wind turbine operation personnel, including persons performing maintenance) there are no documented data in literature in this regard. An example of pilot assessments of noise and infrasonic noise at workplaces in a wind farm is presented in the paper. The results of measurements and assessments of noise emitted by the wind turbines Vestas V80-2.0 MW show that noise does not constitute health hazard for wind farm workers. Furthermore infrasonic noise emitted by the wind turbines Vestas V80-2.0 MW is not an annoyance agent for wind farm workers.
