    Opis:
    Corrosion mechanism and rate of different chemical composition and structural condition of wheel steel were investigated. It was shown that “white layers”, variation in grain size and banding of wheel steel structure results in corrosion rate. Microstructure of steel from different elements of railway wheels after operation with corrosion was investigated. Wheel steel with addition of vanadium corroded more quickly than steel without vanadium. Non-metallic inclusions are the centre of corrosion nucleation and their influence on corrosion depends on type of inclusion. Mechanism of corrosion of wheel steel corrosion was discussed.

    The traditional and optimization approaches to substantiation of the parameters of agricultural drainage and the results of their comparative effectiveness are considered. The results of calculation of the defined yields of crops grown at appropriate levels of drainage efficiency show that in given conditions the optimal distance between the drains at the lowest level of the hierarchy of crop performance varied from 20 m for potatoes in peat up to 38 m for cereals on sand at the appropriate change of calculation of the drainage runoff module across the entire spectrum of efficiency from ecological drainage of 0.4 m2∙day–1 to the economic one of 0.85 m2∙day–1.
    Analizowano tradycyjne i optymalizacyjne sposoby ustalania parametrów systemu drenarskiego na obszarach rolniczych oraz oceniono ich względną skuteczność. Rozpatrywano wielkość plonu wybranych upraw rosnących na terenach z różnymi rozstawami drenów. Oceniono, że w danych warunkach glebowych optymalny rozstaw drenów na najniższym poziomie wydajności zmieniał się od 20 m dla ziemniaków uprawianych na torfie do 38 m dla zbóż uprawianych na piaskach. Moduł odpływu z sieci drenażowej wahał się od wydajności ekologicznej 0,4 m2∙dzień–1 do ekonomicznej 0,85 m2∙dzień–1.

    The situation when groundwater considerably rises above the “normal” level, water intake, lowering of groundwater levels and other relevant practical tasks require the drainage facilities. The most effective techniques of numerical studies of the corresponding boundary problems at present time are methods of dealing with inverse boundary value problems (conformal and quasi-conformal mappings). As basis of this research we used the case of combining the fictitious domain methods with quasi-conformal mappings of the solution of nonlinear boundary value problems for the calculation of filtration regimes in environments with free boundary areas (depression curves) and zones of “mountainous” areas. This paper reviews the stationary issue of flat-vertical stationary non-pressure liquid filtration to horizontal symmetric drainage. In the paper a practical methodology for solving boundary value problems on conformal mappings is suggested for the calculation of the filtration process in the horizontal symmetrical drainage. The idea of block iterative methods was used during the creation of the corresponding algorithm which is based on the alternating “freeze” of the anticipated conformance parameter, the internal and boundary connections of the curvilinear area. The results of the conducted numerical calculations confirmed the effectiveness of the suggested problem formulations and algorithms of their numerical solution and the possibility of their use in the modelling of nonlinear filtration processes occurring in horizontal drainage systems, as well as in the design of drainage facilities and optimizing other hydrosystems. Therefore these results are of great importance.
    W przypadku podwyższenia poziomu wody gruntowej znacząco ponad „normalną” wysokość pobór wody, obniżanie jej zwierciadła i inne działania wymagają urządzeń drenarskich. Obecnie najbardziej efektywnymi technikami numerycznych badań odpowiednich problemów brzegowych są metody odwrotnej analizy wartości brzegowych (odwzorowania konforemne i quasi-konforemne). Jako podstawę prowadzonych badań przyjęto przykład połączenia metod fikcyjnej domeny z quasi-konforemnym odwzorowaniem rozwiązania problemu nieliniowych wartości brzegowych do obliczenia reżimu filtracji w środowisku o wolnej powierzchni brzegowej (krzywe depresji) i w strefach „górskich”. W pracy dokonano przeglądu rozwiązań pionowej stacjonarnej filtracji płynów do horyzontalnego symetrycznego drenażu. Zaproponowano praktyczną metodologię rozwiązywania problemów wartości brzegowych w przekształceniu konforemnym do obliczania procesu filtracji w horyzontalnym symetrycznym drenażu. Wykorzystano zasadę metod iteracyjnych podczas tworzenia odpowiednich algorytmów opartą na naprzemiennym „zamrażaniu” przewidywanego parametru odwzorowania z wewnętrznymi i brzegowymi powiązaniami krzywoliniowego obszaru. Wyniki przeprowadzonych numerycznych obliczeń potwierdzają efektywność formułowania sugerowanego problemu i algorytmów ich numerycznego rozwiązania oraz możliwości ich zastosowania w modelowaniu nieliniowych procesów filtracji występujących w horyzontalnym systemie odwadniania, w projektowaniu urządzeń drenarskich i w optymalizacji innych systemów wodnych. Z tego powodu uzyskane wyniki mają ogromne znaczenie.

    Opis:
    Different types of filters are used to remove iron from underground water, one of them is foam polystyrene. Depending on the chemical water composition, tasks for water supply and other working conditions of iron-removing filters, it is necessary to define an exact grain size, specific granulometric composition, the thickness of the layer and the adequate rate of filtration. This kind of problems is multifactorial and its solution is based on the mathematical modelling. As a rule, two parallel processes considered during iron removal of underground water in filters: efficiency of water treatment and growth of head losses. Therefore, the model of water iron removal based on two main blocks, clarifying block takes into account the material balance and kinetics of the process; hydrodynamic block describes the dynamics of head loss in the granular loading. The kinetics of the detention of iron compounds in granular loading consists of two mutually opposite processes. With an increase of the amount of adsorption-catalytic precipitate, the rate of sorption of iron compounds and oxidation of ferric iron increases and the efficiency of iron-removing increases. On the other hand, with decreasing porosity of loading the true velocity of the fluid increases, that reduces the intensity of adhesion of iron compounds. Developed mathematical model allows for determining optimal values of structural and technological parameters of iron-removing filters taking into consideration the specific filtering conditions.
    Do odżelaziania wód podziemnych stosowane są różne typy filtrów, jednym z nich są filtry ze spienionego polistyrenu. W zależności od składu chemicznego wody, jej przeznaczenia i warunków pracy filtrów należy określić dokładny rozmiar ziaren, skład granulometryczny, grubość warstwy filtrującej i odpowiednie tempo filtracji. Tego rodzaju problemy są wieloczynnikowe, a ich rozwiązanie opiera się na modelowaniu matematycznym. Podczas usuwania żelaza z wody gruntowej w filtrach z reguły bierze się pod uwagę dwa równoległe procesy – efektywność uzdatniania wody i wzrost strat w głowicy. Dlatego opracowany model usuwania żelaza z wody oparty jest na dwóch podstawowych blokach: oświetleniowym – uwzględnia się bilans materiałowy i kinetykę procesu; bloku hydrodynamicznym – opisującym dynamikę spadku ciśnienia w ziarnistym wypełnieniu. Kinetyka zatrzymywania związków żelaza w ziarnistym wypełnieniu składa się z dwóch przeciwnych procesów. Wraz ze wzrostem ilości osadu adsorpcyjnokatalitycznego wzrasta też szybkość sorpcji związków żelaza i utleniania żelaza dwuwartościowego, a także zwiększa się skuteczność usuwania żelaza. Z drugiej strony, w warunkach malejącej porowatości wypełnienia, wzrasta rzeczywista prędkość płynu, co zmniejsza intensywność adhezji związków żelaza. Zbudowany model matematyczny pozwala na określenie optymalnych wartości parametrów strukturalnych i technologicznych dla filtrów usuwających żelazo z uwzględnieniem specyfiki warunków filtracji.
