- This paper is an attempt to show the impact on staff material and financial motivation system. The work provides brief descriptions of various definitions of motivation and effects which a given type of motivation may have on individuals and, consequently, on the organisation. I have also refered to motivating employees through a system of rewards and punishments, and explain their attitudes perpetuate in the workforce. One of the negative effects of financial motivation is laying the foundation to anomy and lack of identification of employees’ aims with company aims. To counter the anomie presented the concept of Management by values, whose main objective it is essential not to treat employees instrumentally and to enable them to take active part in creating systems of values and culture of the organisation. As a result of Management by values, ethos of the staff is observable. It contributes to better identification with the company, willingness to work and increases the profitability of the company.
