Opis:
Introduction. Cutaneous small-vessel vasculitis and aseptic abscesses syndrome are among the rarest extraintestinal manifestations of bowel inflammatory diseases. Materials and methods. The study describes the case of a 19-year-old female admitted to the Department of Dermatology due to cutaneous small-vessel vasculitis. In order to reach the final diagnosis, a wide spectrum of laboratory and diagnostic tests were performed. Three subsequent abdominal CT scans confirmed the presence of hypodense foci, initially in the spleen, and subsequently in the liver. The aseptic abscesses syndrome was diagnosed based on the radiological picture and the exclusion of infectious causes of the above-described foci. Objective. Presentation of a case of concomitance of cutaneous small vessel vasculitis and septic absecess, accompanied by inflammatory bowel disease. Results. During the hospitalisation, the patient developed symptoms of paralytic ileus. The results of colonoscopy and biopsy of intestinal mucous membrane were typical of ulcerative colitis. Conclusions. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first presentation of ulcerative colitis accompanied by aseptic abscesses syndrome concomitant with cutaneous small vessel vasculitis.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to assess the P-PO4 and N-NH4 pollution of water in grasslands located on peat soils and to identify the impact of groundwater level on this pollution formation. The research was conducted in 2000-2010 on grounds of ITP-PIB in Biebrza village (Poland). Within lowland fen a total of 18 monitoring points of groundwater and watercourses were established in 6 separate test stands. The subject of the research was water collected from drainage ditches/channels and groundwater, which was taken from wells installed in organic-soil layer and wells whose bottom was 15-20 cm below this layer. Water samples were collected several times a year, and in the case of groundwater, its level was also measured. It was found that: 1) due to concentration level of P-PO4 and N-NH4, about 46 and 39% of water samples from organic-soil layer and more than 40 and 37% of water samples from mineral-organic-soil layer respectively, were characterized by poor chemical status; 2) due to the exceeding of the limit values of P-PO4 and N-NH4 concentration, water samples from watercourses in over 30 and 27% respectively were not within 1st and 2nd class of surface water quality; 3) P-PO4 and N-NH4 concentrations in each water type were statistically significant and positively correlated with each other; 4) in organic-soil layer the groundwater level changing every 10 cm was a statistically significant factor differentiating the average P-PO4 concentration in roundwater associated with mineral-organic layer of peat soil and average N-NH4 concentration in each type of water.

Opis:
This article discusses the issue of seaport competitiveness. This is one of the most important issues in port studies. Conducting a port competitiveness analysis focuses on comparing components of port competitiveness for selected ports or terminals. First, a comparative analysis of selected seaports was performed in the article, followed by a detailed analysis of selected terminals in indicated ports. The main purpose of the article is to assess the effect of the new investment in the seaport in the town of Police (the construction of the railway connection with the national network) on its competitive position in relation to seaports in the immediate vicinity. To achieve the assumed goal, the following research methods were used: literature review, documentary method, linear weighting method, and variant analysis. The areas covered by the research study are selective seaports in Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship (Szczecin, Świnoujście, and Police), Poland. Based on the research studies completed so far, it was shown that connecting a seaport with the national rail network may be a significant factor affecting the port’s competitiveness in relation to the ports located in the direct vicinity.

Opis:
The purpose of the article is to systematize the main issues related to the encounter of Christianity with Latin American cultures. The study is based on both Latin Americantheological publications and various documents of the Roman Catholic Church. In the first part the problem of Christianity’s encounter with cultures of this region from historic perspective is discussed by pointing out to its negative, ambiguous and positive aspects. The second part is devoted to classification of culture circles, significant from the point of view of evangelization and inculturation (cultures of urban agglomeration, rural regions, Indian and Afro-Latin American cultures, poverty, elites, cyber culture and popular culture). In the final section we paid attention to the issue of up-coming culture and its trends (modernism and postmodernism, secularism, socio-political ideologies, the role of mass media, the tensions between globalization process and appreciation of local traditions).

Archiwum Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Louvain-la-Neuve przechowuje sprawozdania ze spotkań, które odbywały się w Kolegium Belgijskim w Rzymie. Ze względu na to, że ich treść jest mało znana, stosując metodę krytyki i analizy piśmiennictwa, autor przybliża ich zawartość. W pierwszej części omawia stan badań. W części drugiej ukazuje zawartość sprawozdań. 
During the Second Vatican Council, there was an informal group of bishops, popularly known as the Church of the Poor, who placed the relationship between Jesus, the Church, and the poor at the center of the debates. The archives of the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve preserve archival reports of meetings that took place at the Belgian College in Rome. Considering that the contents of these sources are not commonly recognized, the author provides an introduction to their contents using source critical analysis. In the first part, he discusses the research status. In the second section, he examines the reports’ content.

Artykuł porusza problematykę obecności zagadnień misjologicznych w stuletniej historii Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego Jana Pawła II, zwłaszcza w Instytucie Teologii Fundamentalnej. W pierwszej części autor przedstawia jej kontekst społeczny i eklezjalny oraz etapy i sposoby obecności na uczelni. W części drugiej omawia najważniejsze osiągnięcia. W podsumowaniu postuluje się dalszy jej rozwój poprzez opracowanie oraz wydanie dokumentów papieskich na temat misji i polskiego podręcznika misjologii.
The article discusses the question of the presence of missiological issues in the history of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, especially at the Institute of Fundamental Theology. In the first part, the author presents its social and ecclesial context, as well as its stages and methods of presence at the university. In the second part, it gives the main missiological achievements. In con- clusion, it is suggested the need of the further development of the missiology in the near future by elaborating and publishing of papal documents on the mission and of the Polish handbook of missiology.

Kategoria opcji na rzecz ubogich powstała na przełomie lat 60. i 70. XX wieku w Ameryce Łacińskiej, jako owoc audytu wiary i życia społeczno-eklezjalnego. W punkcie pierwszym autor omawia jej definicję, przywołując wypowiedzi biskupów (Medellín i Puebla),  Jana Pawła II oraz przyjęte określenia w teologii latynoamerykańskiej. Następnie zwraca uwagę na potrzebę doprecyzowania znaczenia ubóstwa i ubogich, a zwłaszcza obiektywizacji potocznego i teologicznego rozumienia tych pojęć. W punkcie trzecim  przedstawia racje teologiczne opcji na rzecz ubogich. Wśród nich wymienia: Boży plan zbawienia; teologię stworzenia; godność człowieka; misterium grzechu; fenomen ubóstwa jako miejsce weryfikacji fundamentalnych twierdzeń o Bogu; funkcję ubogich i ubóstwa w  słowach i czynach Jezusa Chrystusa; eklezjologiczne znaczenie opcji na rzecz ubogich. W ostatniej części, w ramach podsumowania, autor przytacza tłumaczenie tzw. Paktu z Katakumb św. Domitili, który ilustruje jedną z możliwych dróg wprowadzenia tej opcji w życiu osobistym i eklezjalnym.
The article discusses the category of option for the poor, by answering four key issues: 1) What is option for the poor?; 2) Who are the poor?; 3) Why option for the poor?; 4) How to opt? The category of option for the poor emerged in Latin America at the turn of the 60s and 70s of the twentieth century, as the fruit of an audit of faith and personal, communitarian, social and ecclesial life. The author defines the category, according to the teaching of the bishops (Medellin and Puebla), John Paul II and Latin-American theologians. He highlights the need for clarifying the meaning of poverty and poor, specifically of the current and theological understanding of these concepts. Next, he describes the main theological reasons of option for the poor: God's plan of salvation; theology of creation; human dignity; mystery of sin; phenomenon of poverty as a place of proving the fundamental statements about God and Jesus Christ; ecclesiological significance of the option for the poor. In the last part, the author places the Polish translation of the so-called “The Catacomb Pact of St. Domitilia”, which illustrates one of the promising ways of implementing that option in personal and ecclesial life.

Artykuł przedstawia jej istotę i związek z zagadnieniem wiarygodności. Część pierwsza odpowiada na pytanie: co to jest preferencyjna opcja na rzecz ubogich? W części drugiej omawia się miejsce ubogich w Bożym planie zbawienia i misji Kościoła. W części ostatniej autor wskazuje na związek opcji na rzecz ubogich z wiarygodnością Kościoła. Doświadczenie Boga w kontekście ubóstwa i niesprawiedliwości współczesnego świata sprawia, że opcja na rzecz ubogich może pełnić rolę znaku wiarygodności Kościoła i chrześcijaństwa.
The category of option for the poor emerged in Latin America at the turn of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century, as a result of authentication of faith and personal, communitarian, social and ecclesiastical life. The article consists of three parts. In the first part, the key question of the article is discussed, namely: “What is the Preferential Option for the Poor?” In the second part, the place of the poor in God's plan of salvation and in the mission of the Church, are presented. The final part, deals with the issue of the option for the poor as a sign of the credibility of the Church. Experiencing God in the context of poverty and injustice in the modern world makes the option for the poor a sign of the credibility of the Church and Christianity.
