    Celem prezentowanej pracy było zaproponowanie koncepcji sterowania ramieniem manipulatora do rehabilitacji kończyny górnej. Ideą działania jest nauka ruchu wzorcowego wykonywanego przez pacjenta w asyście rehabilitanta kończyną utwierdzoną do ramienia manipulatora a następne odtwarzanie ruchu z zachowaniem prędkości chwilowych oraz zakresu. Sterowanie pozwala na wybranie ilości powtórzeń wykonywanego ruchu. Zadanie zostało zrealizowane w środowisku Labview przy pomocy komputera klasy PC, karty pomiarowej, potencjometru obrotowego oraz silnika BLDC.
    The aim of this work was to propose a concept of steering a manipulator arm in upper limb rehabilitation. The idea of a motion model is to study this motion performed by the patient, accompanied by restrained limb to the manipulator arm in assist of qualified staff. Than repeating the movement behaviour with instantaneous velocity and range. Our steering allow to choose the number of repetitions of performed movement. The task has been executed in the LabVIEW environment using PC, measuring card, rotary potentiometer and the BLDC motor.

    Opis:
    A study on computer aided diagnosis of posterior cruciate ligaments is presented in this paper. The diagnosis relies on T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. During the image analysis stage, the ligament region is automatically detected, localized, and extracted using fuzzy segmentation methods. Eight geometric features are defined for the ligament object. With a clinical reference database containing 107 cases of both healthy and pathological cases, a Fisher linear discriminant is used to select 4 most distinctive features. At the classification stage we employ five different soft computing classifiers to evaluate the feature vector suitability for the computerized ligament diagnosis. Among the classifiers we introduce and specify the particle swarm optimization based Sugeno-type fuzzy inference system and compare its performance to other established classification systems. The classification accuracy metrics: sensitivity, specificity, and Dice index all exceed 90% for each classifier under consideration, indicating high level of the proposed feature vector relevance in the computer aided ligaments diagnosis.

    We discuss the influence of an external magnetic field on the exciton energy and the exciton oscillator strength in the shallow quantum wells. We include into consideration the Coulomb attraction between electron and hole, which is rarely taken into account. We self-consistently solve the Schrödinger equation to compare the obtained results with the experimental values.

    Opis:
    The paper deals with an image database organization and utilization in computer-aided cytology. To illustrate the idea we take as an example the problem of bladder cancer early detection based on urine cytology. In spite of its diagnostic potential for discovering malignancy associated changes (MAC) at the cell level it seems to be underestimated. There is common view that sensitivity of the method, especially for early cancer stages, is relatively low. We depict here just one but significant direction of our works that aims to support pathologists making the diagnosis more accurate and reliable. The key idea relies on automatic searching for MAC by comparing nuclear chromatin structure of objects in a smear with a collection of sample patterns contained in a pathomorphological image database.

    Opis:
    An approach to location of a region including the posterior and anterior cruciate ligament in the MR knee images has been developed. The proposed method of the PCL location in T1-weighted MR knee images is based on entropy (or energy) measure of fuzziness and fuzzy C-means (FCM) algorithm. Then, edges of a region of interest containing the ligament are found. The procedure has been tested on clinical T1- and T2- weighted MR knee images resulting in a 3D visualisation.

    We report the theoretical study of the optical response of a periodically modulated two-dimensional electron gas. The density of states is calculated within the first order of the perturbation theory and the effects of the short-range disorder are explained and discussed. We demonstrate that the magnetic field values corresponding to the characteristic narrowing of the density of states width are given by the zeros of the subsequent Laguerre polynomials. The observed increase of the density of states at the edges are interpreted as van Hove singularities. The broadening effects are shown to modify and smear out the observed effects with increasing temperature above 2 K. The plasmon dispersion relation is discussed in terms of the random phase approximation. Small changes in plasmon dispersion relation related to the periodic modulation were predicted.

    Celem badań przeprowadzonych w latach 2008–2010 była ocena plonowania podwójnie ulepszonych rodów gorczycy białej, uprawianych jako międzyplon ścierniskowy na czarnej ziemi i glebie płowej typowej. Do badań wybrano trzy rody gorczycy białej: PN-834/07, PN-843/07 i PN-845/07 oraz odmiany kontrolne: Nakielska, Metex i Bamberka. Gorczyce wysiane zostały na początku sierpnia, a zbiór nastąpił w ostatnim tygodniu października. Przy zbiorze oceniono wielkość plonu świeżej i suchej masy części nadziemnych i korzeni oraz udział roślin kwitnących. Uprawa gorczycy białej na czarnej ziemi przyczyniła się do uzyskania znacznie większych plonów świeżej i suchej masy części nadziemnej i korzeni w porównaniu do gleby płowej typowej. W grupie rodów gorczycy białej ród PN-834/07 odznaczał się istotnie większymi plonami świeżej i suchej masy części nadziemnej.
    The aim of the investigation performed in 2008–2010 was to evaluate the yield of double low white mustard lines derived from the national breeding programme. Mustard lines are cultivated as a catch crop broadly exploited in crop rotation with root crops as green manure, antinematode factor and mulch. Three breeding lines of white mustard: PN-834/07, PN-843/07, PN-845/07 and three control cultivars: Nakielska, Metex and Bamberka were included in the testing procedure. The field experiment was performed in a randomized complete block design, with four replications on black soil and lessive soil. White mustard was sown (20 kg of seeds per ha) in the first week of August and harvested during the last week of October. In both locations, pre-sowing fertilization was applied using: 50 kg·N per ha and 70 kg K per ha. At harvest, fresh and dry matter yields of white mustard shoots and roots were estimated. The cultivation of white mustard on black soil contributed to higher yield of fresh and dry matter of shoots (about 38.2% and 40.5%, respectively) and roots (about 27.4% and 24.4%), in comparison to the lessive soil. In the year 2008 which was characterized by greater annual rainfall and higher temperatures during growing season in vegetation period than in the remaining years of the research, and significantly higher yields of fresh and dry mass of aboveground parts and roots of white mustard were registered. The analysis of the average results from both locations during all three years showed that in both locations the PN-834/07 line produced the highest yield of fresh and dry matter of shoots. The yields were similar to the yields of white mustard Bamberka cultivar, however smaller than yields of Nakielska and Metex cultivars.

    We study polarization resolved correlation between photons emitted in cascaded biexciton-exciton recombination from a single quantum dot formed in type II GaAs/AlAs bilayer. Magnetic field induced transition from anisotropy controlled to the Zeeman controlled emission was demonstrated by a circular polarization correlation between the emitted photons. A simple model describing the effect allowed us to determine the anisotropic exchange splitting of the excitonic state. This method of the anisotropic exchange splitting determination can be useful in the case when other methods are not sensitive enough.
