In the field of research on the determinants of conservative beliefs, the problem of liberal ideological bias is becoming more and more prominent. Traditionally conservatives are said to have weaker cognitive abilities and to experience more negative emotions. It is being noticed that classical theories of conservatism are based at least partially on a stereotyped image of the subject of their research. This paper presents an overview of classical and contemporary psychological attitudes towards the phenomenon of ideological conservatism. It presents theories of Tomkins, Adorno, Wilson and Paterson, as well as modern research conducted in the field of cognitive science and motivated cognition. Moreover, the most important phenomena identified today as causes of conservative attitudes, including Needs for Security and Certainty, Negativity Bias, and Disgust Sensitivity are being described. The paper discusses modern paradigms of understanding conservatism with the emphasis on determining their potential of reducing the one-sided view of psychology on the ideological conservatism.

Opis:
This paper presents a general concept of the Full Scale Fatigue Test of the Mi-24 helicopter including the test layout and load distribution, as well as describes the milestones to be achieved. Additionally, some initial work conducted in order to determine both the mass and load distribution in the structure is described. The main goal of the test is to verify the low cycle fatigue life of the helicopter structure (fuselage, tail boom, wings and landing gear). The test will be divided into two main stages at which flight and landing loads will be applied. The authors demonstrate the general test concept, the helicopter’s structure fixture and the arrangement of the hydraulic actuators at both stages in order to achieve representative loads during the test. The proposed concept is based on AFIT’s previous experience in full scale structural testing, available literature and the experience of the test staff.

W pracy poruszono problem obliczania przekrycia żelbetowego w kształcie powłoki synklastycznej ściętej o podstawie kwadratowej. Przedstawiono obliczenia analityczne i numeryczne sił w powłoce. Powłoka jest poddana działaniu głównie sił ściskających, co jest korzystne dla tego typu konstrukcji. W strefie brzegowej i podporowej konieczne jest wymiarowanie na mimośrodowe ściskanie i rozciąganie z uwagi na znaczący wzrost momentów zginających.
The problem of calculating reinforced concrete covering in the shape of a synclastic shear shell with a square base is discussed in the paper. Analytical and numerical calculations of forces in the shell are presented. The coating is mainly subjected to compressive forces, which is beneficial for this type of construction. In the boundary and support zones, it is necessary to calculate for eccentric compression and tension due to the significant increase in bending moments.
