- W dniu 8 lipca 2021 roku na Wydziale Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego, poprzez platformę umożliwiającą organizację konferencji zdalnych, odbyło się seminarium międzynarodowe poświęcone analizie zjawisk prawnych, społecznych i ekonomicznych związanych z pandemią COVID-19. Motywem organizacji konferencji była refleksja, że pandemia COVID-19 nie może być rozumiana jako problem, który społeczności lub państwa mogą rozwiązać lub złagodzić zwykłymi metodami, do których przywykliśmy na przestrzeni ostatniego wieku. Obywatele całego świata stają się świadkami fundamentalnej zmiany w samej naturze porządku społecznego, gospodarczego i prawnego. Jest to zmiana radykalna i wymagająca specjalnych metod, a także dostarczająca wiedzy obserwacyjnej dotyczącej działania instytucji społecznych w warunkach ekstremalnych, tak naturalnych, jak wynikających z restrykcji zapobiegających zachorowaniom. Tym właśnie zagadnieniom poświęcone było seminarium „The COVID-19 pandemic – legal and economic consequences. International perspective”, objęte honorowym patronatem Dziekan Wydziału Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego, dr hab. Eweliny Cała-Wacinkiewicz, prof. US.
