Background: Evaluation of body posture and strength of spinal muscles in children during their progressive ontogenesis is significant for the evaluation of their physical health condition and physical fitness. It is also a reference point in a process of control and medical care. Purpose: The aim if this study was to evaluate correlation between the selected features of somatic body structure, shape of anteroposterior spinal curves and force-velocity (FV) parameters of trunk muscles in school children. Participants and methods: The sample involved 104 children aged 10–11 years, 60 females (10.74 ± 0.7) and 44 males (10.50 ± 0.9). Body posture was assessed using the Moiré photogrammetry while trunk muscles (flexors and extensors) strength was measured isokinetically. Results: The results of the research revealed the existence of many average and strong correlations observed between the analysed somatic characteristics and forcevelocity (FV) parameters of trunk muscles. Correlation between the volume of the spinal curvatures in the sagittal plane and forcevelocity parameters of trunk extensors and flexors were average or weak for both groups of children. Conclusion: Somatic features indicated stronger correlation with trunk muscles' strength than with the size of the anteroposterior spinal curves.

W artykule przedstawiono proces projektowania i budowy klimatyzacji samochodowej wykorzystującej moduły Peltiera, Alternatywna klimatyzacja umożliwia szybkie ogrzanie powietrza niezależnie od temperatury silnika. Można montować ją zarówno w nowych jak i starych pojazdach. Układ nie wymaga serwisu, ani ingerencji w standardowy układ chłodniczy. Wykorzystano materiały, które umożliwiają wgląd na ruch cieczy w układzie jak i pogląd na układ elektroniczny.
The paper shows a process of designing and constructing automotive air conditioning for a practical application of Peltier module in climatronic. Our project lets us quickly heat up air, autonomously to engine's temperature. The model can be installed both in old and new cars. Furthermore, Peltier's module does not require servicing or interfering a standard heat exchanger. Resources used in assembly enable insight in fluid drift and electronics system's composition.

Celem pracy była ocena kształtu krzywizn kręgosłupa u 112 dziewcząt o różnym stopniu aktywności fizycznej. Grupę badawczą stanowiły dziewczęta – piłkarki ręczne w wieku 8-17 lat należące do Klubu Piłki Ręcznej Kobierzyce. Ze względu na dużą rozbieżność wiekową grupę podzielono na dwie podgrupy: młodsze piłkarki (8-12 lat, N = 30) oraz starsze (13-17, N = 25). Następnie wyznaczono dwie grupy kontrolne – młodsze i starsze dziewczęta nietrenujące żadnej dyscypliny sportowej. Wszystkie dziewczęta zostały przebadane metodą fotogrametryczną. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników dokonano analizy parametrów płaszczyzny strzałkowej. Zbadano częstość występowania typów i podtypów postawy ciała w płaszczyźnie strzałkowej metodą Wolańskiego w modyfikacji Zeyland-Malawki oraz występowanie postawy prawidłowej i nieprawidłowej u piłkarek ręcznych w porównaniu do nietrenujących rówieśniczek. Stwierdzono, iż dominującym typem postawy u piłkarek ręcznych (młodszych i starszych) był typ kifotyczny. Przyczyn tej tendencji doszukiwano się w specyfice treningu sportowego piłkarzy, w którym znaczną część stanowił bieg z piłką w pochylonej postawie ciała.
The aim of the study was the evaluation of spinal curvatures of 112 girls, characterized by diverse physical fitness habits. The research was carried out among female handball players, aged 8-17 years, members of the Handball Club in Kobierzyce. Due to the age differences, two subgroups were examined: younger group (8-12 years old girls, N = 30) and older one (13-17 years old girls, N = 25). Then, two control groups were determined, consisted of younger and older girls, not subjected to regular professional training. The body posture was measured by means of photogrammetric method. On the basis of the results, the parameters of the sagittal plane, were analyzed. The incidence of types and subtypes of body posture in the sagittal plane was investigated by Wolański method with Zeyland-Malawki modifications. The same technique was used to examine the presence of normal and abnormal postures in both groups. It was found that the kyphotic type of the posture was dominant in the handball players (young and old). The reason for this tendency was the specificity of the training, in which a significant part was running with the ball in the bending position.

Two models of the Alamouti multiple input – multiple output (MIMO) system have been formed: the analytical and simulation one. The first model is simple and it reflects the quasi-static Rayleigh fading phenomena, while the second one is advanced and it expresses the fast fading effects. The results of analysis and simulations show that the Alamouti MIMO architecture significantly over performs the SISO systems (the SNR gain ~20 dB), but mainly within the quasi-static environment. In mobile conditions this gain and/or the overall system capacity under go a sharp decline.
W referacie poddano eksperymentom symulacyjnym dwa modele MIMO Almaoutiego. Model funkcjonujący w warunkach quasi-statycznych zaników Rayleigha oraz w warunkach zaników szybkich Nakagami’ego. Dokonano oszacowania jaki jest rzeczywisty zysk zastosowania MIMO względem systemu jednokanałowego SISO. W modelowaniu wykorzystano Metodę Monte Carlo.

In this paper the results of researches of coatings TiCN morphology were presented. Tested coating were deposited by PVD technique on tool steel HS6-5-2C surface. Coating thickness were measured by means of compact device Calotest CATs and optical microscope. Coating structure and its chemical analysis were made with the aid of electron microscope JSM 7100F with analyzer EDS. Hardness of coating were measured with the aid of hardness tester INNOVATEST. On the base of investigations results it was found that morphology features of tested coating fulfil potential requirements, e.g. on cutting tool edges or on machine elements worked in rugged conditions (great load, high temperature).
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących morfologii powłok węglikoazotku tytanu TiCN uzyskanych w procesie fizycznego osadzania z fazy gazowej PVD na stali narzędziowej HS6-5-2C. Pomiaru grubości powłoki dokonano przy użyciu kompaktowego urządzenia Calotest CATc oraz mikroskopu optycznego. Obserwacje struktury i analizę składu chemicznego wykonano skaningowym mikroskopem elektronowym JSM 7100F wyposażonym w analizator EDS. Twardość zmierzono twardościomierzem INNOVATEST. Na podstawie rezultatów badań stwierdzono, że cechy morfologiczne badanych powłok spełniają potrzeby wynikające z ich potencjalnych zastosowań, a więc na ostrzach narzędzi skrawających i na elementach pracujących w trudnych warunkach (duże obciążenie, wysoka temperatura).

Opis:
One of the greatest challenges of nature conservation is to identify and locate networks of protected areas, which will preserve the biodiversity. The paper aims to show the ornithological value of the Sobibór Forests (E Poland) and to emphasize the fact that the network of Important Bird Areas (IBA) and Special Protection Areas within Natura 2000 (SPA) may require additions. The study was conducted in the period of 2008−2016, mainly on forested areas occupying 256 km2. The Sobibór Forests are characterized by a large diversity of habitats, but are mainly covered by Scots pine Pinus sylvestris. High diversity of wetlands and marshlands make the Sobibór Forest unique within the country. Three methodologies were used to estimate population size of chosen species: sampling, census and random observations. 31 species from Annex I of the Birds Directive plus 25 species of SPEC or non−SPECE category were observed which allows to consider this area as one of the most valuable for avifauna in Poland. Six breeding species classify the Sobibór Forests as the IBA and SPA. These species include Black Stork Ciconia nigra (8−13 breeding pairs), Common Crane Grus grus (80−120 breeding pairs), Grey Great Owl Strix nebulosa (0−7 breeding pairs i.e. 50−100% of Polish breeding population), Eagle Owl Bubo bubo (6 breeding pairs), White−backed Woodpecker Dendrocopos leucotos (40−70 breeding pairs) and Grey−headed Woodpecker Picus canus (20−40 breeding pairs). Six other species show potential for qualification, but not enough data has been collected yet. The list of this specie includes: Short−toed Snake Eagle Circaetus gallicus, Common Snipe Gallinago gallinago, Stock Dove Columba oenas, European Nightjar Caprimulgus europaeus, Collared Flycatcher Ficedula albicollis and Bluethroat Luscinia svecica. The Sobibór Forests occupy a small area compared to other IBA forests. However, the number of breeding species classifies the surveyed area as 7th among other IBAs. Moreover all eligible species may be considered as a bioindicators of the natural state of the forest. This is proof of the high natural value of this area.

Opis:
Using spectroscopic and electric measurements, vibrational and rotational molecular gas temperatures as well as free electron temperature and concentration were determined in different regions of a time-periodical type, atmospheric pressure non-equilibrium low current gliding arc. It was shown that this discharge includes an initial quasi-equilibrium zone, with the quasi-equilibrium temperature of 4 to 6 kK, and the non-equilibrium zone with the electron temperature about 10 kK, the vibrational temperature about 3 kK, rotational and translational temperatures from 1 to 1.5 kK. The transition between two mentioned zones coincides with the phenomenon of the arc "length explosion" already observed in moderate-current gliding arc.
