Opis:
Osiągnięcie wymagań stawianych budynkom o niskim zużyciu energii jest procesem złożonym, obejmującym zagadnienia w zakresie projektowania architektonicznego, budownictwa ogólnego, fizyki budowli, instalacji budowlanych z zastosowaniem odnawialnych źródeł energii (OZE). W artykule przedstawiono zasady projektowania elementów obudowy budynku z uwzględnieniem przepływu ciepła w polu jednowymiarowym (1D) i dwuwymiarowym (2D) w aspekcie wymagań cieplno-wilgotnościowych. Określono parametry fizykalne wybranych złączy ścian zewnętrznych przy zastosowaniu programu komputerowego TRISCO-KOBRU86 oraz współczynniki przenikania ciepła z uwzględnieniem liniowych mostków cieplnych (2D).
Achieving the requirements for buildings with low energy consumption is a complex process covering issues in the field of architectural design, general construction, building physics, and construction installations using renewable energy sources (RES). The article presents the principles of designing the exterior wall elements, taking into account the heat flow in the one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) field in terms of heat and humidity requirements. The physical parameters of selected joints of external walls were determined using TRISCO-KOBRU86 computer program and heat transfer coefficients including linear thermal bridges (2D).

Opis:
Designing, constructing and using of buildings with low energy consumption are a complex process requiring knowledge of architectural design, construction physics and building systems with the use of renewable energy sources (RES). The article presents the legal bases and characteristics of low-energy buildings. Implementation of the binding technical requirements in the field of hygrothermal characteristics consists of monitoring numerous parameters of an entire building, and in particular of its partitions and their joints and building systems. Therefore, the paper presents calculations regarding determining the material systems of building partitions and building joints with the use of professional software. The main part of the article is to establish the impact of energy-saving technologies on the energy consumption of the newly designed buildings, but also of the buildings that are undergoing modernisation processes.
Projektowanie, wykonanie i eksploatacja budynków o niskim zużyciu energii jest procesem złożonym, wymagającym znajomość zagadnień w zakresie: projektowania architektonicznego, fizyki budowli oraz instalacji budowlanych z zastosowaniem odnawialnych źródeł energii (OZE). W artykule przedstawiono podstawy prawne oraz charakterystykę budownictwa niskoenergetycznego. Realizacja obowiązujących wymagań technicznych w zakresie cieplno-wilgotnościowym polega na sprawdzeniu wielu parametrów całego budynku, a w szczególności jego przegród zewnętrznych i ich złączy oraz instalacji budowlanych. Dlatego w pracy zaprezentowano obliczenia w zakresie kształtowania układów materiałowych przegród zewnętrznych i złączy budowlanych przy zastosowaniu profesjonalnych programów komputerowych. Integralną częścią artykułu jest określenie wpływu stosowanych technologii energooszczędnych na energochłonność budynku nowoprojektowanego, ale także poddawanego modernizacji.

Celem artykułu jest omówienie problemu jakości szkoły wyższej w warunkach funkcjonowania polskiego systemu szkolnictwa wyższego. Autor - założyciel i rektor uczelni wyraźnie zorientowanej na studenta - jest przekonany, że w polskich warunkach (ograniczonych nakładów ze środków publicznych na badania naukowe oraz braku wyraźnego zapotrzebowania na innowacje i badania ze strony gospodarki) o jakości szkoły wyższej decydować będzie najsilniej jakość wykształcenia absolwentów, przekładająca się na wizerunek społeczny uczelni i zaufanie do niej. Uczelnie lub ich wydziały, chcące w warunkach zaostrzającej się konkurencji ubiegać się o uzdolnionych kandydatów, będą musiały zadbać o swój publiczny wizerunek i udowodnić swoją wysoką jakość. Zwiększy to zainteresowanie marką szkoły wyższej i mechanizmami oceny jakości uczelni. Nowe formy oceny, wprowadzone do powszechnej praktyki w drugiej połowie lat dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku (akredytacje, rankingi), będą coraz silniej wpływać na sytuację polskiego szkolnictwa wyższego. W artykule omówiono wpływ rankingów i akredytacji na markę szkół wyższych oraz przedyskutowano zagadnienie: co najmocniej określa jakość szkoły wyższej - jej marka (wizerunek), pozycja w rankingach czy rezultaty procedur akredytacyjnych.
The aim of this article is to discuss the issue of the quality of university within the Polish higher education system. The author, the founder and president of a strongly student-oriented university, believes that under Polish conditions (limited government outlays on research, no clear demand for innovations and research from industry in Poland), the quality of higher education will be most strongly determined by the quality of graduates which, I in turn, builds the public image of universities and the public trust in them. Universities or their departments which want to attract talented candidates in the ever intensifying competition will have to take care of their public image and prove their high quality. This will lead to an increased interest in the brand of the university and mechanisms applied to evaluate the quality of university. New forms of evaluation introduced into common practice in the second half of 1990s (accreditations, rankings) will increasingly influence the situation of the Polish higher education. The author discusses the impact of rankings and accreditations on the brands of universities and ponders about the strongest determinants of the quality of a university: brand (image), position in rankings or results of accreditation procedures.

The article introduces selected aspects of creating material sets for an external wall connection with a balcony slab. The integral part of this work are calculations and analyses concerning the thermal quality of joints with balcony slabs produced using various construction and material solutions. Proper selections of the material layers of a building case in regards to thermal aspects and humidity essentially influence the building demand for energy (EU, EK i EP) and pollutant emissions into the natural environment.

The current year was declared as the International Year of Historic Monument Protection 1975 with a particular emphasis on problems connected with protection of architectural objects and sites as well as on rehabilitation of ancient towns and their historic centres. As one of the chief subjects within the present campaign has been put forward that of harmonious co-existence of both historic and modern architecture, i.e. creation of such objects which in the future could be covered with protection. To participation in the above campaign were invited all European countries in which for a longer period of time are already existing their respective National Committees of the European Year of Historic Monument Protection. Among those leading is to be mentioned the problem of towns and ancient urban centres and a good deal of very important proposals has been advanced in this range as, for instance, those concerning rehabilitation, controlling of the new building on historic sites, removing of motorised traffic from their areas and the like. As a general outline for all actions and measures to be undertaken during the International Year has been adopted the idea of their later permanent conservation. In this country the International Year of Historic Monument Protection is just coinciding with the end of a thirty-year period of the post-war activities in the field of safeguarding of historic monuments. On the initiative of the ICOMOS Committee in Poland the Voluntary Committee of the International Year of Historie Monument Protection, 1975 has been called into being, headed by Professor Dr. Stanisław Lorentz and Dr. K. Pawłowski acting as its Secretary General. The range of activities of the above Committee will comprise the monuments other than architectural, too. Active are already tho Regional Committees in which much work is being carried out by the Voivodship Conservators and representatives of local authorities. Already in 1974 a series of international meetings took place in Poland. Within the programme of scientific research, conservator’s investigations and inventorying with tho Chief Conservator are co-opei’ating the Committee of Architecture and Townplanning, Polish Academy of Sciences and the Historical Monuments Documentation Centre, Warsaw. Numerous all-country and regional conferences will be held this year dealing with various aspects of historic monument protection and the role played by them in procoss of shaping of the social consciousness. It is planned that a number of the Chief Conservator’s prizes will bo awarded to students in the field of monument protection and conservation for tho best diploma works covoring theso subjects. It is expectod that a highly valuable role will also be played in many actions and projects by the Union of the Polish Scout-Boys and Scout-Girls and that equally fruitful will prove the co-operation between the Association of Historians of Art and the youth organizations. An extensive programme of activities has been adopted by the Polish Touring Society within which special Committee for Protection of Cultural Heritage is activo for many years. No less important within tho rango of the planned activities will be tho voluntary actions and services for tho sake of cultural heritage rendered by the Polish handicraftsmen. As another field of activities is to be quoted hero tho popularization of problems of historic monument protection among tho widest circles of Polish community. It is planned that in 1975 a number of tho so-called model realizations will be carried out and among them tho adaptation of an ancient castle at Niedzica which has to bo tinned into a home for tho creatively working art historians, the protection of the landscapo and urban complex at Kazimierz on Vistula, tho rehabilitation of the Old Town districts in Cracow and Zamość as well as that of castles at Krasiczyn and Wiśnicz. The complete programme of the International Year of Historic Monument Protection will be presented in a special publication.

In the period between ratification of the Convention and its coming into effect in 1977, Poland became an important centre for shaping the global identification and cultural heritage preservation system. The 1976 Warsaw Governmental Experts Conference concerning protection and role of historic and traditional complexes allowed for adopting a definition thereof. “A meeting of experts on the improvement and harmonization of systems on the inventories and catalogues of monuments” which took place in Warsaw in 1977, was the next stage. Polish delegate, who had been chosen a vice-president of the Committee during the first session thereof in 1977, submitted a set of comments on operational directives on the criteria for historical value, authenticity, urban complexes, and technological artefacts. Polish nominations provided illustration of this intricate matter. These included: urban complex of Cracow, Wieliczka Salt Mine, Warsaw Old Town (rebuilt after WW2), and the former Concentration Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. Polish ICOMOS presented the “Protection and Management in Cities of Exceptional Monumental Value” programme in 1995, which was subsequently accepted by UNESCO.
