    This article analyzes the presence of propaganda and its persuasive strategies in the narration born on the occasion of the famous escape in 1912 by Charles Lux, captain of the French army, from the several Prussian fortress of Glatz, present-day Kłodzko (Poland). In particular, through the analysis of the articles published by the French press after his escape, as well as the captain memoirs, it can be seen how the persuasive technique acquires a particular meaning in the narration.

Wenecki uwodziciel miał okazję gościć w państwie polskim przez kilkamiesięcy, zanim zniknęło ono w następstwie rozbiorów. Owe doświadczenie opisał szerokow swoich wspomnieniach pt. Histoire de ma vie, jak również w Il Duello, kronice zdarzenia,które przytrafiło się mu z księciem Branickim i które zmusiło go najpierw do pojedynkuz księciem, a później do opuszczenia kraju. Znajomości zawarte na terenie Rzeczypospolitejzachęciły Casanovę do napisania Istoria delle turbolenze della Polonia, historycznego traktatuo kraju; dzieło jednak zostało nieukończone, co było powodem gorzkiej polemiki. Dziękiwnikliwemu obserwatorowi możemy uzyskać cenne uwagi nie tylko dotyczące charakteruautora, ale również Polski tamtych czasów. Informacje te w większości przypadków mająswoje odzwierciedlenie w dowodach historycznych i ukazują nam piękny portret ówczesnegospołeczeństwa polskiego. Słowa kluczowe: Giacomo Casanova, Giacomo Casanova w Polsce, Histoire de ma vie, Istoriadelle turbolenze della Polonia   Poland in the literary works of Giacomo Casanova Abstract The present article contains an analysis of Giacomo Casanova’s literary work, in which Polandappears. The Venetian seducer had stayed in Poland for several months before the countrydisappeared due to partitions. He described his experience in memoirs entitled Histoire dema vie, as well as in libretto Il Duello which chronicles an incident involving duke Branickiand which forced him to first duel the duke and later to leave the country. ConnectionsCasanova made in Poland stimulated him to write Istoria delle turbolenze della Polonia,a historical treatise about the country. However it was never finished which resulted in bitterdispute. Thanks to the soul of inquisitive observer we are given remarks concerning not onlythe author’s character but also those on Poland of that time. Said information is most oftenreflected by historical evidence and give us a perfect picture of Polish society of that period.     The life and works of Niccolò Paganini, a Genoese violinist, are the subject of many texts and articles. Despite the discovery of his letters and the existence of his numerous biographies, often divergent in content, from which I will try to reveal and compare more accurate and reliable information, there are many unclear issues concerning various episodes of his life. These doubts concern his stay in Wrocław, an episode of his life thought of as secondary in relation to many others, but in which many important events took place, events allowing for enrichment of his biography and getting to better know the personality of the Genoese master. The article offers an analysis of the master’s stay in Wrocław, comparing his more reliable biographies, extracting information from his personal letters, which are a valuable literary source, and not forgetting the art for which he lived, music.

    The article intends to analyse the short story Lu scïò by Roman writer Guido Milanesi, published after the First World War in the collection of stories Mar Sanguigno. Milanesi’s works belong to the genre of the colonial novel, but Milanesi can be mostly defined as a writer of sea tales. The article introduces the historical period in which Milanesi’s works were published and then presents the Adriatic legend of the waterspout and compares it with other local writings. A brief linguistic analysis follows, which examines the mixture of Italian dialect and maritime terms present in the story.
    L’articolo presenta brevemente il periodo in cui Guido Milanesi scriveva racconti di mare che si differenziano da quelli del successivo periodo caratterizzato invece dal romanzo di stampo coloniale. Successivamente si passa all’analisi del racconto Lu scïò, leggenda adriatica, prima introducendone la trama, poi spiegando l’origine e il significato di tale fenomeno. In seguito se ne cercano riscontri nella letteratura locale. Infine si propone una breve analisi linguistica, analizzando i termini dialettali e marinari presenti nel racconto.

    The following article presents the analysis of the last will of the most famous Renaissance sculptor and architect in Poland: the Tuscan Bartolomeo Berrecci, creator of the Sigismund Chapel in the Wawel Cathedral in Kraków. After a brief historical-cultural introduction where the artist’s arrival in Poland and his function at the court of King Sigismund I the Old are presented, the transcription of the artist’s testament, written by his own hand in the Italian language and recorded in the archives of the ancient city of Kazimierz, is included, followed by an in-depth analysis. At first, the analysis will concentrate on content and structure: the characters and properties mentioned in the document will be presented along with the document’s form. Subsequently, morphological and terminological analyses will be carried out, which will confirm the use of the Florentine language of the late-fifteenth and early-sixteenth centuries, as well as the presence of specific terms related to the Polish reality in which the artist lived for almost 20 years, giving the document historical and linguistic value, in addition to classic values that are spiritual and notarial.
    Il seguente articolo presenta l’analisi del testamento del più famoso scultore e architetto del Rinascimento in Polonia: il toscano Bartolomeo Berrecci, autore, tra le altre opere, della Cappella di Sigismondo nella cattedrale del Wawel a Cracovia. Dopo una breve introduzione storico-culturale in cui vengono presentati il suo arrivo in Polonia e la sua funzione alla corte del re Sigismondo il Vecchio, viene riportata la trascrizione del testamento dell’artista, redatto di propria mano in lingua italiana e conservato negli archivi dell’antica città di Casimiria, cui segue un’approfondita analisi. Dapprima essa sarà di carattere contenutistico e strutturale: verranno infatti esposti i personaggi e le proprietà citate nel documento, così come la sua forma. In seguito si passerà alle analisi morfologica e terminologica in cui si troveranno conferme dell’utilizzo della lingua fiorentina di fine Quattrocento e primi Cinquecento, ma anche la presenza di termini specifici, come p. es. prestiti integrati, legati alla realtà polacca in cui l’artista visse per quasi un ventennio, conferendo al documento stesso, oltre ai classici valori spirituale e notarile, anche quelli storico e linguistico.

    “Fortunate” Italian in Cracow. Biography and linguistic and literary work of Giannini Fortunato between Italy and Poland Every student of Italian during their studies surely came across the name of Giannini Fortunato in the context of his two most famous in Poland works: Italian-Polish Polish-Italian Dictionary and The Practical Method of Italian Language. This teacher of Italian language, who came to Cracow over a decade ago, without any doubt provided a further boost to the linguistic and cultural relations existing between these two countries for centuries. The present article aims at presenting the biography and achievements of Giannini, who appears to be highly prolific in the fields of both languages. Moreover, the literary heritage left by Giannini is undoubtedly worth paying attention both from historical as well as from linguistic point of view.

    From Padova to Krakow: reminiscences of Nelly Nucci (1901–1940) as Italian language teacher and promoter at the Jagiellonian University The purpose of the article is to analyse life as well as literary works and years of teaching Italian in Poland of Nelly Nucci, an Italian lecturer at the Jagiellonian University for almost a decade. The analysis of the above mentioned aspect is based on documents from archives and journalism from this period, which allows us to get to know the activity of the person, who with time became a Polish language and literature professor in Italy. This article presents also her scientific activities which embraces both Polish and Italian literature and leads to consolidation of relations between the two countries. The article is a rememberance of prof. Nucci’s works, nowadays unfairly forgotten nevertheless representing an important stage of development of Italian studies at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow.

    The article investigates an episode from Giacomo Casanova’s life concerning his stay in Wrocław, which was described in his biography entitled Histoire de ma vie. The analysis takes into consideration the structure of the whole biography. The main purpose of this article is to find in this work the most characteristic features of Casanova’s writing, as well as information on this period, its main representatives and the historical background of Wrocław of that time. Casanova, leaving Poland after a duel with Franciszek Ksawery Branicki, decides to go to Dresden, where his family lives, spending three days in Wrocław. In this short time Casanova makes the acquaintance of Abbot Bastiani, a very interesting person. At the same time, Casanova meets a young girl and once more begins to believe in love. The part of his biography concerning Wrocław provides an opportunity to analyse psychological aspects of these two people.

    The paper aims to analyse Jaroslav Rosendorfský’s bilingual Italian-Czech / Czech-Italian dictionary. After briefly presenting the Czech-Italian lexicographic contacts, we analyse the macroand microstructure of this lexicographic work, highlighting the characteristics that, as of the 60 years leading to the beginning of the 21st century, made it the most popular bilingual Italian-Czech and Czech-Italian dictionary.
    L’articolo ha come scopo l’analisi del dizionario bilingue italiano-ceco/ceco-italiano realizzato da Jaroslav Rosendorfský. Dopo aver presentato brevemente i contatti lessicografici cecoitaliani fino al momento dell’uscita del summenzionato dizionario, si passa all’analisi della macroe microstruttura di quest’opera lessicografica, delle sue finalità, mettendo in evidenza le caratteristiche che dagli anni Sessanta del XX secolo fino agli inizi del terzo Millennio ne hanno fatto il più popolare dizionario bilingue italiano-ceco e ceco-italiano.

    The purpose of this is to analyze the toponyms present in some Italian-Polish and Polish-Italian bilingual dictionaries. After selecting a “skeleton” of the dictionaries that trace part of the history of the bilingual lexicography in question, we move on to the analysis of the toponyms used in the dictionaries. In a lexicultural context, understood as the transfer of the cultural elements of a given language, we observe the choices made by lexicographers of the different eras and try to understand the reasons, sometimes of a personal nature or dictated by the historical context, or sometimes influenced by the political system in a given country. At the same time, we want to highlight the evolution in the diachronic field that toponyms and their equivalents have had in the dictionaries in question, as well as their value in teaching a particular foreign language.
