    Every subject matter when closely analyzed contains a set of attributes which are vital to understand the subject matter in question and to ensure that every individual uses a unified nomenclature. Adhesives can be described by a series of properties that are vital for understanding them, for example cohesion and adhesion. Other properties are important for ensuring a certain adhesive is proper for a specific use case scenario (bonding surface types, machine compatibility). This section defines and elaborates on some of the most important adhesive properties for bookbinding and packaging purposes, clarifies adhesive nomenclature and describes bond susceptibility types.
    Klej to często niedoceniany materiał poligraficzny, który dostrzegany jest dopiero w sytuacji, gdy książka, opakowanie lub inny produkt poligraficzny nie spełnia wymogów pod względem wytrzymałości łączenia jego elementów. Istnieje wiele rodzajów klejów stosowanych w poligrafii: od klejów PUR (poliuretanowe), poprzez wodne dyspersje poli- i copolimerowe, aż po kleje roślinne i zwierzęce. Wszystkie one charakteryzują się zestawem konkretnych atrybutów definiujących ich właściwości i zastosowanie. W artykule wymienione i opisane zostały najważniejsze właściwości klejów poligraficznych oraz najczęstsze rodzaje uszkodzeń spoiny klejowej.

    Opis:
    Along with the evolution of our civilization is increasing demand for faster and cheaper transport, both from the point of view of trade and normal movement of people. In the case of trade most often we are dealing with the transport of the freight traffic, where the goods are not carrying by one type of transport. In this type of carriage time between transhipments on exchange stations plays an important role. The correct use of modern ICT (information and communication technologies), both wired and wireless for control loads, vehicles and carriers can significantly reduce total transport time and costs. Additional monitoring of the status of land units’ drivers allows increasing the security and the reliability to wirelessly check the content and status of the load increases the reliability of the correct transport. Therefore, this article presents the use of modern wireless technologies (LTE-A, 802.11ac) and backbones of public networks (1…100 GbE) on the exchange stations.

    Results of the first principle study on a fabrication of FeAl intermetallic based alloy with an addition of nanometric αAl2O3 (n-Al2O3) particles by the LENS method and a subsequent characterization of the as received materials’ structure and properties, are shown in the present work. A series of samples were manufactured using LENS technique while a control of temperature and the size of melted metal pool. The presence of ceramics nanoparticles was not directly confirmed by microscopy observations. Neither aluminum nor oxygen content was not elevated in the material with n-Al2O3 content. Although, indirect methods revealed influence of n-Al2O3 addition on the manufactured elements structure. Analyses of porosity has shown that addition of 2% vol. n-Al2O3 significantly decreases this feature (~1%), as compared to the reference material made of pure FeAl intermetallic alloy (~5%). The addition of n-Al2O3 causes an increase of grain size in Fe40Al intermetallic alloy. An oxidation resistance has been also improved what was associated to the n-Al2O3 addition. Four times lower increase of samples mass was noticed for sample with the n-Al2O3 addition as compared to the pure Fe40Al intermetallic alloy.

    The paper concerns the issue of using social media in small and medium sized enterprises. Many authors argue that there is a unique relationship between the social media and SMEs in the economic sphere. The social media uniquely impact the market in the marketing platform to increase sales, reduce costs and increase profitability. Also, social media enable the direct communication with clients and its adoption by firms has generally increased over time. However, little is known about how small firms use these digital technologies. Furthermore, there are not many publications about the methods of implementation of social media in small companies. Therefore, the study carried out in this research has developed a conceptual framework of implementing Social Media in small businesses. Moreover, readers can find information on the benefits of using these tools and some recommendations for effective implementation to improve business.
    Artykuł dotyczy zagadnienia wykorzystania mediów społecznościowych w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach. Wielu autorów twierdzi, że istnieje ścisły związek między mediami społecznościowymi a MŚP w sferze gospodarczej. Media społecznościowe mają wyjątkowy wpływ na rynek w platformie marketingowej- zwiększają sprzedaż, obniżają koszty i polepszają rentowność. Ponadto media społecznościowe umożliwiają bezpośrednią komunikację z klientami. Jednak niewiele wiadomo o tym, jak małe firmy korzystają z tych technologii cyfrowych. Ponadto nie ma wielu publikacji na temat metod wdrażania mediów społecznościowych w małych firmach. W badaniu przeprowadzonym w ramach tego opracowania zaproponowano sposoby wdrażania mediów społecznościowych w małych firmach. Co więcej, czytelnicy mogą znaleźć informacje na temat korzyści płynących z używania tych narzędzi oraz zalecenia dotyczące skutecznej implementacji w celu usprawnienia działalności biznesu.

    In this work, FEI SciosTM field emission gun scanning electron microscope (FEG SEM) equipped with a unique combination of analytical and imaging detectors was utilized to examine structure and chemistry of selected Si/ refractory couples. The couples were obtained in wettability tests performed by the sessile drop method coupled with contact heating of a refractory substrate (h-BN, SiC) at ultra-high temperature (up to 1750°C). The SEM observations were carried out on top-views of the couples, in order to evaluate surface and interfacial phenomena in Si/h-BN and Si/SiC systems. A full range of available detectors (e.g. classical Everhart-Thornley detector (ETD) or advanced in-lens detectors) working under various operation modes (secondary electrons (SE), backscattered electrons (BSE), a mixed mode), were used upon analyses in order to reveal specific features of obtained structures.

    Obecnie wykorzystanie technologii informatycznych może uczynić nasze życie lepszym i łatwiejszym, a rozwój Internetu może zasadniczo zmienić sposób działalności w firmach. Podmioty świadczące usługi logistyczne widzą potrzebę zmiany tradycyjnego modelu logistycznego na model e-logistyki. Jest to konieczne w celu dostosowania się do dynamicznych zmian w świecie globalnego handlu elektronicznego. Obecna gospodarka cyfrowa jest napędzana dużą ilością informacji, nowymi narzędziami ICT i technologiami wykorzystywanymi przez wszystkich do osiągnięcia rozwoju działalności. Korzystanie z e-logistyki może zminimalizować koszty nabycia, przesyłania, odbioru i sprzedaży nie tylko towarów, ale także usług. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zdefiniowanie pojęć i określenie znaczenia wykorzystania systemów e-logistyki w biznesie na przykładzie Elektronicznej Giełdy Towarowej (EGT). W pierwszej części opracowania autorzy wyjaśniają różnice między logistyką i e-logistyką. Kolejna część pracy prezentuje aspekty i założenia dotyczące e-logistyki. Dalsza część artykułu skoncentrowana została na zbadaniu aktualnej sytuacji w zakresie wykorzystania systemów e-logistyki na przykładzie EGT, efektem czego jest analiza porównawcza wybranych elektronicznych giełd towarowych.
    Nowadays, the use of Information Technologies Systems can make our life better and easier, as the incredible growth of the Internet is changing the way corporations conduct their business. Logistic service operators see the need to change the traditional logistics system into e-logistics. It is necessary to accommodate the dynamic changes in the commercial world. The current digital economy is driven by modern information and new ICT tools, new technologies used by everyone for stronger development of their activities. Using e-logistics may minimize the costs of acquisition, transmission, reception and sales. The purpose of this article is to analyze the notion and importance of using e-logistic systems in business with the example of Electronic Freight Exchange (EFX). In the first part of the paper, the authors explain the difference between logistics and e-logistics. The next part of the paper is devoted to presenting the aspects and fundamentals of e-logistics and their advantages as well. Moreover, the areas which might be improved are indicated. The further part of the paper is focused on the situation in e-logistics systems with the EFX example. In that section a comparative analysis of selected electronic freight exchanges can be found. This study brings its contribution to the understanding of the changes in logistics, in particular, in the EFX systems.

    Introduction. Currently, malignancies are the most severe medical problems worldwide. Numerous, already known risk factors in carcinogenesis could be potentially avoided. Some cancer risk factors have been recognized and have become the targets of primary prophylaxis. Objective. The aim of the study was to ascertain the state of knowledge about risk factors, primary prevention and early detection of malignancies of gastrointestinal tract (GIT) in the urban and rural population of the Lublin province in Eastern Poland. Materialas and method. The study was cross-sectional. The originally designed questionnaire was applied to the group of 1,352 patients, representatives of both the rural and urban environments of the Lublin province during random appointments with their general practitioner (GP). Results. The study showed low awareness of the issues connected with GIT malignancies within the studied group. The problem was particulary apparent in the rural population. Conclusions. In order to raise general awareness of cancer, different means should be applied in urban and rural populations. GPs and the media were found to have the leading rols in the promotion of primary prevention.

    In this work, for the first time the results of an experimental evaluation of the high temperature behavior of molten Si-B alloy in contact with refractory materials at temperatures up to 1750°C, under static argon atmosphere (p = 850– 900 mbar), is shown. The material investigated, having a nominal chemical composition of Si-13.5B (at. %), was fabricated by using the crucible-less electric arc-melting process assisted by the levitation drop method. The wettability of the molten alloy in contact with commercial hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) substrates was evaluated by means of especially developed sessile drop technique combined with a contact heating procedure. It was found that both couples show a lack of wettability in the whole tested temperature range (the measured contact angle was θ > 130°). The more stable behavior in contact with molten Si-13.B alloy, evidenced by higher θ values and a lack of drop vibration during the high temperature exposition, was observed for the h-BN based composite substrate.

    Introduction and objectives: In the United States, breast cancer (BC) is the most common non-skin cancer. In Poland, it is estimated that the number of new breast cancer cases affects about 13,500 women each year. There are many methods for nutritional status assessment. One of them is bioimpedance analysis (BIA). Direct bioimpedance measures (resistance, reactance, phase angle (PA)) determined by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) detectf changes in tissue electrical properties. The study was conducted to investigate whether there are any tissue electrical differences in patients with breast cancer. Materials and methods: The direct bioimpedance measures determined by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) were performed on 34 patients with BC and 34 healthy volunteers. The measurements were made with ImpediMed bioimpedance analysis SFB7 BioImp v1.55 (Pinkenba Qld 4008, Australia). Results: Reactance and resistance at 50 kHz was found to be significantly greater in patients with BC than in the control group (53.59° ± 1.53 vs. 47.26° ± 1.25, respectively, p=0.0031; 603.24° ± 15.38 ohm vs. 515.87° ± 11.48 ohm, respectively, p=0.00004). Conclusion: Pre-surgical patients diagnosed with BC have altered tissue electrical properties. Further observations of a larger patient group would be valuable to calculate survival, validate the prognostic significance of PA, and monitor nutritional and therapeutic interventions in this patient population.
