Opis:
Antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella has been associated with the presence of integrons and many other resistance mechanisms contributing to the spread of antimicrobial-resistant genes within and between livestock and human populations. In this study, the presence of Salmonella serovars from broiler and cattle samples and their antimicrobial resistance, integrons, tet resistance, ESBL and resistance genes carriage were investigated. Total of 209 litter (broiler farms) and fecal samples (cattle farms) were examined by bacteriological procedures, susceptibilities against 18 antimicrobials and genes carriages were detected by singleplex and multiplex PCR. A total of 46/209 (22 %) Salmonella strains were isolated. Six different Salmonella serotypes from 46 Salmonella isolates were identified and the most common serotype was S. Infantis 38 (82.6%) from broiler litter; followed by S. Kitenge 3 (6.5 %) from fecal sample. The highest occurrence of resistance observed for penicilline (46/46, %100), lincomycin (43/46, 93.5%) and 42 isolates (43/46, 93.5%) exhibited MDR. The overall occurrence of class 1, 2 and 3 integrons carrying Salmonella in tested samples were 63.04% (29/46), 43.5% (20/46) and 84.8% (39/46) respectively. Out of the 27 isolates produced an ESBL, mostly CTX and TEM. On 46 Salmonella isolates, in 16 (34.8%) Tcr’ genes were determined. Genotypic and phenotipic detection of ESBL genes found within integrons from Salmonella isolates from different sources (broiler and cattle) can provide powerful information about health and economic risk associated with transferable multidrug resistance.

Opis:
We focused on the interaction between two ferromagnetic cobalt layers through a non-magnetic titanium layer. The magnetic properties of the structure were characterized by ferromagnetic resonance technique. The data were collected as a function of non-magnetic titanium layer thickness. Co/Ti multilayer (Ti(50 Å)/Co(45 Å)/Ti(2-40 Å)/Co(40 Å)/Ti(100 Å)) films were grown onto naturally oxidized p-type single crystal Si (100) substrate at UHV condition with magnetron sputtering system at room temperature. The thickness of Ti spacer layer ranges from 2 to 40 Å with 2 Å steps. We did not observe usual optic and acoustic modes; instead we had two broad overlapped peaks for the films ranged from 6 Å to 40 Å. One interesting result was the high anisotropic resonance field values for these films. Exchange coupling between ferromagnetic layers causes shift on resonance field values but these shifts in our samples were much larger than expected. This large anisotropic behavior is not clear at the moment. Our theoretical model was not able to determine a value for the exchange coupling parameter. One reason can be the close thickness values for Co sublayers. The other reason can be the Ti non-magnetic layer. If titanium did not grow layer by layer on cobalt, the cobalt ferromagnetic layers may behave as a single layer. As a result one cannot observe exchange interaction between ferromagnetic layers through non-magnetic spacer.

Opis:
The main issue addressed in present study is exchange coupling modification between ferromagnetic layers through non-magnetic spacer layers using extra ultra-thin ferromagnetic layers (Co). In order to achieve this goal, we prepared Cr(50 Å) / Py(20 Å) / Co(5 Å) / Cr(7, 10, 13 Å) / Co(5 Å) / Py (30 Å) / Cr(50Å) / Si using magnetron sputtering at UHV conditions and characterized by Ferromagnetic Resonance (FMR) technique. As the present study results were compared to our previous study on (Py/Cr), the exchange coupling energy was increased ten times with the cobalt thin layer

Opis:
Heavy metals affect biochemical pathway by changing the fatty acid composition in plant cells. The high concentration of heavy metals impresses biochemical pathway and changes fatty acid compositions of plant cells. Fatty acids participate in various biological processes and have the functional role in regulating membrane functions in plants. In the present study, heavy metal content was analyzed with ICP-MS, fatty acid composition was investigated with GC and physiological parameters were determined with spectrophotometrically in the leaves of tomato subjected to increasing doses of heavy metals. In this study, the treatment of heavy metals on the growth medium changed the fatty acid contents of corn. The application of Cu significantly increased the level of palmitic acid and oleic acid. The treatment of Pb raised the content of oleic acid, whereas it significantly decreased the content of α-linolenic acid and erucic acid at 20 and 50 mg kg⁻¹, respectively. The addition of Cd significantly increased the level of oleic acid and linoleic acid; however, it significantly decreased the content of α-linolenic acid and erucic acid. Cu and Pb significantly raised the proline content. The application of Cu and Cd showed similar effect on hydrogen peroxide and the higher doses of them increased the content of H₂O₂. The level of lipid peroxidation significantly increased in response to all applied concentration of Cu. The results obtained in this study show that the aapplication of heavy metals changed the content of fatty acids, particularly that of oleic acid significantly increased in response to them. The levels of proline and lipid peroxidation generally increased together with oleic acid and palmitic acid in the leaves in reply to copper.
