    The article presents a linguistic analysis of a charter from the 17th century entitled “Wilkierz dla wsi klasztoru Panny Marji w Kartuzach” published by Stanisław Kutrzeba and Alfons Mańkowski in 1938 in “Archiwum Komisji Prawniczej, volume 11”. The text of an unknown scrivener was written in New High German in the Silesian dialect, which can be proved on the basis of the legal notation. The author shows the results of his analysis demonstrating the stage of the development of the vowels in the unstressed syllables with the appropriate examples.

    Poniższy artykuł stanowi próbę analizy fonematyczno-grafematycznej niemieckich nazw zawodów w łacińskich wpisach toruńskiej Księgi proskrybowanych z lat 1358–1412 celem odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy wybranymateriał językowymoże stanowić reprezentatywny korpus badawczy do wysnucia wniosków o stadium rozwoju języka niemieckiego na przełomie XIV i XV wieku. Ustalono większość wczesno-nowo-wysoko-niemieckich standardowych zmian językowych oraz zjawiska o charakterze dialektalnym. Wskazano także na cechy śląskiego dialektu języka niemieckiego używanego na tym terenie, który rozprzestrzeniał się w Europie Środkowej, Wschodniej i Południowo-Wschodniej w ramach niemieckiego osadnictwa na Wschodzie. Wszystkie zmiany i cechy językowe zostały poparte odpowiednimi egzemplifikacjami.
    The article presents the results of a phonemic-graphemic analysis of German official job titles in the Latin proscription entries from the turn of the 15th century, which come from the Book of the proscribed people from the New City of Thorn/Toruń, and were written down in the Silesian dialect of Early New High German. Due to the analysis, it could be proved that the text contains the majority of the standard Early New High German features as well as the dialectal structures and the sound changes which are characteristic for the Silesian dialect, which spread in Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe within the context of German Eastwards Expansion. All the results of the exploration are supported with appropriate examples.

    Opis:
    The article presents the results of the phonemic-graphemic analysis of the German dispositions upon death drawn up by spouses from the first half of the 14th century, which come from the town council of Zgorzelec (Görlitz). The dispositions constitute a part of the first liber civitatis of Zgorzelec (Görlitz). The aim of the paper is to answer the question how far the script fixes the features of the spoken language. Due to the analysis it could be unambiguously proved, the German used in the text corresponds to the level of development of the German language within the periodization of history of the language as it contains the standard Early New High German features as well as the dialectal structures and the sound changes, which are characteristic for the Silesian dialect. The text can therefore be classified as one of the linguistic monuments of the East Central German of Silesian tradition. All the results of the exploration are supported with the appropriate examples.

    The present paper involves a textlinguistic‑codicological analysis and attempts to identify the specific features of the Polish administrative language in the entries of the 19th c. parish register from the town of Busko‑Zdrój. The aim of the study is to answer the question as to whether the examined annotations can be regarded as a pattern of a parish register record, and henceforth as a text type. The author investigates the structure and characteristics of different register entries, with research field determined by the general structure and functionfunction of parish register records and annotations of these records.

    The article hereunder presents the language analysis of the “Acts of the Apostles” from 14th century published by Walther Ziesemer in 1927. The text of an unknown scribe was written in Early New High German in the Silesian dialect. The aim of the paper is to analyze the grammaticalization’s grade of chosen morphological and syntactic language features. In the investigation there is scrutinized the using of the mandatory subject pronouns and of the articles, which can be seen as a result of the weakening of vowel articulation and the subsequent development of the vowels in the unstressed syllables. The third part of the paper concerns the forming of the German future tense (Futur I) and its absolute presence in the analyzed text from the middle of the 14th century without other forms with the modal or motion verbs. The author introduces the results of his analysis showing the stage of the development of the chosen morphological and syntactic phenomena with the appropriate examples.

    Poniższy artykuł stanowi próbę analizy obcojęzycznych interferencji wynikających z kontaktu językowego w kontekście czynników pozajęzykowych na przykładzie angielskich zapożyczeń leksykalnych oraz stopnia ich asymilacji w języku docelowym. Korpus badawczy ujęty został dwupłaszczyznowo: z jednej strony analizie poddane zostały angielskie czasowniki docierające do współczesnej niemczyzny; drugi obszar badań obejmuje szereg niemieckich słów zapożyczonych do języka polskiego w wyniku przeszłego kontaktu językowego. Dokonana przez autora analiza uwzględnia czynniki wspierające proces przejmowania nowych słów. Tło dla rozważań językoznawczych stanowi natomiast kontekst uwarunkowań historycznych i cywilizacyjnych, który jest zależny od aktualnych potrzeb danego społeczeństwa oraz kierunku, z którego rozprzestrzenia się rozwój kulturowy.
    The paper hereunder is an attempt at an analysis of foreign-language interferences which follow from language contact in the context of extralingual factors based on the example of English lexical borrowings and the degree of their assimilation in the target language. The research area has been presented on two levels: on one level the analysis includes English verbs which have come into contemporary German language. On another level the corpus constitutes some German words borrowed into the Polish language as a result of language contact from the past. The analysis was conducted in view of factors supporting the borrowing process. The context for the linguistic study is a historical and industrial background, which depends on the current needs of the specific society and on the direction from which the cultural development is propagated.

    Artykuł stanowi próbę tekstologiczno-kodykologicznej analizy i prezentacji charakterystycznych cech polskiego i rosyjskiego języka urzędowego w adnotacjach parafialnej, metrykalnej księgi uro- dzonych (ochrzczonych) z Buska-Zdroju z XIX wieku. Celem eksploracji jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy analizowane wpisy w księgach mogą być postrzegane jako schemat noty w parafialnej księdze metrykalnej, a zatem jako typ tekstu. Autor koncentruje uwagę na strukturze i cechach charakterystycznych poszczególnych adnotacji. Tłem tak zdefiniowanego obszaru badawczego jest natomiast zarys struktury i funkcji parafialnej księgi metrykalnej oraz jej wpisów.

    Językowy obraz świata, stanowiący warunkowany przez daną kulturę i odzwierciedlony w języku sposób percepcji świata, oraz komunikacyjna funkcja języka, stanowić mogą bazę dla dociekań, czy – i ewentualnie w jakim stopniu – dane pojęcie używane w akcie komunikacji odzwierciedla zamysł mówiącego oraz odpowiada odbiciu obrazu tegoż pojęcia w jego świadomości oraz czy owo wyrażane przez komunikującego słowo ewokuje taki sam – albo przynajmniej podobny – obraz w świadomości odbiorcy przekazywanego komunikatu. Ranga tego zagadnienia uwypukla się w szczególności w odniesieniu do języka prawnego, w ramach którego precyzja wypowiedzi powinna być podstawowym dążeniem ustawodawcy. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy pojęcia polskiego i niemieckiego języka prawa spadkowego zawsze oddają treść, którą mają opisywać, czy też istnieją w tych językach takie słowa, które na płaszczyźnie językowej sugerują inną treść prawną, niż ta, której nośnikiem mają one być w założeniu ustawodawców. W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wyniki analizy wybranych pojęć opisujących instytucje prawa spadkowego pod kątem pełnionej przez nie funkcji referencyjnej w nawiązaniu do odzwierciedlonego w nich językowego obrazu świata.
    The linguistic image of the world, constituting the way of perceiving the world conditioned by a given culture and reflected in its language, and the communicative function of language, may constitute the basis for inquiries as to whether – and possibly to what extent – a given concept used in the act of communication reflects the speaker’s intention and corresponds to the reflection of an image of the concept in his/her consciousness and whether the word expressed by the communicator evokes the same – or at least a similar – image in the consciousness of the recipient of the transmitted message. The importance of this issue is emphasized in particular with regard to a legal language, where the precision of expression should be the legislator’s primary aspiration. This article is an attempt to answer the question as to whether the terms of the Polish and German language of inheritance law always reflect the content they are meant to describe, or whether there are words in these languages that on the linguistic level point to a different legal content than the one they are supposed to convey according to lawmakers. The article presents the results of the analysis of selected concepts describing the institutions of inheritance law in terms of their reference function to the linguistic worldview reflected in them.

    This article presents an attempt to show the specific features of the German legal language in the chosen wills of the nobility from Royal Prussia of the 17th century, in the area of German settlement in the East. The investigation aims to answer the question as to whether the examined testaments suit the pattern of the will as a text type. The author focuses on the graphemic, lexical and syntactic levels of the testament. The outline of structure and function of wills provides the background for such a defined research area.
