Opis:
EGNOS - the first European satellite navigation system is a join project of the European Space Agency, Eurocontrol, European Commission and represents the fist step to towards Galileo - autonomous navigation satellite system of the 2nd generation (GNSS-2). The system Operational Readiness Review (ORR), took place in June 2005 and resumed of more than eight years of studies, works, leaded by ESA and an industrial consortium with Alcatel Space as the Prime Contractor. The Initial Operations Phase has therefore started in July 2005 as an effect of successful negotiations between ESA and European Satellite Services Provider. During the last years many different test, trials and measurement campaigns have been done in positioning, navigation, time services and other application for improving different characteristics of EGNOS [4, 5]. Some of them were also realised in Poland [1, 2] and observed accuracy confirm high system performances. Poland is at the edge of the system coverage then the system disturbances could be more probable than in the central part of the Europe. Presented paper reports final results of the, long-term static measuring campaigns, which were done before the EGNOS System Test Bed (ESTB) ending. Two-week accuracy analyses were done and the position error statistic distributions of system were also compared with the classical DGPS based on LF/MF reference station.

Opis:
The paper presents the methodology of GPS measurements and data elaboration for control points in the Wieruszów District area. GPS measurements of 988 points were executed with the use of static method during ten days of measurements and twelve GPS receivers of Ashtech company i.e. Z-XII, Z-Surveyor, Z-Xtreme. The results and analyses of adjustment and transformation from ETRF-89 to the national coordinate systems: ,,1965" and ,,2000" were also presented. Due to bad observational conditions of GPS measurements there were about thirty points on which GPS measurements were repeated in order to achieve reliable and accurate results. Additionally, loop closures of baselines and geometric conditions of ambiguity network solutions were successfully useful before final adjustment.

The results of GPS static measurements, conducted in the first measurement campaign at the reference and check points should be adopted as the values of reference for future observation results. The measurement procedures, developed for the first campaign, should be followed in further measurements. The measurement equipment (pole for forced centring of a GPS aerial, GPS aerial, GPS receiver) assigned to each point during the first campaign, should be used each time at the check points. The same calculation procedure should be followed in the analysis of the GPS observation data in future measurement campaigns. If the need to change the calculation procedure is justified, the calculations from previous measurement campaigns should be absolutely redone.

Opis:
The data obtained in the precise levelling performed by the Przedsiębiorstwo Geologiczno - Geodezyjne ,"Geoprojekt - Gdańsk", as well as the material analyses, indicate the need to conduct further observations of dislocations in the Main and Old City of Gdańsk in the next years, in intervals of at least six months, controlled by independent fundamental altitude points. The results of GPS static measurements at reference and check points, conducted during the first year, should be taken as reference values for the measurements conducted in subsequent years. The differences in the results from consecutive years will indicate the existence of vertical and horizontal movements of the earth's surface, where the City of Gdansk is situated. The check points, stabilised with fundamental altitude points, will be used to monitor the settlement of historical tenement houses in Gdańsk. Measurement of horizontal and vertical deformations of the earth surface in the areas where valuable objects of our cultural heritage are situated will make it possible to detect potential threats and to take action to prevent considerable damage.

Opis:
Contemporary geodesy is of global dimension. The reference frame is defined as the geocentric system with parameters related to the entire Earth body, e.g. the axis of rotation, and global geoid. The unified time scale is determined for the whole Earth territory as well. International services using different satellite techniques are engaged in the determination of this frame. Particularly important is the Global Positioning System GPS, which is the most important geodetic tool nowadays. In Poland a number of geodetic observatories are working in the frame of the international networks, Polish scientific groups contribute to the advancement of science in this domain. For the practical applications we are using the local networks that again are constructed with satellite techniques. In Europe the regional network EUREF exists while its part EUREF-POL and densification POLREF are in Poland. The modern network ASG-EUPOS is under construction. The GPS technique is used for surveying and navigation and for the positioning in motion, which is in-between the preceding traditional methods. Differential augmentation methods are designed to improve GPS signals such as DGPS and EGNOS. The new European satellite navigation system Galileo is in development. Poland is a member and coowner of this system. A number of Polish research institutions are working on new methods of the practical application of GNSS.
