Opis:
Resonant photoemission experiments were carried out in order to reveal the contributions of partly filled Eu 4f$\text{}^{7}$ and Gd 4f$\text{}^{7}$ shells to the valence bands of Pb$\text{}_{0.95}$Eu$\text{}_{0.05}$S and Pb$\text{}_{0.95}$Gd$\text{}_{0.05}$S crystals. The coupling between these orbitals and the host electronic states is discussed.

Opis:
Resonant photoemission spectra of Sn$\text{}_{1-x}$Gd$\text{}_{x}$Te (x=0.02 and 0.08) measured for the photon energy range 142 to 151 eV show the valence band density of states distribution and the Gd 4f derived maximum. The energy position of the J=0 component of the Gd 4f maximum was determined and used as a measure of the Gd 4f shell binding energy. The electrostatic model of core level shifts was used to interpret the difference in the Gd 4f binding energies observed for x=0.02 and x=0.08.

Opis:
Electronic states of 4f samarium ions were investigated by photoemission spectroscopy in samarium-rich CdSmTe sample obtained by MBE. The photon energy of synchrotron radiation allowed to investigate Fano-type resonance and antiresonance. The energy distribution curve spectra were attributed to the Sm 4d-4f transition. The shape of the constant initial states spectra was compared with this one obtained for atomic samarium.

Opis:
A resonant photoemission was used to study the ternary crystal formation, when small amount of Fe atoms was deposited (in one monolayer range of thickness) on the clean CdTe(100) surface. The constant initial state spectra taken near the Fe 3p-3d transition after Fe deposition and then again after heating process show the existence of two Fano-like resonance. The differences of the energy distribution curves taken for both resonance and antiresonance, respectively, allow us to distinguish two kind of Fe 3d contributions to the valence band: one derived from the metallic Fe islands on the surface and the second - derived from the Fe atoms built into the Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Fe$\text{}_{x}$Te crystal.

The synchrotron radiation was applied to measure resonant photoemission spectra (Fano-type Gd 4d-4f resonance), constant initial states and constant final states to study the valence band electronic structure of Sn$\text{}_{0.96}$Gd$\text{}_{0.04}$Te crystal. The resonant energy was found equal to 150.3 eV. The electrons 4f were found to contribute to the valence band of the crystal with the maximum located at 9.5 eV below the valence band edge whereas 5d electrons contribute at the crystal valence band edge.

Opis:
Photoemission measurements using synchrotron radiation were performed on PbYbTe (bulk crystal) and CdYbTe (MBE thin film). The resonant enhancement of the photoemission was applied for investigation of the contribution of Yb 4f electrons to the valence band. The set of the energy distribution curves was collected for energies in the region close to the 4d-4f Fano transition. The Yb 4f$\text{}^{14}$ were observed at the binding energies close to the edge of the valence band while the 4f$\text{}^{13}$ states were revealed deep in the valence band.

Jednym z nielicznych zabytków w Białymstoku, który nie uległ zniszczeniu w okresie II wojny światowej jest XVIII-wieczna Wielka Brama prowadząca na dziedziniec Pałacu Branickich. Ta piękna budowla, według pisemnych przekazów, za czasów Jana Klemensa Branickiego była zwieńczona rzeżbą Gryfa trzymającego w szponach tarczę z inicjałami Hetmana. Rzeżba była wykonana z drewna, materiału nieodpornego na destrukcyjne wpływy atmosferyczne i po kilkunastu latach eksploatacji uległa zniszczeniu. Rekonstrukcję Gryfa podjęto na podstawie odnalezionych rysunków architekta francuskiego Pierr'a Ricauda de Tirregaille'a, działającego na dworach Branickich i Potockich w drugiej połowie XVIII wieku. W 1994 roku wśród odnalezionych w Paryżu dziewięciu rysunków tego architekta, cztery z nich dotyczyły założenia pałacowo-ogrodowego Branickich w Białymstoku.
One of the few monuments in Biatystok to escape destruction during World War II is the 18th-century Great Gate leading to the courtyard of the Branicki Palace. According to written records, in the times of Jan Klemens Branicki this beautiful structure was topped with a statue of a griffin, which held in its talons a shield bearing the Hetman's initials. The sculpture was made of wood, a material which is not resistant to the effects of atmospheric conditions, and had been destroyed by the end of its second decade. Reconstruction of the griffin was undertaken based on newly discovered drawings made by the French architect Pierre Ricaud de Tirregaille, who worked in the courts of the Branicki and Potocki families in the second half of the 18th century. Among nine of the architect's drawings found in Paris in 1994, four of them concerned the palace and garden of the Branickis' seat in Białystok.

The room temperature reflectivity spectra of the Zn$\text{}_{1-x}$Co$\text{}_{x}$Se (x = 0, 0.03, 0.05) crystals have been measured in the visible and ultraviolet range from 1.7 to 12 eV. The structure of the spectra was interpreted in terms of the electronic band structure of the binary material (ŻnSe). The experimental results were compared with the reflectivity spectra of the Fe-based semi magnetic semiconductors [1], and the interpretation was confronted with the conclusions derived from the photoemission experiments performed for Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Co$\text{}_{x}$Se [2] and the tight-binding CPA calculations of the band structure of Zn$\text{}_{1-x}$Co$\text{}_{x}$Se [3].

We report the results of a resonant photoemission study of Zn$\text{}_{1-x}$Co$\text{}_{x}$S. A Co 3d derived contribution to the valence band spectra was revealed as a 5 eV wide structure with two maxima: at the edge of the valence band and about 4 eV below the edge. The results were compared with the total DOS distribution resulting from tight binding-coherent potential approximation calculations.

W artykule autorzy rozpatrują jeden z aspektów zrównoważonego budownictwa – aspekt socjalny. Wśród aspektów społecznych, zgodnie z normą PN-EN 16309+A1:2014-12 wyróżniono następujące właściwości użytkowe budynku: dostępność, adaptowalność, komfort i zdrowie, wpływ sąsiedztwa, utrzymanie, bezpieczeństwo i ochronę. Autorzy przeprowadzili badania ankietowe wśród mieszkańców dzielnic Krakowa. W ankiecie uszczegółowiono pytania dotyczące właściwości użytkowych budynków. Badania miały na celu ustalić jak użytkownicy oceniają istotność badanych cech, które wpływają na funkcjonalność i komfort ich miejsca zamieszkania.
In the article, the authors consider one of the aspects of sustainable construction - the social aspect. Among the social aspects, in accordance with PN-EN 16309 + A1: 2014-12 were listed the following utility properties of the building: accessibility, adaptability, comfort and health, neighborhood, maintenance, safety and security. The authors conducted a survey among the residents of Krakow districts. In the questionnaire were more detailed questions about the utility properties of buildings. Badania miały na celu ustalić jak użytkownicy oceniają istotność badanych cech, które wpływają na funkcjonalność i komfort ich miejsca zamieszkania. The study had be aimed at specify how users rate the importance of the studied traits that affect on the functionality and comfort of their domicile.

The effect of the brewing and milling byproducts containing in the lambs diet on body weight growth, slaughter value and meat quality. The aim of the study was to evaluate the growth rate, slaughter value and meat quality characteristics of lambs fed of fresh brewer’s grain and by-product of the milling industry. Research was conducted on 45 Polish merino ram lambs, which were divided into three feeding groups and fattened to their slaughter weight of 40 kg (±2.0 kg). Lambs in control group were fed meadow hay, oat meal and steamed potatoes. In one of experimental group (WBG group) 35% of wet brewer’s grain was added to the feed. The second experimental group (BPM group) received 44% of by-product of the milling industry in the form of crushed grains of various cereal species. The obtained results indicated that the by-products of the brewing and milling industry used in nutrition on fattened lambs did not negatively affect the body weight growth and slaughter value. The application of these components also did not affect the quality of meat in respect to its chemical composition and physical characteristics. The brewer’s grain share in the ration increased the content important for human health monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids and the isomer C18:2 cis9, trans11 (CLA).
