Opis:
The goal of this paper is to show the place the SMU GROM holds within the national security system. It provides a few remarks related to the tasks and capabilities of the Unit in relation to the missions of the Polish armed forces. In the author’s opinion, this approach to the subject offers, in general terms, possibly the clearest picture of how important the SMU GROM is for the security of the state and its people, especially outside the country. The analysis has been based on source materials, subject literature, and observations conducted by the author. This approach allows to answer the key research question: what is the place of SMU GROM in the national security system of the Republic of Poland, and, in more detail, how its tasks and activities fit into the missions of the Polish Armed Forces.
Niniejszy tekst ma na celu ukazanie miejsca JW GROM w systemie bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Zawarte zostały w nim uwagi związane z zadaniami i zdolnościami posiadanymi przez Jednostkę w odniesieniu do misji sił zbrojnych RP. W ocenie autora takie podejście do tematu daje, w ogólnym ujęciu, najbardziej czytelny obraz, jak ważnym elementem dla bezpieczeństwa państwa i jego obywateli, szczególnie poza granicami kraju, jest JW GROM. Analiza została oparta na materiałach źródłowych, literaturze przedmiotu oraz obserwacji prowadzonej przez autora. Pozwoliło to odpowiedzieć na kluczowe pytanie: jakie jest miejsce JW GROM w systemie bezpieczeństwa narodowego RP? Szczegółowo zaś – jak jej zadania i działania wpisują się w misję Sił Zbrojnych RP.

Opis:
The article is an attempt to indicate the role that can be played by the Special Operations Forces operating in post-conflict areas. The specificity of this kind of forces imposes a different definition of the area understood as a post-conflict area. Special Operations Forces appear in the theater of war far before the appearance of the visible symptoms of conflict and they are usually the last ones to leave the place. The text is a synthesis of a few available materials, available knowledge (unclassified solely) and the author’s own comments on the tasks facing the Special Operations Forces in the course of conducting operations in the described, specifically dedicated environment.
W artykule podjęto próbę przedstawienia roli, jaką odegrać mogą siły specjalne operujące na obszarach pokonfliktowych. Specyfika tego rodzaju sił narzuca odmienne definiowanie takiego obszaru. Wojska Specjalne pojawiają się bowiem na teatrze działań dużo wcześniej, przed wystąpieniem widocznych symptomów konfliktu, i opuszczają go zazwyczaj jako ostatnie. Tekst jest syntezą dostępnych nielicznych materiałów, dostępnej wiedzy (wyłącznie jawnej) oraz uwag własnych autora co do zadań stojących przed Wojskami Specjalnymi w ramach prowadzenia operacji w opisywanym specyficznym środowisku.

Celem przedstawionego artykułu jest syntetyczne ujęcie opisywanego tematu. Należy nadmienić, że ze względu na niejawny charakter informacji, przedstawiono tylko niektóre aspekty związane z rozwojem wojsk specjalnych, jako efektu podejmowanych decyzji politycznych. Intencją autora było jednak zebranie najważniejszych faktów i aspektów. Proces rozwijania zdolności wojsk specjalnych wciąż trwa i na chwilę obecną można stosunkowo łatwo, analizując stosunki międzynarodowe, wskazać potencjalne kierunki ich rozwoju.
The aim of the presented text is the synthetic approach to the described topic. It should be noted that due the classified nature of information, only some aspects of the special forces development as a result of political decisions, were presented. However, the author’s intention was to collect and describe the most important facts and aspects. The process of development of the abilities of special forces is still going on, and at this moment, by analyzing international relations, it is relatively easy to identify the potential directions of their development.

The interest of modern business ethics in the thought of St. Thomas is well-known, as evidenced by the publications of such authors as D. Mele, P. Santori, M. Hirschfeld, exposing the topics of the market, trade, but also the moral qualifications of the business leader. In a special way, Aquinas has become present in various theories of leadership, cited for his aretalogy. Numerous studies focus on the indicated virtues of a leader, especially concerning the relationship to risk (such as prudence), but also perseverance in the pursuit of good (such as longanimity). Many contemporary MBA courses draw implicitly on the Thomistic heritage, although an increasing number of authors have recently pointed explicitly to this philosophical and theological background. The imitation of God, the supreme call of the moral life according to Aquinas, also applies to the sphere of leadership, the management of the multitude, which draws from the treatise "on the government of God" in the Summa of Theology. St. Thomas is also the inspiration for textbooks on leadership in the church, and by both Protestants and Catholics, making Him a "universal doctor" in this dimension as well. 
Zainteresowanie współczesnej etyki biznesu myślą św. Tomasza jest powszechnie znane, o czym świadczą publikacje takich autorów, jak D. Mele, P. Santori, M. Hirschfeld, eksponujące tematykę rynku, handlu, ale także kwalifikacji moralnych lidera biznesu. W szczególny sposób Akwinata stał się obecny w różnych teoriach przywództwa, cytowanych ze względu na jego aretologię. Liczne badania koncentrują się na cnotach lidera, w szczególności dotyczących stosunku do ryzyka (np. roztropność), ale także wytrwałości w dążeniu do dobra (np. długomyślność). Wiele współczesnych kursów MBA czerpie pośrednio z dziedzictwa tomistycznego, choć coraz większa liczba autorów wskazuje ostatnio wyraźnie na to filozoficzne i teologiczne tło. Naśladowanie Boga, najwyższe wezwanie życia moralnego według Akwinaty, odnosi się również do sfery przywództwa, które czerpie z traktatu “o rządach Bożych” w Summie teologii. W ten sposób św. Tomasz staje się również inspiracją dla podręczników dotyczących przywództwa w Kościele, zarówno dla protestantów, jak i katolików, co czyni go “uniwersalnym doktorem” również w tym wymiarze.

The investigation covered 81 families: 48 families of divorced women and 33 families of widows. The most important factors threatening the educational efficiency of the family are: lack of mother's help with homework, mother's lack of professional qualifications, lack of interest on the part of household members, mother's poor health, father's destructive behaviour during his residence with the family, income below the social minimum, no household duties assigned to children. There are of course differences between the two types of single parent families. In widows' families the image of the father is much more favourable than in the families of divorced women. The former also show stronger bonds between the mother and the children and enjoy better living conditions. The correlation coefficients calculated for the various phenomena, properties of the family environment and the level of danger to educational efficiency are the highest for: mother's knowledge of the child's progress at school and leisure activities; possession of educational equipment; availability of space for study; conversations; family's interest in the child. The second strongest group of correlations comprises: reading magazines; children's duties in the household; joint activities; duration of marriage; mother's education. We can thous conclude that the significant factors are those that concern immediate attitudes to the child and his needs and those that saturate the environment with values.

Research background: Studies of the structures of the income distributions have been performed for about 15 years. They indicate that there is no model which describes the distributions in their whole range. This effect is explained by the existence of different mechanisms yielding to low-medium and high incomes. While more than 97% of the distributions can be described by exponential or log-normal models, high incomes (about 3% or less) are in agreement with the power law. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is an analysis of the structure of the household income distributions in Poland. We verify the hypothesis about two-part structure of those distributions by using log-normal and Pareto models. Methods: The studies are based on the households? budgets microdata for years 2004?2012. The two-component models are used to describe the income distributions. The major parts of the distributions are described by the two parametric log-normal model. The highest incomes are described by the Pareto model. We also investigate the agreement with data of the more complex models, like Dagum, and Singh-Madalla. Findings & Value added: One has showed that two or three parametric models explain from about 95% to more than 99% of income distributions. The poorest agreement with data is for the log-normal model, while the best agreement has been obtained for the Dagum model. However, two-part model: log-normal for low-middle incomes and Pareto model for the highest incomes describes almost the whole range of income distributions very well.
