Opis:
Small municipalities, rural and urban, constitute a quarter of the total number of municipalities in Poland, and they are inhabited by about 6 percent of the inhabitants of the country. Similarly to larger units, they have a broad range of competencies, comprising their own tasks – aimed at satisfying the collective needs of the community, as well as commissioned tasks – related to the government administration, including the organisation, preparation and holding elections and referendums. Irrespectively of their size, all municipalities are obliged to realise public tasks. For NIK, the inspiration for this audit have been the analyses which show that small municipalities deal with numerous problems affecting their development opportunities and, consequently, affecting the lives of their inhabitants.

We construct a family of spaces with "nice" structure which is universal in the class of all compact metrizable spaces of large transfinite dimension $ω_0$, or, equivalently, of small transfinite dimension $ω_0$; that is, the family consists of compact metrizable spaces whose transfinite dimension is $ω_0$, and every compact metrizable space with transfinite dimension $ω_0$ is embeddable in a space of the family. We show that the least possible cardinality of such a universal family is equal to the least possible cardinality of a dominating sequence of irrational numbers.

For every countable non-limit ordinal α we construct an α-dimensional Cantor ind-manifold, i.e., a compact metrizable space $Z_α$ such that $ind Z_α = α$, and no closed subset L of $Z_α$ with ind L less than the predecessor of α is a partition in $Z_α$. An α-dimensional Cantor Ind-manifold can be constructed similarly.

R. Pol has shown that for every countable ordinal α, there exists a universal space for separable metrizable spaces X with ind X = α . We prove that for every countable limit ordinal λ, there is no universal space for separable metrizable spaces X with Ind X = λ. This implies that there is no universal space for compact metrizable spaces X with Ind X = λ. We also prove that there is no universal space for compact metrizable spaces X with ind X = λ.

Opis:
Diverse forms of environmental pollution arise with the introduction of materials or energy that exert adverse effects on human health, climate patterns, ecosystems, and beyond. Rigorous emission regulations for gases resulting from fuel combustion are being enforced by the European Union and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), directed at maritime sectors to mitigate emissions of SOx, NOx, and CO2. The IMO envisions the realisation of its 2050 targets through a suite of strategies encompassing deliberate reductions in vessel speed, enhanced ship operations, improved propulsion systems, and a transition towards low and zero-emission fuels such as LNG, methanol, hydrogen, and ammonia. While the majority of vessels currently depend on heavy fuel or low-sulphur fuel oil, novel designs integrating alternative fuels are gaining prominence. Technologies like exhaust gas purification systems, LNG, and methanol are being embraced to achieve minimised emissions. This study introduces the concept of a high-power combined ship system, composed of a primary main engine, a diesel engine, and a steam turbine system, harnessing the energy contained within the flue gases of the main combustion engine. Assumptions, constraints for calculations, and a thermodynamic evaluation of the combined cycle are outlined. Additionally, the study scrutinises the utilisation of alternative fuels for ship propulsion and their potential to curtail exhaust emissions, with a specific focus on reducing CO2 output.

Mesodermal mixed malignant tumours (MMMT) are the rare neoplasms of postmenopausal women, with extremely poor prognosis. They constitute about 1-2% of all gynaecological malignancies and about 2-5% of uterine corpus malignancies. Due to rare frequency, the exact knowledge about their characteristics is difficult. Therefore, the treatment is based on the treatment methods used in endometrial cancer. For most authors, because of their clinical course, they are treated as more aggressive endometrial carcinomas. In the literature, there were described a lot of cases of endometrial cancer and MMMT development after the chronic therapy with tamoxifen, due to breast cancer, but rare data suggest the possibility of coexistence of the two above neoplasms, without the previous therapy with tamoxifen. In this paper, we present the case of woman, aged 78, with tumour mixtus mesodermalis malignus corporis uteri, coexistent with breast cancer, and unilateral lymph nodes metastases, coming from the uterine tumour, with no previous therapy. In the literature we did not meet any case of breast cancer, coexistent with MMMT with the axillary lymph node metastases of MMMT component.
Złośliwe mieszane guzy mezodermalne (MMMT) macicy to rzadkie nowotwory o bardzo agresywnym przebiegu, występujące u kobiet w wieku pomenopauzalnym. Stanowią 1-2% wszystkich nowotworów narządów płciowych kobiecych i 2-5% nowotworów trzonu macicy. Ze względu na niezbyt częste występowanie dokładne poznanie charakterystyki tych nowotworów jest utrudnione. Wobec powyższego, sposób postępowania jest oparty na schematach postępowania w raku trzonu macicy. Przez większość autorów, z uwagi na przebieg kliniczny, są one traktowane jako raki endometrium o agresywniejszym przebiegu. W piśmiennictwie opisano wiele przypadków występowania raka endometrium, jak również MMMT po przewlekłej terapii tamoksyfenem z powodu raka piersi, natomiast nieliczne dane wskazują na możliwość współwystępowania obu nowotworów bez uprzedniej terapii. W pracy przedstawiono przypadek 78-letniej kobiety, u której stwierdzono guza złośliwego mieszanego mezodermalnego trzonu macicy oraz raka piersi z jednoczesnym występowaniem przerzutów do węzłów chłonnych po stronie zdiagnozowanego raka piersi, pochodzących z guza macicy. Nie spotkano natomiast opisu przypadku współwystępowania MMMT i raka piersi z przerzutami MMMT do pachowych węzłów chłonnych.
