The present study investigated the effect of surface roughness on plasma assisted nitriding (PAN) process kinetics of Ni-base alloys. Two model alloys, namely Ni-10Cr and Ni-14Cr-4Al (wt.%) and commercial Rene 80, were examined. To elucidate the effect of surface roughness on nitriding kinetics, three methods of surface preparation were used, (1) polishing up with 1 μm diamond suspension, (2) grinding up to 220 grit sand-paper, and (3) grit blasting. The samples from each type of material were nitrided under the same conditions and investigated after processing. It was found that increase in roughness results in decreasing nitriding kinetics. The decrease of nitriding kinetics depends on alloy chemical composition, namely more complex chemistry resulted in smaller decrease of kinetics. Moreover, grit-blasting was found to be an improper method for surface preparation for PAN. The responsible mechanism for the effect of surface roughness on PAN kinetics of Ni-base alloys was proposed.

In the present work, an effect of plasma-forming parameters on light emission during analysis by glow discharge optical emission spectrometry of Ni–Cu model alloys is studied. To evaluate the effects of plasma-forming parameters on light emission, argon pressure was varied in the range between 600 Pa and 1000 Pa under a constant power of 20 W. Moreover, a variation of power at 20 W and 30 W under a constant Ar pressure of 1000 Pa was investigated. An effect of the element content on light emission was found. Namely, for Cu, a monotonic, non-linear increase in measured light intensity with an increasing Cu content was found. Surprisingly, for pure Ni, a lower light intensity was measured as for Ni90–Cu10 (at.%). Possible reasons causing this was listed as: (i) possible effect of hydrogen, (ii) overlapping of lines for Cu and Ni and (iii) self-absorbing of Ni line at 341.574 nm.

The pyrochlores are the promising low-thermal conductive materials for Thermal Barrier Coatings applications. In present work the concept of pyrochlore formation during APS spraying of ZrO2 and ReO was analyzed. The specially prepared agglomerated mixtures of ZrO2 with Nd2O3, Yb2O3, Er2O3 and Gd2O3 oxides were plasma sprayed using A60 plasma torch on NiCoCrAlY-type bond coat. The influence of plasma gasses composition on coatings’ microstructure was investigated. The results of XRD phase analysis proved formation of pyrochlores from Gd2O3 +ZrO2 and Nd2O3+ZrO2 mixtures. The formation of Er4O12Zr3 from Er2O3+ ZrO2 mixture as well as Zr3Yb4 from Yb2O3+ ZrO2 powder was detected. The presence of pure rare earth oxides (REO) and zirconia oxides was observed in all types of sprayed coatings. The microstructural assessment showed differences in porosity and thickness of obtained ceramic coatings depending of type of REO oxides. The analysis of results showed that it is possible to obtain pyrochlore ceramic coatings from pure oxides mixture. The plasma energy was not efficient for full formation of pyrochlores, therefore the presence of pure oxides was observed.

Purpose: The article attempts to show that the effective marketing is a key condition for achieving large profits in mobile app development. Design/methodology/approach: Promising IT projects can, very often, end in a disaster if people do not choose the right strategy of sales. There are many promotional activities available as well. This study investigates different types of business models that are currently used in the marketing of mobile applications. Findings: Different types of business models will be compared with their effectiveness and popularity. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of different strategies will be reviewed. Moreover, aspects, which influence the final revenue from the application, will also be shown. Originality/value: The entire discussion and the selection of the best strategy will be summarized.
