From the aerial parts of Zoegea leptaurea subsp. mesopotamica (Czerep.) Rech. (syn Zoegea mesopotamica Czerep.), 9α-hydroxyparthenolide was isolated. This compound was identified by spectral methods (1H NMR and 13C NMR). This research confirmed earlier indications about the presence of 4,5-epoxygermacranolides in the Zoegea L. genus. Thus, distinctive chemistry feature of plants in this taxon has chemotaxonomic implications.
Z ziela Zoegea leptaurea subsp. mesopotamica (Czerep.) Rech. (syn Zoegea mesopotamica Czerep.) wyizolowano 9α-hydroksypartenolid. Związek ten zidentyfikowano za pomocą analiz spektralnych (1H NMR i 13C NMR). Potwierdzono tym samym wcześniejsze doniesienia o występowaniu 4,5-epoksygermakranolidów w rodzaju Zoegea L. Uzyskane dane mają walor chemotaksonomiczny.

In the seasons 2004 and 2006, interdisciplinary researches at the settlement of the early phase of Eastern Linear Pottery Culture at Moravany were continued. Archaeological excavations have limited spatial dimension compared to previous seasons, as a priority in the years 2004-2006 was the completion of the palaeoeconomic, paleoenvironmental and chronological analyses. I.a. 14 new radiocarbon dates were obtained. In conjunction with the absolute dates obtained previously and with typological evidence it gives rise to dating of the settlement for a period between about 5500 and 5300/5200 BC.

Among the numerous protocols that describe the extraction of DNA, those relating to the isolation of DNA from infected plants, are rare. This study describes a rapid and reliable method of extracting a high quality and quantity of DNA from rhododendron leaves artificially infected with Phytophthora cactorum, P. cambivora, P. cinnamomi, P. citrophthora, and P. plurivora. The use of the modified Doyle and Doyle protocol (1987) allowed us to obtain high quantity and quality DNA (18.26 μg from 100 mg of the fresh weight of infected leaves at the ratios of A260/280 and A260/230 – 1.83 and 1.72, respectively), suitable for conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and real-time PCR amplifications.

Opis:
The main motivation of this paper was to develop acoustical techniques to monitor underwater meadows. The data, collected with down-looking echo sounder, were used to develop method of bottom detection and tracking and measurement of vegetation canopy height in the Puck Bay. This method and its accuracy are discussed in details. The other possibilities of recognition between covered and uncovered bottom were also reviewed. The effectiveness of using side scan sonar in study vegetation spatial distribution is demonstrated.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób adaptacji metody funkcji kary do algorytmu genetycznego. Rozwiązując zadanie optymalizacji przy wykorzystaniu algorytmu genetycznego, wartość przystosowania musi być dodatnia i podlega maksymalizacji. W przypadku uwzględnienia ograniczeń z wykorzystaniem funkcji kary zewnętrznej, wartości kary mogą przekroczyć wartości pierwotnej funkcji celu. Do rozwiązania tego problemu wykorzystano transformację sigmoidalną. Opracowano oprogramowanie komputerowe w środowisku programistycznym Delphi. Poprawność algorytmu i oprogramowania testowano rozwiązując dwa zadania optymalizacji z ograniczeniami. Przeprowadzono optymalizację aktuatora elektromagnetycznego. Model matematyczny urządzenia zawiera równania pola elektromagnetycznego z uwzględnieniem nieliniowości materiałów ferromagnetycznych. Przedstawiono i omówiono wybrane wyniki obliczeń symulacyjnych.
In the paper the method of adaptation of the penalty function method to the genetic algorithm is presented. During solving the optimization task using the genetic algorithm, the adaptation value must be positive. In case of application of external penalty function, the penalty term may exceed the value of the primary objective function. The sigmoidal transformation was used to solve this problem. The computer software has been developed in the Delphi environment. The correctness of the algorithm and software was tested by solving two optimization problems with nonlinear constraints. Optimization of the electromagnetic actuator has been performed. The mathematical model of the devices contains equations of the electromagnetic field taking into account the nonlinearity of ferromagnetic materials. The selected results of the optimization were presented and discussed.

Nanostructures created by living organisms, optimized through millions of years of evolution, can be a valuable inspiration for nanotechnology. We employ atomic force microscopy to examine such structures in materials created by common organisms - caddisfly and diatoms. Caddisfly larvae are well known for their ability to spin silk, which serves as an "adhesive tape" to glue various materials and collect food in aqueous environment. Atomic force microscopy imaging of caddisfly silk, performed for the first time by our team, has shown that its surface is patterned with 150 nm extensions - a feature related to its exceptional underwater sticking abilities. Results of force spectroscopy of protein structures found on the surface are also shown. A characteristic feature of diatoms is that they are encased within a unique silica cell wall called frustules, patterned with 200 nm pores, which allow cellular interaction with the environment. We perform atomic force microscopy imaging of frustules in living diatoms as well as adhesion measurements inside pores.

The paper deals with the original methodics of the computation of the energy-saving traffic of tram vehicles with the modern field-oriented control of traction three-phase induction squirrel-cage motors. Possibility of occurrence of various traffic perturbations is here taken into account. After ending disturbances of the city traffic, algorithms of tram rides take into account the procedure of traffic-delay liquidation in accordance with the criterion of the minimum energy use. During the vehicle running with the constant speed, the load of traction induction motors is relatively small; in this case the proper choice of the lower supply voltage enables to increase the motor efficiency. At large time lags in traffic of tram vehicles, ride delays must be liquidated during the run between some succeeding stops within the framework of the optimization procedure.

At a molecular level, the length of the vernalization period of common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is determined mainly by three loci: VRN-1, VRN-2 and VRN-3. In hexaploid wheat, the Vrn-A1, Vrn-B1 and Vrn-D1 genes are dominant for spring growth habit and epistatic to the alleles for winter growth habit. We used DNA markers to determine the VRN-1 genotypes of 43 common wheat cultivars from the Polish register. All of the 30 examined winter wheat cultivars carried the recessive vrn-A1 allele, and all of the 13 analyzed spring cultivars carried the dominant Vrn-A1a allele. Moreover, 13 winter and 11 spring cultivars carried the dominant Vrn-B1 allele. These results confirmed that the hexaploid wheat growth habit is determined mainly by the VRN-A1 locus.

The aim of the research was to find out the time reaction in a jump after a sound and visual stimulus. Another aim was to define the power of legs among the hockey field players during the pre-season and start season. The result of the hockey field players’ from AZS AWF Poznań and the Polish National Team were the subject of the research, which was carried out twice by the system of optical research – Opto-jump. The somatic and fat measurements were made. The results of the selected group (Polish National Men’s Team) may give the vision of the model of the players their power of the legs, the reaction time at a sound and visual stimulus. Thanks to these results we can compare them with the league team and follow the changes of the parameters level during the training season. In conclusion the training season didn’t have any essential influence on the measured parameters. The Polish Representation results were at far higher level than the league team. We can confirm that the level of the measured features don’t change in a training year.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące rozwiązań numerycznych punktowego modelu ułamkowego rzędu kinetyki neutronów oraz wymiany ciepła w reaktorze jądrowym. Zbudowano model ułamkowego rzędu z sześcioma grupami neutronów opóźnionych wraz równaniami wymiany ciepła. Model matematyczny został zaimplementowany w środowisku Matlab i zbadany symulacyjnie dla skoków reaktywności. Przeprowadzono analizę wpływu wybranych parametrów modelu na uzyskiwane rozwiązania.
The paper presents the results concerning numerical solutions of the fractional point kinetics and heat exchange model for nuclear reactor. The fractional neutron point kinetics model with six groups of delayed neutron precursors was developed and numerical solutions were proposed. Mathematical model has been implemented in the Matlab environment and tested using typical step input change. The analysis of the impact of chosen parameters was conducted.

A clue for the research have become analysis made by A. Feruś in 2006, In which the author points the possibility of extending classical scoring models with the DEA method, allowing to predict a credit risk. In 2006, in the era of the Basel II implementation, the possibility of such an extension was not reflected in the practice of banks in Poland. But now, as a part of the Basel III implementation, it is reasonable to consider the possibility of their expantion, for example using the DEA . The study was carried out on the basis of 139 companies operating in Poland in 2010-2011 data and a comparison with their actual condition in 2012. Survey results both for 2010 and 2011 indicate a weaker prediction of the scoring models alone than scoring models with DEA In terms of: correct customers classification and the value of a R2 determination factor.
