Opis:
W artykule, po krótkim przedstawieniu osoby Jakuba z Kowalewic oraz jego kodeksu znajdującego się w zbiorach Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Poznaniu, zostały zaprezentowane badania nad tzw. Psałterzem św. Hieronima, zawartym w tym właśnie kodeksie. Podjęto też próby znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące autorstwa, przeznaczenia oraz źródła pochodzenia tego tekstu. Autor omówił jego zawartość oraz porównał go z innym znanym w Polsce Psałterzem św. Hieronima (psalterium abbreviatum) z modlitewnika Zygmunta I.
Following the brief presentation of the author Jakub of Kowalewice and his codex currently held in the collections of Poznań University Library, the present state of the research on the text included in the codex, the so-called St. Jerome psalter is discussed. An attempt is made to resolve the issues on its authorship, intended use and the source of origin of the text in the codex. Its content is discussed and then compared with another well-known version of the St. Jerome psalter (psalterium abbreviatum) in the King Sigismond’s I prayer book.

Nowadays people are more and more concerned about the future and the end of the world. The vision of the End of Times in Joachim of Fiore’s apocalyptic conception presents one of the most interesting interpretations of the end of the world in relation to events and historical figures and presents an attempt to look into the future made by the 12th-century Calabyan Abbot Joachim of Fiore on the basis of the book of the Holy Bible, especially the Apocalypse of Saint John. The purpos of the thesis is to introduce the reader to the very form of the medieval exeget – Joachim of Fiore as well as the concept of tripartite and interpretation of history in the Trinitarian context created by him. In the light of the concept mentioned above, the vision of the Calabyan Abbot was presented regarding the end of times, preceded by an explanation of exegetical methods used by the abbot (especially biblical typology and the principle of compatibility of both Testaments in relation to the entire history of the Chosen People and Christianity). The thesis also presents a comparison of the convergent historiosophic concepts of Joachim of Fiore and Saint Augustine of Hippo. The thesis contains both Latin fragments of Joachim’s manuscripts and translations of them into Polish. Annex show translated testament of Joachim of Fiore, proving his faithfulness to the authority of the Catholic Church.

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę treściową mappae mundi zawartej w kodeksie Jakuba z Kowalewic (BUP Rkp. 1746),  próbę odpowiedzi na pytania o proweniencję wpisanego w  nią tekstu i jej autora oraz orientacyjne określenie czasu jej powstania. Ponadto poddano analizie listy prowincji  wpisane zarówno w mapy typu T-O, jak i te zmieszczone  poza nimi, w zebranych kodeksach zawierających analogiczny tekst do tego z poznańskiego kodeksu,  pochodzący pierwotnie z IX-wiecznego dzieła autorstwa Nenniusza pt. Historia Brittonum. Artykuł prezentuje wyniki poszukiwania w polskich zbiorach map typu T-O, które  mogły być wzorem dla mapy znajdującej się w kodeksie Jakuba z Kowalewic. Podjęto również próbę analizy  treściowej listy prowincji wpisanej w mapę oraz wskazania różnic i cech wspólnych w znalezionych mapach i  egzemplarzu w kodeksie Rkp. 1746.
The present article provides a content analysis of the mappa mundi (world map) in the code compiled by Jakub of Kowalewice (BUP MS. 1746) and attempts to establish the provenance of the text that had been contained in the codex, its authorship, and the approximate date of its origin. Furthermore, the article analyses the list of provinces that had been labelled and inscribed into the diagrammatic world maps (mappae mundi) based on the T-O diagram, which depicted the three known continents as a T contained in a circle, and those included outside the map form in a group of codices that include parallel texts to that of the Poznan codex (that originally came from the ninth century work by Nennius – Historia Brittonum). Finally, the results of the query for the maps using the T-O type in Polish collections that could have provided the model (pattern) for the map included in the codex by Jakub of Kowalewice are presented. An attempt is also made to perform a content analysis of the list of provinces inscribed into the map and to indicate the differences and common features between the maps found in the query and the copy in MS 1746.

The paper presents result of combustion stability assessment of dual fuel engine. The authors analyzed results of co-combustion of diesel fuel with alcohol in terms of combustion stability. The comparative analysis of both the operational parameters of the engine and the IMEP, as the parameters determining the stability of the combustion process, were carried out. It was analyzed, among others values of the COVIMEP coefficient, the spread of the maximum pressure value, the angle of the position of maximum pressure and the probability density distribution of the IMEP. The experimental investigation was conducted on 1-cylinder air cooled compression ignition engine. The test engine operated with constant rpm equal to 1500 rpm and constant angle of start of diesel fuel injection. The engine was operated with ethanol up to 50% of its energy fraction. The influence of ethanol on ignition delay time spread and end of combustion process was evaluated. It turns out that the share of ethanol does not adversely affect the stability of ignition.

In modern narratives, the island of Spinalonga appears an attractive tourist destination with an interesting and enigmatic history. In fact, Spinalonga is a memory space, encumbered with past political decisions and medical negligence. This is the story of the great confinement, the isolation of the sick who were symbolically killed. Meanwhile, the photos shared on Instagram show the island in a completely different light. The article seeks to answer the following questions: Does the behavior of Instagram users disrupt the culture of memory and how do these photos (digital representations of memory) influence the image of the island? To this end, I outline the history of the island in the context of exclusion mechanisms for those with Hansen's disease. I discuss the issues of dark tourism, social photo and desemantization of communication. I juxtapose the whole thing with the examples of photos from Spinalonga published on Instagram in 2022.

Who (and what) was silent about the story told by heteronormative society? And how is the fragment of this story seen by “Others”? The article shows that the time of “queer before gay” includes (in Polish) not only well-known names such as: aunt or pedal, but also slang: ‘lala’ (doll), ‘przyjaciółki’ (friends), ‘siostry’ (sisters in Polish, girls in English), gays “from the outside of society”, as well as heterosexuals who got a ticket to the alternative world of the excluded. I tell this story from the perspective of the performative function of language (Althusser, Austin, Butler) and mechanisms of knowledge/power (Foucault). I focus on the activities of homosexual men encoded in their “hiding language” (sociopolitan gay). I show how the creation of the “homosexual” identity closed the community of aunts and pedals in a precisely defined form. And how camp and queering reality allowed them to function in this form. This article is thus another element of decoding the so-called language of concealment, so-called sociolect of Polish gays (aunts and pedals) and queering history of Poland (part of the queering history of Central and Eastern Europe).

The article is a contribution to research on the sociolect of Polish gays and the lexis of homosexuality. In it, a comparison is made between selected Polish terms for homosexual men (ciota and ciepły) with semantically equivalent terms in some European languages English, German, French, Italian, Czech, Slovak, and Slovene. By studying relationships between the lexemes and their derivatives, with account being taken of the aspects of (covertly developing) culture, a network of links between these units is revealed. This illustrates the idea of (a degree of) linguistic unification of the gay community regardless of nationality.
W artykule (stanowiącym przyczynek do badań socjolektu polskich gejów i słownictwa z pola leksykalnego homoseksualności) autor porównuje wybrane w języku polskim nazwy mężczyzn o homoseksualnej orientacji (ciota i ciepły) z tożsamymi semantycznie nazwami w wybranych językach indoeuropejskich, tj. angielskim, niemieckim, francuskim, włoskim, czeskim, słowackim i słoweńskim. Badając relacje między wskazanymi wyżej leksemami wraz z ich derywatami, przy jednoczesnym uwzględnieniu wpływających nań elementów (kształtującej się w ukryciu) kultury, autor pokazuje zachodzące między nimi wzajemne powiązania, potwierdzające pewien stopień językowej unifikacji społeczności gejów niezależnie od ich narodowości.

Introduction: Bevacizumab is an antiangiogenic drug used in the therapy of numerous solid tumours including colorectal adenocarcinoma. The efficacy and safety of bevacizumab has been demonstrated in many multicenter clinical trials. The scope of this paper is to analyze the safety profile of bevacizumab in patients with stage IV colorectal cancer. Aim of the study: Analysis of toxicity and safety of the treatment with bevacizumab patients with colorectal cancer in the metastatic stage. Material and methods: Retrospective analysis of medical records of 42 patients with advanced colorectal cancer treated in the Department of Systemic and Generalized Malignancies, Maria Skłodowska-Curie Memorial Institute of Oncology, Kraków Branch, in the period 2007–2014. Results: The median time of treatment with bevacizumab was 6 months. The median duration of progression-free survival (PFS) was 8.5 months. Toxicity of treatment with bevacizumab affected 43 percent of patients. The most common adverse events observed was hypertension and bleeding. In 6 patients (14.3%) the treatment with bevacizumab was interrupted due to adverse events (thromboembolic events, bleeding and gastrointestinal perforation). Conclusions: Bevacizumab is a safe therapeutic option in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, provided that patients are provided close oncological and general medical monitoring.

Artykuł znacznie poszerza dotychczasowy stan wiedzy na temat dziejów parafii pw. św. Jana Chrzciciela w Trzciance przed 1945 rokiem. Ustalono, że z pewnością istniała ona już na początku XVII wieku, a możliwe, że powstała jeszcze w wieku XVI. Do drugiej połowy XVIII wieku funkcjonowała jako parafia pw. Trójcy Świętej, następnie zmieniono jej wezwanie na obecne. Przez ponad trzy wieki kościoły i zabudowania parafialne kilkakrotnie padały ofiarą pożarów i były odbudowywane. Pierwsze dwie świątynie (sprzed 1628 r. i 1717 r.) były drewniane, dwie kolejne (1835 r. i 1917 r.) murowane. Parafia wielokrotnie zmieniała również państwową i kościelną przynależność administracyjną. Najstarsze zachowane księgi parafialne pochodzą z 1730 r. i przechowywane są w Archiwum Diecezji Koszalińsko-Kołobrzeskiej w Koszalinie. Dzięki kwerendzie w siedemnasto- i osiemnastowiecznych aktach wizytacji parafialnych z Archiwum Archidiecezjalnego w Poznaniu częściowo udało się odtworzyć informacje na temat niezachowanych ksiąg parafialnych, które mogły spłonąć w pożarze plebanii w Trzciance w 1730 r. Kwerenda w archiwach państwowych pozwoliła także na ustalenie miejsc przechowywania duplikatów trzcianeckich ksiąg metrykalnych pochodzących z XIX w.
The article broadens the current knowledge about the history of the parish of St John the Baptist in Trzcianka before 1945. It has been established that it certainly existed in the early 17th century and was possibly established as early as the 16th century. Until the second half of the 18th century, it operated as the Holy Trinity Parish, then its name was changed to the current one. Over more than three centuries, the churches and parish buildings fell victim to several fires and were rebuilt. The first two churches (before 1628 and 1717) were wooden, while the next two (1835 and 1917) were made of brick. The parish has also changed state and church administrative affiliations many times. The oldest preserved parish books date back to 1730 and are stored in the Archive of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg Diocese in Koszalin. By searching 17th- and 18th-century parish visitation records in the Archdiocesan Archives in Poznań, we were able to partially reconstruct information about unpreserved parish books that may have been burnt in the Trzcianka parsonage fire in 1730. The search in the state archives also made it possible to locate duplicates of the 19th-century record books of Trzcianka.

W artykule przedstawiono algorytm i oprogramowanie do optymalizacji urządzeń elektromagnetycznych. Procedury optymalizacyjne opracowano w środowisku programistycznym Borland Deplhi. Zastosowano algorytm szarych wilków. Poprawność opracowanego algorytmu badano rozwiązując dwa testowe zadania optymalizacji. Porównano wyniki uzyskane dla metod: (a) algorytmu szarych wilków i (b) metody roju cząstek. Wykazano, że algorytm szarych wilków jest bardziej uniwersalny i odporny na zakłócenia w zachowaniu lidera niż metoda roju cząstek. Przeprowadzono optymalizację układu wzbudzenia sześciobiegunowego silnika synchronicznego o rozruchu własnym.
The article presents an algorithm and computer software for optimization of electromagnetic devices. The gray wolf optimizer was applied as an optimization algorithm. Optimization procedure was developed in the Borland Delphi environment. The correctness of the algorithm was tested by solving two test optimization tasks. The course of the optimization process for two non-deterministic methods: gray wolf optimizer and particle swarm optimization have been compared. It has been pointed out that the gray wolf algorithm is more universal and resistant to disturbances in the behavior of the leader than the particle swarm algorithm. The optimization of the rotor of the six-poles linestart permanent magnet synchronous motor has been carried out.

Olimpiada Przedsiębiorczości jest jednym z najważniejszych wydarzeń edukacyjnych adresowanych do uczniów szkół średnich. Problematyka konkursu dotyczy zarówno ogólnych aspektów przedsiębiorczości, jak i zagadnień z zakresu marketingu, zarządzania, rynków kapitałowych czy etyki w biznesie. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest krytyczna ocena tematyki dotychczasowych czternastu edycji Olimpiady Przedsiębiorczości, dokonana w kontekście potrzeb edukacyjnych oraz wyzwań ekonomicznych, napotykanych przez młodych ludzi w dorosłym życiu. Analizie poddano m.in. założenia i programy poszczególnych edycji Olimpiady, wykazy obowiązującej literatury oraz zestawy pytań i zadań konkursowych. Na tej podstawie można stwierdzić, że problematyka konkursu obejmuje zarówno ważne i aktualne zagadnienia z zakresu przedsiębiorczości, jak i treści o ograniczonej przydatności dla uczestników. Autorzy postulują wyeliminowanie tego rodzaju zagadnień z przyszłych edycji Olimpiady, co powinno przyczynić się do zwiększenia zainteresowania młodzieży tą niewątpliwie interesującą i potrzebną inicjatywą edukacyjną.
The Entrepreneurship Olympiad is one of the most important educational events addressed to secondary school students. The topics of this contest concern both general aspects of entrepreneurship as well as a number of issues in the field of marketing, management, capital markets or business ethics. The purpose of this paper is to assess the topics of particular editions of the Entrepreneurship Olympiad. This assessment was made in the context of educational need and economics challenges encountered by young people in their adulthood. The analysis included programmes of each edition of the Olympiad, lists of recommended literature, as well as test questions and tasks for participants. On this basis, it can be concluded that the contest issues included both relevant and current problems in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as some content of limited usefulness for young people. The authors postulate to eliminate such content from the future editions of the Olympiad, which should lead to increased interest of potential participant in this interesting educational project.

The chemical composition of two commercially available lavender fragrance oils was determined and compared. The process of concentration by partial evaporation was carried out and its influence on changes in the content of individual components in the analysed mixtures was examined. The effect of poly(vinyl alcohol)-based polymer matrix on the release of volatile substances from oils was tested as well. The presence and chemical composition of the polymer matrix affects the relative content of volatile substances released from the liquid phase containing the tested fragrance composition.
Określono i porównano skład chemiczny dwóch handlowych olejków o zapachu lawendy. Przeprowadzono proces zatężania kompozycji zapachowych na drodze częściowego odparowania oraz zbadano jego wpływ na zmiany zawartości poszczególnych składników w analizowanych mieszaninach. Zbadano także wpływ osnowy polimerowej na bazie poli(alkoholu winylowego) na uwalnianie substancji z olejków. Stwierdzono, że obecność i skład chemiczny osnowy polimerowej wpływają na względną zawartość substancji lotnych uwalnianych z fazy ciekłej zawierającej badaną kompozycję zapachową.

The aim of the article was to measure the level of effectiveness of Management Control using a survey method among employees of educational institutions in selected aspects of management practice. The article discusses the basics of the Management Control System in the context of considering its effectiveness in shaping the quality of educational services. The basic understanding of Management Control in the public sector was presented and similarities and inspirations from management methods used in business practice were analysed. The next part of the article presents the results of research among employees of educational institutions in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. Conclusions from the research results concerned the perspective of the effectiveness of the Management Control System in public educational institutions.  The final conclusions discuss the weaknesses of Management Control and development elements constituting the basis for improving both the organizational aspects of educational institutions, as well as the level of human resources management.
