    Artykuł pokazuje jak ważna jest dla jakości życia osób starszych możliwość korzystania z oferty dziennych domów pomocy społecznej (ddps). Problem ten ukazano z perspektywy samych seniorów, kierownika takiej placówki oraz architekta – eksperta w dziedzinie projektowania budynków i wnętrz pod kątem ludzi starszych. W zestawieniu tych punktów widzenia wyraźna jest mentalność pozycyjna. W przypadku kierownika decyduje ona o jego postawach i wyobrażeniach o możliwości realizacji innowacji, proponowanych przez studentów architektury.
    The article shows how significant for the quality of life of elderly people is an opportunity to participate in the activities organized by day care centre. The issue has been presented from the viewpoints of seniors themselves, the head of the institution and an architect who is the expert in the field of interior and exterior design for the elderly. The comparison of these viewpoints reflects the differences in positional mentality. In case of the head this quality determines his attitudes and his ideas about the possibility of innovative changes proposed by the students of architecture.

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie elementów perspektywy socjologicznej, która zdaniem autora jest konieczna dla adekwatnego zrozumienia charakteru zjawisk wykluczenia osób starszych. Autor prezentując definicje i wymiary wykluczenia akcentuje, wzorując się na innych badaczach, niejednoznaczność przyczyn małego uczestnictwa seniorów w niektórych sferach życia społecznego. Pokazano tu elementy socjologicznego ujęcia problemów wyłączenia osób w wieku senioralnym (emerytalnym) ze sfery aktywności zawodowej oraz relacji społecznych w społeczności lokalnej. Refleksja dotyczy zarówno przyczyn takich zjawisk, jak i ich potencjalnych konsekwencji dla starszej osoby i społeczeństwa. W podsumowaniu tej refleksji sformułowano rekomendacje dla zmian niektórych instytucji i praktyk oddziałujących na ludzi w wieku starszym. Na tle tych nieodzownych zmian autor akcentuje potrzebę zastosowania metodologii badań jakościowych w wytyczaniu i ewaluacji dobrych praktyk.
    The aim of the article is to present some elements of sociological perspective, which is necessary to understand the character of social exclusion of the elderly. When presenting the definitions and dimensions of social exclusion the author accentuates following some other researchers the ambiguity of the reasons for a little participation of the elderly in some spheres of social life. Moreover some elements of sociological view on exclusion of older persons from professional activities and social relations in local community have been shown in the text. The reflection concerns reasons for such phenomena as well as their potential consequences for older person and the society. In summation of the reflection some recommendations for changes in some institutions and practices having impact on the elderly have been formulated. In the context of these proposed changes the author accentuates the need for application of the methodology of qualitative research when defining guidelines for good practices and evaluating them.

    In this paper, we establish variation of constant formulas for both Caputo and Riemann-Liouville fractional difference equations. The main technique is the Z-transform. As an application, we prove a lower bound on the separation between two different solutions of a class of nonlinear scalar fractional difference equations.

    Artykuł analizuje wyniki badań poglądów architektów na mechanizmy przekazu wiedzy fachowej w ich środowisku zawodowym. Mechanizmy te w świetle przeprowadzonych wywiadów obecnie wykazują, i powinny wykazywać również w przyszłości, podobieństwo do typów systemu transmisji międzygeneracyjnej scharakteryzowanych przez Margaret Mead. Respondenci omawianych w tekście badań akcentują potrzebę modyfikacji programu nauczania na studiach architektonicznych.
    The article shows the architects’ view on the mechanisms of the transfer of professional knowledge among them. These mechanisms according to the interviews conducted to some extent are and always should be similar to the types of systems of intergenerational transmission, described by Margaret Mead. The respondents of the research accentuate the need of changes in education of architects.

    In this paper the controllability problem for discrete-time linear switched systems is considered. The main goal is to find a control signal that steers any initial state to a given final state independently of the switching signal. In the paper, it is assumed that there are some constraints posed on the switching signal. Moreover, we present a necessary and sufficient conditions of some kinds of controllability. Three types of controllability, namely: from zero initial state to any final state, from any initial state to zero final state and from any initial state to any final state are considered. Finally, three illustrative examples are shown.

    The study of properties of switched and hybrid systems gives rise to a number of interesting and challenging mathematical problems. This paper aims to briefly survey recent results on stability and controllability of switched linear systems. First, the stability analysis for switched systems is reviewed. We focus on the stability analysis for switched linear systems under arbitrary switching, and we highlight necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability. After that, we review the controllability results.

    The main objective of this article is to present the state of the art concerning approximate controllability of dynamic systems in infinite-dimensional spaces. The presented investigation focuses on obtaining sufficient conditions for approximate controllability of various types of dynamic systems using Schauder’s fixed-point theorem. We describe the results of approximate controllability for nonlinear impulsive neutral fuzzy stochastic differential equations with nonlocal conditions, impulsive neutral functional evolution integro-differential systems, stochastic impulsive systems with control-dependent coefficients, nonlinear impulsive differential systems, and evolution systems with nonlocal conditions and semilinear evolution equation.

    In this paper we present a sufficient condition for continuity of Lyapunov exponents of discrete time-varying linear system. Basing on this result we show that Lyapunov exponents of time-invariant systems depend continuously on the time-varying perturbations.

    The main aim of this article is to review the existing state of art concerning the complete controllability of semilinear dynamical systems. The study focus on obtaining the sufficient conditions for the complete controllability for various systems using the Banach fixedpoint theorem. We describe the results for stochastic semilinear functional integro-differential system, stochastic partial differential equations with finite delays, semilinear functional equations, a stochastic semilinear system, a impulsive stochastic integro-differential system, semilinear stochastic impulsive systems, an impulsive neutral functional evolution integro-differential system and a nonlinear stochastic neutral impulsive system. Finally, two examples are presented.

    In this paper we study the dynamical behavior of linear discrete-time fractional systems. The first main result is that the norm of the difference of two different solutions of a time-varying discrete-time Caputo equation tends to zero not faster than polynomially. The second main result is a complete description of the decay to zero of the trajectories of one-dimensional time-invariant stable Caputo and Riemann-Liouville equations. Moreover, we present Volterra convolution equations, that are equivalent to Caputo and Riemann-Liouvile equations and we also show an explicit formula for the solution of systems of time-invariant Caputo equations.

    Artykuł pokazuje adaptację do pobytu w domu pomocy społecznej (dps) jako zjawisko indywidualne, którego tłem są w dużej mierze dotychczasowe doświadczenia życiowe seniorów. Badania przeprowadzono techniką wywiadu narracyjnego z mieszkańcami jednego z dps-ów w Zabrzu. W ich rezultacie zarysowano szczegółowe problemy dla dalszych badań, których celem powinno być m.in. stworzenie i przetestowanie koncepcji domu spokojnej starości dla mniejszej niż dotąd liczby osób, która w jak największym stopniu uwzględni indywidualne potrzeby seniorów.
    The article shows the adaptation to the stay in a nursing home as an individual phenomena, for which earlier life experience is the very important context. The narrative interviews has been conducted among chosen residents of one of the nursing homes in Zabrze. This resulted in the outline of some problems for further research, that should be aimed at the creation and testing of an idea of a nursing home for smaller groups of residents, in which the very individual needs of seniors will be included.
