As a result of far- reaching transformations in Poland after the year 1989 - the Polish educational system and pedagogics found themselves in new circumstances. There are numerous attempts to handle this new situation. Generally, one can notice two ways of handling it: one tends to be more judgemental. Thus education - as a model of education - in the period of practical materialism comes under a lot of criticism. The other approach tends to look for new theoretical and practical solutions on the field of education. The political, social and economic reforms have influenced the Polish educational system in the negative way. The Polish mass media frequently broadcast appalling examples of juvenile delinquency that come as a shock to the older part of the society. One solution to this situation can give Christian model of education which falls back on Christian values. The article deals with the following problems: explains the term ‘education’ and the concept of ‘human being’ as person in the light of Christian faith, gives the general foundations in Declaration on Christian education (Gravissimum educationis) of the Vatican Council II. Lastly, it touches the question of formation of a mature and responsible conscience.

W 1918 r. Polska odzyskała niepodległość. Proces odbudowy państwowości napotykał niezliczone trudności. Do nich można zaliczyć problemy występujące na polu oświaty i wychowania. Ówczesne władze polskie były świadome faktu, że wyzwania te należy podjąć jako jedne z pierwszych. Oświata bowiem i wychowanie są specyficznymi formami działalności, bez których nie jest możliwy proces odbudowy tkanki społecznej i narodowościowej kraju. Salezjanie czynnie włączyli się w proces odbudowy kraju otwierając wiele nowych placówek szkolno-wychowawczych.
In 1918, our country regained independence. The process of reestablishing its statehood came across innumerable problems including, among others, those arising in the area of education and upbringing the young. The contemporary Polish authorities were conscious of the fact that the state should give a priority to those issues. This is due to the fact, that education and upbringing constitute a specific type of activities, without which the process of reconstructing the social and national fabric is not possible. Salesians actively joined in this process opening a lot of new educational facilities.

Tourism, in a broad sense, is one of the human-related forms of activity. As well as sports phenomenon, tourism belongs to the field of recreation, which has developed on an unprecedented scale in the recent time. The above mentioned development is present worldwide, nationwide as well as in local environments. This phenomenon is more and more evident in our country. The most important reason for this is the socio-political transformation after year 1989, which lifted up visa obligations to many countries. Tourism has influence on humans. It seems to transform especially the young and broadens the culture aspects in their minds. Active touring makes them sensitive to human needs, prompts to care for their health, raises their awareness of the need for intellectual, moral and social development as well as esthetic and sacral values. Family tourism is of paramount importance for the young. Spending holidays together creates in them the spirit of co-operation, responsibility, co-activity and opens up to the needs of other members of family.

Opis:
After regaining its independence in 1918, Poland commenced a long-lasting reconstruction of the state structures. The legacy of three partitions significantly hindered this process. The Salesian Company, together with the whole society, participated in the creation of schools and protective structures. Until 1918, the Salesians could only realize their charisma within the territory annexed by Austria. One of the first activities of the Company after 1918 was opening secondary schools. This was done at the request of the authorities and the Polish society. A majority of those schools were created in the twenties. Some struggled with many problems, such as lack of properly qualified personnel or financial difficulties. Despite many problems, the schools enjoyed rather a good reputation in the Polish society and facilitated acquiring the secondary education for a large number of Polish youth.

Nowadays we use the term ‘social exclusion’. In the times of St. John Bosco the above mentioned term was not known but still the youth was affected by that fact. In the 19th century in Italy and in Piemonte in particular the fact of social exclusion was evident among the youth. This article is aimed to portray St. John Bosco as the one who helps the young socially excluded and deprived of family life. The very first reaction of John Bosco was his creation of his oratory for the young deprived of their own home. John Bosco would extend his offer of help to the young with the passage of time. He would build schools, boarding schools, junior high schools, vocational schools and other centres of education for them. He himself also created a unique method of educating of the young called “the preventive system”. He turned to religion, love and mind of the human-being who needs assistance and family atmosphere. The author also tries to highlight the social, economic and political situation of Italy of that time which contributed to the social exclusion of the young.

The nineteenth century was a very difficult period in the history of Italy (wars, revolutionary movements). These events all contributed to the great impoverishment of Italian society. Many people undertook a number of preventive measures in the field of education in order to make the situation better for the young. Father John Bosco was one of them. From 1841 to 1844, he worked as a chaplain in one of Turin’s prisons in which juvenile delinquents were serving prison sentences. Working with them strengthened Fr. Bosco’s conviction that everything should be done to prevent young people from going to prison. With this goal in mind, John Bosco established various institutions which gave youth a roof over their heads and the opportunity to learn a profession. He also created his own system of education, which he called a preventive system, based on reason, religion and love. Italian society, European countries, and many countries worldwide turned to Fr. Bosco and asked for the Salesians to start educational work. This article presents the development of the Salesian Society in the field of social work and education during the years in which Fr. Michael Rua was Superior General of the Salesians and first successor of John Bosco.

In 1918, Poland after 123 years of foreign rule regained its independence. The country was recreated from three partitions. The process of restoring the statehood came across numerous problems: war damage, lack of political structures, or of one, unified legislation or education system. The situation was further complicated by the global economic crisis. The new authorities were aware that the issue of education and upbringing was a priority. The Salesians who had been present in Polish lands since 1898, actively participated in the reconstruction of the young country. They formed secondary school education, vocational schools and orphanages. One of the forms of youth work was scouting. The Salesians supported this form and were involved in organizing and running scout squads.
W 1918 r. Polska po 123 latach niewoli odzyskała niepodległość. Kraj powstał z trzech zaborów. Proces odbudowywania państwowości napotykał liczne problemy: brak struktur politycznych, zniszczenia wojenne, różne prawodawstwo, brak jednego systemu szkolnictwa. Sytuacje komplikował ponadto ogólnoświatowy kryzys ekonomiczny. Nowa władza zdawała sobie sprawę, że kwestia szkolnictwa i wychowania należy do priorytetowych. W proces odbudowy młodego kraju czynnie włączyli się salezjanie, którzy byli obecni na ziemiach polskich od 1898 r. Tworzyli szkolnictwo ogólnokształcące, szkoły zawodowe i sierocińce. Jedną z form pracy z młodzieżą było harcerstwo. Salezjanie formę tę wspierali i angażowali się w organizowanie i prowadzenie drużyn harcerskich.
