Opis:
The contaminated waste is a by-product generated during coal mining process. This type of products may contain more or less 20% of clean coal, thus their ash content may vary in a wide range of 60 to 80%. This waste normally is stockpiled separately at “temporary disposal dumps” as they would not be regarded as waste in the full meaning, however, it is very sensitive for the miners who attempt to process such a waste. Based on the results of the coal characteristics survey at some surface coal mines of Vietnam, the studying authors have collected a large quantity of representative samples, such as Ha Tu, Nui Beo, Tay Khe Sim, Ha Rang mines and have carried out a number of experiments using low cost and highly efficient separating equipments. These are semi-industrial movable screen jig, fluidization separator, some samples of -0.5 mm size using flotation method. Products of processing include clean coal, which has ash content obtain quality standard of Viet Nam (clean coal is consumed easily) and tailings have ash content over 80%, which can waste. The study results showed that the application of the new machines could allow significant recovery of clean coal from the contaminated waste. This may significantly contributes in reduction of environmental pollution while ensuring the production viability and economic efficiency for the miners.

Opis:
Rare earth metals are used in electricity, electronics, nuclear, optics, space, metallurgy, superconducting and super magnetic materials, glass and ceramics, and agriculture. Some rare earth elements are added to fertilizers for crops and some trials for animal feed. Rare earth elements, except for radioactive promethium, are relatively abundant in the earth's crust. Vietnam has a tremendous rare earth potential, distributed mainly in the Northwest, including Nam Xe, Dong Pao, Muong Hum, and Yen Bai. There are many research projects on rare earth ores of different types globally, but the focus is mainly on the essential minerals, including monazite, xenotime, and bastnaesite. This report summarizes research data on rare earth ore intending to produce a general assessment of rare earth ore and its beneficiation technology in Vietnam.

Opis:
The Ta Phoi beneficiation plant is one of the main copper beneficiation plants in Vietnam. The plant has been put in operation since 2019 and annually process more than one million tons of ROM copper ore to collect 32 thousand tons of copper concentrate of 23% Cu. In the first years of operation the plant’s metallurgical performance has not been consistent and not been as good as in design. The most important task at the company in this day is to improve and stabilize this performance with a target to obtain the copper concentrate of 23% Cu and recovery of over 91.5%. This report presents some research results to increase the recovery and quality of the copper concentrate at Ta Phoi beneficiation plant. As the results, some technological solutions have been proposed concerning the optimization of the reagent regime as well as of flotation flowsheet. Some of these solutions have been tested directly in the plant production line and have the perspective to apply.
