    The article presents the principles of operation supply chains, and shows the variability of their configuration. The variability is caused mostly economic reasons such as cost, quality infrastructure and relationships with partners. The problem occurs in the supply of crude oil to the refinery in Poland. The chain formed under the previous system will soon be exposed to strong competition and will need to create a new system of supply. In the feature we can aspect an important role of Gdańsk port in petroleum supply chain. Relative to its infrastructures will become a major service center of petroleum products and petroleum services.

    W ramach niniejszego opracowania dokonano systematyki podstawowych komponentów ekonomiki rybackiej oraz przedstawiono wielopłaszczyznowe wyniki badań tej branży w okresie od 2010 do 2014 r., dokonując jednocześnie ocen cząstkowych i syntetycznych. Problematykę opracowania ujęto w trzech płaszczyznach: badań potencjału, badań procesów połowowych oraz badań efektów połowowych i efektywności floty bałtyckiej. W ramach pierwszego zagadnienia oceniono zdolność połowową floty oraz jej wykorzystanie. W kategorii procesów połowowych badaniu poddano nakłady połowowe i uzyskaną pracochłonność tych procesów. W ostatnim aspekcie przeprowadzono badanie wyników operacyjnych i finansowych floty. W efekcie przeprowadzone analizy pozwoliły na zidentyfikowanie podstawowych problemów branży oraz na zaproponowanie kierunków działań rozwojowych.
    The following article systematizes the concept of fisheries economics and performs multidimensional studies of the sector during 2010-2014, while conducting partial and synthetic assessments. The research issue was presented in three characteristic areas: studies on the capacity, studies on the fishing processes, as well as studies on the fishing efficiency and the Baltic fleet efficiency. In the first issue, the fleet capacity and its usage were rated. In the category of study processes, the fishing effort and the obtained workload of processes were examined. In the last aspect, the study of operational and financial results of the fleet was conducted. Consequently, the performed analyses led to the definition of basic problems of the sector and suggestions for directions of development activities.

    Kluczową częścią systemu logistycznego przedsiębiorstw kurierskich są przewozy liniowe (LH) o charakterze wahadłowym. Jednocześnie postulat minimalizacji kosztów działalności wymusza na przedsiębiorstwach sterowanie kluczowym dla nich parametrem, jakim jest koszt jednostkowy przewozu paczki głównie poprzez sterowanie pracą przewozową. Z perspektywy optymalizacji w bieżących warunkach rynkowych działalności procesów LH, inicjuje to szereg problemów decyzyjnych, zarówno w warstwie strategicznej, jak i operacyjnej. W praktyce, ze względu na czynniki ograniczające, możliwe jest wdrożenie tylko części rozwiązań optymalizacyjnych, co w ujęciu systemowym umożliwić może racjonalizację działalności przedsiębiorstwa.
    Parcel companies base their economic activity mostly on the line haul transfers. At the same time, due to the fact that they want to minimize the costs of their activity they have to control the crucial parameter, that is the unitary cost of parcel transport. From the optimization point of view, in the current market conditions of the LH processes it leads to a number of decision problems, both in the strategic and in the operational tier. In practice, due to various restrictions, it is possible only to introduce some of the optimization solutions, which, in the systematic approach, allows the enterprises to rationalize their activity.

    Opis:
    The surface water temperature in the Baltic Sea has been growing as a consequence of broader changes of the Earth’s climate, which contributes to the proliferation of natural bacterioplankton and new types of bacteria, such as Vibrio vulnificus, in the region. This pathogenic bacterium finds optimal conditions for growth primarily in warm brackish waters. Places particularly vulnerable to these bacteria include shallow Baltic coastal waters where the proliferation of Vibrio strains increases in summer. The growing temperature of coastal waters boost this phenomenon, posing a serious threat to human health and the coastal Baltic tourism. The BaltVib project implemented by marine microbiologists investigates the impact of the so-called “system engineers”, e.g. mussels, macroalgae, and seagrass, on the diversity and abundance of vibriosis. The research should help to develop strategies to mitigate the problem of excessive populations of vibriosis through nature-based solutions. In addition to environmental and health issues, public awareness of the phenomena and future threats are equally important and these are also addressed in the project. The article presents results of a survey conducted on the Polish coast involving 140 respondents interviewed concerning their awareness of the increasing population of pathogenic vibriosis. The survey helped to diagnose how local residents perceive the threat to human health posed by Vibrio vulnificus now and in the future, as well as possible impacts these bacteria might have on economic use of the coastal waters. The survey also investigated the level of acceptance for various methods used to mitigate negative environmental changes.
