- The most interesting and oldest register book from the Roman Catholic Parish of St Lawrence in Babimost, preserved in the Diocesan Archive in Zielona Góra, is the volume with the reference number 1 entitled Liber metricis Baptizatorum ab anno 1684 usque ad a. 1795. Copulatorum et Mortuorum 1681-1795. The Book is a remarkable source, since the priests from Babimost recorded not only baptism, wedding and death data, but also included the list of members of the Society of St. Anne, the accounts of the graces in The Book of Miracles, the list of parishioners who denied heresy as well as the notes worth remembering – with brief descriptions of the events of the history of Babimost. The entries include not only the town of Babimost but also the suburbs and surrounding villages, among others, Podmokle Wielkie and Małe, Grójec Wielki and Mały, Nowa Wieś, Kuligowo, Stare and Nowe Kramsko. The manuscript of Babimost, preserved in the Diocesan Archive in Zielona Góra, is a remarkable source for the history of the town and its surroundings. It can be useful not only for genealogists but also for regionalists, linguists and historians.
