The aerodynamic model of an aircraft can be considered as a mathematical representation of the forces and moments acting on the aircraft. These forces and moments are usually approximated by polynomials as function of aircraft’s state variables. The coefficients in the polynomials are known as the aerodynamic parameters. These aerodynamic parameters are of importance in the evaluation of aircraft performance and stability-control characteristics of an aircraft. These parameters also can be used in the design of, for example, automatic flight control systems and mathematical model of flight simulator. This paper will discuss the principles of the aerodynamic model identification of the aircraft based on flight test data using parameter identification techniques. The paper starts with discussion of a mathematical model of an aircraft. Next, parameter identification techniques will be described. Two techniques often used for estimation of the aerodynamic parameters will be discussed. Results of the modelling and estimation of the aerodynamic parameters, state trajectory of the aircraft, bias errors in the instrumentation system, and calibration factors of the vane-angle of attack from flight test data of the N-250 turboprop aircraft will be presented in this paper. Original achievement of that paper is the mathematical model of a turboprop aircraft.

Aeroelastic phenomena should be considered during the design phase of long span bridges. One of the aeroelastic problems is flutter, the dynamic instability that may cause structural failure at a wind speed called the flutter speed. The prediction of flutter speed of a bridge needs a thorough modelling of bridge stiffness, inertias, and especially its unsteady aerodynamic forces. The potential flow theory is not applicable to calculate unsteady aerodynamics of oscillating bridges due to their non-streamlined complex geometry, and the non-avoidable flow separation. For these reasons, a semi empirical model proposed by Scanlan is used to describe unsteady aerodynamic forces on an oscillating bridge deck. In this model, relation between unsteady aerodynamic forces and motion of the bridge is modelled using parameters known as flutter derivatives. The values of flutter derivatives can be identified from the free vibration responses of an elastic bridge at several wind-speeds. This paper presents wind tunnel tests and flutter derivatives identification of a sectional aeroelastic bridge model. Modified Ibrahim Time Domain method was applied to identify the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the model at each wind speed, from which the flutter derivatives can be calculated. The results show that the measurement procedure is able produce flutter derivatives, which are in good agreement with those obtained by other researchers.

We focus on a specific sub-model of the proposed family that we call the new half logistic-Fréchet. This sub-model stems from a new generalisation of the half-logistic distribution which we call the new half-logistic-G. The novelty of proposing this new family is that it does not include any additional parameters and instead relies on the baseline parameter. Standard statistical formulas are used to show the forms of the density and failure rate functions, ordinary and incomplete moments with generating functions, and random variate generation. The maximum likelihood estimation procedure is used to estimate the set of parameters. We conduct a simulation analysis to ensure that our calculations are converging with lower mean square error and biases. We use three real-life data sets to equate our model to well-established existing models. The proposed model outperforms the well-established four parameters beta Fréchet and exponentiated generalized Fréchet for some real- -life results, with three parameters such as half-logistic Fréchet, exponentiated Fréchet, Zografos–Balakrishnan gamma Fréchet, Topp–Leonne Fréchet, and Marshall–Olkin Fréchet and two-parameter classical Fréchet distribution.

Micro Coaxial Helicopter with compact size and vertical takeoff ability offers a good Micro Aerial Vehicle (MAV) configuration to handle indoor mission such as search, rescue and surveillance. An autonomous MAV helicopter equipped with micro vision devices could provide more information of the scene, in which the human present is risky. Toward an autonomous flight, mathematical model of the helicopter should be obtained before controller design takes place. This paper will discuss the mathematical modelling, simulation and identification of a micro coaxial helicopter. The mathematical model of the micro coaxial helicopter will be presented, in which total forces and moment are expressed as a Taylor series expansion as function of the state and control variables. The mathematical model will be used to simulate the helicopter responses due to control input. The simulation was used to obtain better understanding of the characteristics of the helicopter before flight test program are performed. Flight test program dedicated to identify the parameter of the micro coaxial helicopter have been carried out. The micro coaxial helicopter was instrumented with sensory system to measure some input and output variables. The use of Kalman filter to estimate the state and total least squares to estimate the aerodynamic parameter of micro coaxial helicopter based on the flight test data will be presented. Some identification results and model validation will be given in this paper.

Entrepreneurial orientation is a crucial element for a firm’s success. Nonetheless, most of the findings from previous studies provide the results of testing the direct effect of entrepreneurial orientation on firm performance. Various factors have been used to determine the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance by past studies. In this study, we contribute to the entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance literature by proposing a wider perspective with intermediate step: type of process innovation effectiveness. A quantitative approach and simple random sampling through self-administered questionnaire was adopted to collect the data from SMEs sector which consist of the SMEs owners, directors, and the general managers in Algeria. There were 291 respondents who participated and 258 respondents were usable for further analysis after the screening process. SPSS - 20 and Smart-PLS 2.0 were utilized to screen and analyze the data. The results of data analysis showed that the entrepreneurial orientation does not have significant direct effect on the firm performance. It means that there is an intervening variable between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance namely process innovation effectiveness. Further, this study found that the process innovation effectiveness mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the firm performance.
Orientacja przedsiębiorcza jest kluczowym elementem sukcesu firmy. Niemniej jednak, większość wniosków z dotychczasowych badań dostarcza wyników dotyczących testowania bezpośredniego wpływu orientacji przedsiębiorczej na wydajność firmy. W badaniach tych w celu określenia zależności między orientacją przedsiębiorczą a wydajnością firmy wykorzystywano różne czynniki. Niniejsze opracowanie stanowi przyczynek do literatury na temat orientacji przedsiębiorczej i wydajności firmy, proponując szerszą perspektywę z etapem pośrednim: rodzajem efektywności innowacji w obrębie procesu. W celu zebrania danych z sektora MŚP, obejmujących właścicieli, dyrektorów i dyrektorów naczelnych MŚP w Algierii, przyjęto podejście ilościowe i proste losowe pobieranie próbek przy wykorzystaniu samodzielnego kwestionariusza. W badaniu wzięło udział 291 respondentów, po przeglądzie, odpowiedzi 258 respondentów nadawały się do dalszej analizy. Do przeszukiwania i analizy danych wykorzystane zostały programy SPSS - 20 i Smart-PLS 2.0. Wyniki analizy danych wykazały, że orientacja przedsiębiorcza nie ma istotnego bezpośredniego wpływu na wydajność przedsiębiorstwa. Oznacza to, że pomiędzy orientacją przedsiębiorczą a wydajnością firmy istnieje interwencyjna zmienna, zwana efektywnością innowacji w obrębie procesu. Ponadto, niniejsze opracowanie wykazało, że efektywność innowacji w obrębie procesu pośredniczy w relacji między orientacją przedsiębiorczą a wydajnością firmy.

The current study was aimed to evaluate the industrial effluents biodegradation potential of an indigenous microorganism which reduced water pollution caused by these effluents. In the present study biodegradation of three textile industrial effluents was performed with locally isolated brown rot fungi named Coniophora puteana IEBL-1. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed under Box Bhenken Design (BBD) for the optimization of physical and nutritional parameters for maximum biodegradation. Quality of treated effluents was checked by study of BOD, COD and analysis through HPLC. Three ligninolytic enzymes named lignin peroxidase, manganese peroxidase and laccase were also studied during the biodegradation process. The results showed that there was more than 85% biodegradation achieved for all three effluents with decrease in Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) below the recommended values for industrial effluent i.e. 80 mg/L for BOD and 220 mg/L for COD after optimization of nutritional parameters in the second stage. Analysis of samples through HPLC revealed the formation of less toxic diphenylamine, 3-methyldiphenylamine and N-methylaniline after treatment. The ligninolytic enzymes assays confirmed the role of lignin peroxidase (LiP), manganese peroxidase (MnP) and laccase in biodegradation process. Lignin peroxidase with higher activity has more contribution in biodegradation of effluents under study. It can be concluded through the results that Coniophora buteana IEBL-1 is a potential fungus for the treatment of industrial effluents.

In 2021, pak choi production in Indonesia was 727.47 Mg, marking an increase of 8.2% compared to the 2020 production, which was 667.47 Mg. Therefore, there is a clear need for cultivation improvement, particularly through the implementation of organic fertilisers. This study aimed to investigate the impact of liquid organic fertiliser (LOF) derived from fish waste and duck manure on the growth and yield of the pak choi plant (Brassica rapa. L. var. Nauli F1). A randomised block design factorial was used with two factors and three replications. The first factor considered was LOF from fish waste, comprising three levels (LOF0= control, LOF1= 25 cm3∙dm-3 of water, and LOF2= 50 cm3∙dm-3 of water). The second factor focused on duck manure fertiliser (DMF) and involved four levels (DMF0= control, DMF1= 3.7 kg∙plot-1, DMF2= 5.55 kg∙plot-1, and DMF3= 7.4 kg∙plot-1). The results showed that the application of LOF from fish waste positively influenced the growth and yield of pak choi, with the most effective treatment observed in LOF1(25 cm3∙dm-3 of water). However, the application of DMF did not yield a significant difference in its effect on the growth and yield of the pak choi plant. The control treatment (DMF0) reported comparable results and the combination of LOF from fish waste and DMF did not show a significant effect, with the most favourable findings observed in the LOF2DMF0 treatment (50 cm3∙dm-3 and control).

Zaman and Bulut (2018a) developed a class of estimators for a population mean utilising LMS robust regression and supplementary attributes. In this paper, a family of estimators is proposed, based on the adaptation of the estimators presented by Zaman (2019), followed by the introduction of a new family of regression-type estimators utilising robust regression tools (LAD, H-M, LMS, H-MM, Hampel-M, Tukey-M, LTS) and supplementary attributes. The mean square error expressions of the adapted and proposed families are determined through a general formula. The study demonstrates that the adapted class of the Zaman (2019) estimators is in every case more proficient than that of Zaman and Bulut (2018a). In addition, the proposed robust regression estimators based on robust regression tools and supplementary attributes are more efficient than those of Zaman and Bulut (2018a) and Zaman (2019).The theoretical findings are supported by real-life examples.

Opis:
Minimal neighbour designs (NDs) are used when a response of a treatment (direct effect) is affected by the treatment(s) applied in the neighbouring units. Minimal generalised NDs are preferred when minimal NDs cannot be constructed. Through the method of cyclic shifts (Rule I), the conditions for the existence of minimal circular generalised NDs are discussed, in which v/2 unordered pairs do not appear as neighbours. Certain generators are also developed to obtain minimal circular generalised NDs in blocks of two different sizes, where k2 = 3, 4 and 5. All these designs are constructed using i sets of shifts for k1 and two for k2.

The effect of titanium nitride (TiN) thickness as the support layer for carbon nanotubes (CNTs) growth was investigated by depositing three different thicknesses: 20 nm, 50 nm and 100 nm. This TiN support layer was deposited on SiO2 pads before depositing nickel (Ni) as the catalyst material. The Ni distribution on different TiN thicknesses was studied under hydrogen environment at 600°C. Then, the samples were further annealed at 600°C in acetylene and hydrogen environment for CNTs growth. The results show that, the optimum TiN thickness was obtained for 50 nm attributed by the lowest D to G ratio (0.8).

The study evaluated the adsorption potential of white cedar sawdust (WCS) for dye removal. WCS was chosen from five preferred, abundant waste biomasses from Pakistan. Various parameters such as contact time, adsorbent dose, dye concentration, pH, and particle size were optimized for methylene blue (MB) dye adsorption. The adsorbent was characterized by FTIR, SEM, EDX and BET analyses. The surface area of the adsorbent was 1.43 m2·g-1 and pore volume was 0.000687 cm3·g-1. The adsorption data best fitted the isotherm models of Langmuir, Temkin, Dubinin–Radushkevich, and Freundlich. The maximum experimental adsorption capacity obtained was 55.15 mg·g-1, which was in close agreement to the calculated adsorption capacity. Fitness of the pseudo-second order kinetics suggested chemisorption as the rate-limiting step. Thermodynamic study for adsorption was carried out to evaluate the Gibbs free energy (ΔG°), enthalpy (ΔH°) and entropy (ΔS°). The negative values ΔG° at the examined temperature range confirmed the spontaneous adsorption of MB onto WCS.

Antibiotics are used for postsurgical wound healing purposes but unfortunately, resistance against them demands some alternatives for quick recovery. Sepsis of wounds is a challenge for medical as well as veterinary professionals. Nanoparticles have significant advantages in wound treatment and drug resistance reversal. This study was conducted to appreciate emerging alternates of antibiotics like zinc oxide nanoparticles and plant extracts in topical application. Zinc oxide is considered a good wound healer and its nanoparticles are easy to access. So, the efficacies of zinc oxide nanoparticles and sweet flag plant extract ointments were tested to compare modern and traditional therapeutics as sweet flag is considered a pure medicinal plant. Rabbits were selected for this study due to the healing properties of their skin. Wounds were inflicted on the thoracolumbar region and treated for 29 days post-surgically daily with normal saline and the ointment of zinc oxide nanoparticles and sweet flag extract ointment, prepared in a hydrophilic solvent. Wound shrinkage was observed daily and histopathological analysis was made and results were compared. Zinc oxide nanoparticles ointment showed the most satisfactory results for every parameter included in the study. No side effects of its topical application were observed. Healing was normal without any complications. The preparations of zinc oxide nanoparticles may help in the era of antibiotic resistance as topical drugs in the future.

The global prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) is escalating, posing a significant challenge to human healthcare systems. In the present study, mineral and monosaccharide compositions, and antidiabetic potential of polysaccharide fractions separated from Centella asiatica (L.) leaves (CAL) were assessed. Initial single-factor experiments identified key extraction parameters, further optimized through response surface methodology (RSM) with optimal conditions determined as a liquid-to-solid ratio of 24.43:1 (mL/g), extraction time of 60.76 min, and a temperature of 83.31℃. Alcohol insoluble residue (AIR) extraction yielded three crude polysaccharide fractions (P50, P70, and P90). P50 was obtained with the highest yield (14.31%) and exhibited the highest content of total sugars and uronic acids (68.01 and 24.28 g/100 g, respectively). Calcium, magnesium, and manganese were dominant minerals in P50 and P70. Monosaccharide composition analysis via high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) demonstrated enrichment of galacturonic acid, galactose, and arabinose in P50 and P70. Furthermore, both fractions (P50 and P70) exhibited dose-dependent inhibitory effects on α-amylase and α-glucosidase. At 5 mg/mL, P50 caused 68.3% α-amylase inhibition and 62.3% α-glucosidase inhibition, while P70 triggered 46.8% and 34.1% inhibition, respectively. In conclusion, this study is the first to provide valuable insights into optimizing CAL extraction conditions. Potential utilization of polysaccharide fractions obtained from CAL as components for formulating functional foods can be explored in the future.

In this paper, the researchers have investigated the effect of various crises on the development of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) process in Jordanian hospitals. They used the quantitative research design technique to fulfil all the study’s objectives. After that, they also tested whether their hypothesised model could be used for developing the BCM. After distributing question-naires amongst the supervisors working in 7 private hospitals in Amman, Jordan, they collected all the data. Then, they carried analysed and sorted all the data using the SPSS software. The study results showed that the hospitals in Jordan were eager to maintain security and stability in the case of a crisis. Additional statistical tests presented evidence regarding the positive effect of different factors (such as external/ internal crises, natural disasters, operational and strategic risks, and the probability of recurrence of a crisis) on the BCM development in Jordanian hospitals. Here, the researchers have attempted to offer insights and knowledge to help practitioners, academicians and policymakers.
W niniejszym artykule zbadano wpływ różnych sytuacji kryzysowych na rozwój procesu zarządzania ciągłością działania (ang. Business Continuity Management, BCM) w jordańskich szpitalach. Wykorzystano technikę projektowania badań ilościowych. Przetestowano również, czy hipotetyczny model można wykorzystać do opracowania BCM. Dane, uzyskane w wyniku badania ankietowego przełożonych pracujących w 7 prywatnych szpitalach w Ammanie w Jordanii, zostały przeanalizowane za pomocą oprogramowania SPSS. Wyniki badania wykazały, że szpitale w Jordanii dbały o zachowanie bezpieczeństwa i stabilności na wypadek kryzysu. Dodatkowe testy statystyczne dostarczyły dowodów na pozytywny wpływ różnych czynników (takich jak kryzysy zewnętrzne/wewnętrzne, klęski żywiołowe, ryzyka operacyjne i strategiczne, prawdopodobieństwo ponownego wystąpienia kryzysu) na rozwój BCM w jordańskich szpitalach. Autorzy próbowali przedstawić spostrzeżenia i wiedzę, które mogą być pomocne praktykom, naukowcom i decydentom.
