Opis:
The paper presents a method of measuring deformations of cylindrical samples on the testing machine for free tube hydroforming experiments. During experiments a sample made of a thin-walled metal tube is expanded by the internal pressure of the working liquid and additionally subjected to axial compression. This results in a considerable circumferential deformation of the tube and its shortening. Analysis of the load cases and their impact on the deformations can be helpful in determining e.g. tube material properties or general limiting conditions in the tube hydroforming process. In connection with the above, the value of deformations and knowledge of their course during experiment has become one of the most important problems related to the issue described above.

Opis:
Advanced vision method of analysis of the Erichsen cupping test based on laser speckle is presented in this work. This method proved to be useful for expanding the range of information on material formability for two commonly used grades of steel sheets: DC04 and DC01. The authors present a complex methodology and experimental procedure that allows not only to determine the standard Erichsen index but also to follow the material deformation stages immediately preceding the occurrence of the crack. Accurate determination of these characteristics in the sheet metal forming would be an important application, especially for automotive industry. However, the sheet metal forming is a very complex manufacturing process and its success depends on many factors. Therefore, attention is focused in this study on better understanding of the Erichsen index in combination with the material deformation history.

Opis:
In this study, an algorithm for identification of elastic and viscoelastic constants of a recently developed constitutive equation for thermoplastics and resins is presented. The equation has been applied to model the viscoelastic response of ultra high molecular weigth polyethylene. In order to determine the material parameters, a series of rheological tests has been performed. A set of equations describing one-dimensional processes has been derived and is utilized to determine the material constants. The material parameter identification leads to a set of 9 constants, i.e. 3 constants of elasticity and 6 constants of viscoelasticity. For the determined values of parameters, several validation tests have been performed.
