Opis:
Catechesis owns a personal manner of speaking out, mainly through her own functions of instructing, upbringing and initiation. The first one is not only the transfer of knowledge, but it desires to become commemorating of the most important salvation events. The second function cares, so the catechesis forms the attitudes in human, as well as in Christian dimension. Function of initiation is for most important for catechesis, because shows catechesis as a space of opening to supernatural dimension and introduction into. The last function underlines most, that catechesis is not only the pedagogical process, but pedagogy of faith, God’s pedagogy. This function sets up a special language suitable for religion, which is a symbolic language (metaphors, parabolas, parables, rituals, myths etc.).

Opis:
Around the concept and process of evangelization, that is around both the theory and practice of this process, a lot of doubts have appeared in recent years. Nearly all educational, formative activities undertaken in the Church, not only with respect to children and young people, but with respect to adults as well, are defined with the use of this word. However, in the practice of the ancient Church propagating Christ, conversion, preparation for baptism, catechesis presenting the meaning of rites and introducing one into the life of the Church were integrally connected with the evangelization process. This process has been radically reversed in modern times. In parish catechesis basically there is no evangelization process preceding it; also teaching religion at school cannot undertake all evangelization tasks, as the nature of education does not allow this. Since young people constantly need adults who accompany them and educate them in the proper way, the Salesian order whose vocation is Christian education of children and young people, should be open to evangelization of parents and adults, as it is only such evangelization that may contribute to efficient educational work.

W obecnej rzeczywistości, gdy rozpowszechnia się coraz bardziej liberalny model wychowania, postulat formacji integralnej ucznia staje się koniecznością. Analiza podstawy programowej nauczania ogólnego uświadamia nam, że szkoła tkwi w głębokim kryzysie, który także sama wywołała. Podjęcie działań naprawczych wymaga zespolonych, solidarnych działań. Dopiero wówczas będą one skuteczne. Należy pilnie uświadamiać rodziców o ich prawie do wychowania, jak również wspomagać działania na rzecz domagania się ich udziału w wychowaniu szkolnym. Są to zadania, jakie stoją dzisiaj przed wszystkimi podmiotami odpowiedzialnymi za wychowanie: rodzicami, samą szkołą i Kościołem.
Whilst looking for the evidence of integral education the educational documents derived from Polish schools have become the subject of the scrutiny. The results reveal lack of interest in the integral education. Schools are not considering pedagogical values present in religion (Christianity). Such values could enhance school education and give it more integral quality. An insight into the workings of the Ministry of National Education uncovers numerous activities hindering and obstructing parents’ initiatives. It is alleged that such actions are of totalitarian nature, revealing, among others, Centralist administration, external control, lack of pluralism and response to critical voices, evasion of problem solving, etc. Faced with the above situation parents should not only act in an organised way but also put pressure on the educational authorities. For many of the initiatives have been changed or abandoned under pressure, thus disrespecting parents’ point of view. Pressure makes sense!

Salezjanie, którzy obchodzą w tym roku 200-lecie urodzin swojego założyciela, św. Jana Bosko, wezwani są do odpowiedzi na współczesne wyzwania w dziedzinie wychowania. Muszą poszukiwać ich w dzisiejszym społeczeństwie, które jest nacechowane chaosem w dziedzinie wartości, liberalnym podejściem do tradycji, kultury i religii. Salezjanie w tej sytuacji mają zmierzać zarówno do zapewnienia wychowankowi poczucia stabilności i egzystencjalnego bezpieczeństwa, jak i do wychowania człowieka. Innym obszarem poszukiwania odpowiedzi jest rodzina. Salezjanie mają pamiętać, że pierwszymi wychowawcami są rodzice, wspólnie z nimi, nie sami, muszą zabiegać o integralne wychowanie młodego pokolenia. Mają wychowywać przez miłość do miłości, zgodnie z systemem prewencyjnym. Dzisiejsi rodzice potrzebują w swoich zadaniach wychowawczych wsparcia. Może nim być katecheza rodziny czy katecheza dorosłych. Dlatego salezjanie powinni bardziej otwierać się na wychowywanie ludzi dorosłych. Ich szczególnym zadaniem jest też troska o rozwój oratorium jako paradygmatu wychowania w stylu prewencyjnym.
The Salesians, who celebrate this year the 200th anniversary of the birth of their founder, St. John Bosco, are called to respond to the contemporary challenges in the field of education. One of them is the search for answers in today’s society. It is characterized by chaos in the field of values, liberal approach to tradition, culture, and religion.In this situation, the Salesians seek to ensure pupil existential sense of stability and security. It is achieved by an educational system based on reason, religion, and love. It can assist in the education of the whole person. Another area to search for answers is the family. The Salesians cannot forget that parents are the first educators. That is why we, as Salesians, and the parents together aim to seek the integral education of the younger generation. Emphasized by St. John Bosco, in this context love means a value indicating the direction of family education: to educate by love for love. Today, however, parents need instruction support in their work. This may mean family catechesis and catechesis of adults. Therefore the Salesians should be more open to educating adults so that parents would be more aware of their Christian duties. The last area to finding answers to the challenges are existing educational institutions in the Salesian Congregation. The first is the oratory, somewhat today neglected by the Polish Salesians. Meanwhile, the chance of an education can be attained due to the fact that religion and culture are to be combined.
