Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present the essence of medical secrecy. Notes included in the article refer to Polish law. It is desirable to, firstly, attempt at a definition of "medical secret", and secondly, at the basis of the proposed definition determine the content and substance of a physician’s duty to maintain confidentiality of certain information. Materials and methods: Indications and other selected postulates presented in this paper will be based on a review of existing legislation and scientific reflection. Conclusions: Obligation of medical secrecy is in fact a number of duties of different importance, which generally ensures confidentiality of personal data.

The article presents the results of the research carried out by the author related to the meaning of the Olympic education, including the phenomenon of fair play and education through sport in the educational process of junior high school students. Physical culture in it’s various alterations accompanies man throughout his whole life. Movement is a natural way of getting to know yourself and the environment in which we live in. Exploration of movement as a educational mean of teaching where children and youth are actively involved in the internalization process of the universal values, which in the language of sports came to be known as a Olympic values. The author in his study claimed a hypothesis: The participants of the Olympic education possess distinguishable values of pro-social attitudes,than the students deprived of them.The priority objective of the research was to determine influential direction of a Olympic education on shaping pro-social attitudes. Looking for an answer, the author of the research took under the scope three groups of teenagers (n = 120). All those groups were composed of junior high school students (1. The Olympic Education Class, 2. The Sport Class 3. The Control Class). The Diagnostic tool used in the investigation concerning students opinion was specially designed questionnaire created by the author. In the first part of the study, students expressed their opinions on topic of presented situation, which involved five areas of their lives: me, family, friends, education and society. In the second part of the survey respondents’ were answering to the open questions concerning the phenomenon of fair play. The research results indicate that impact of Olympic education and education through sport on the shaping of pro-social attitudes among junior high school students.

The issue presented in this article is the problem of specificity of the features which constitute the prohibited acts whose definitions contain the term condition under the influence and the term condition after consumption. One must take note of the fact that the lack of definition of clear quantitative limits of narcotic drugs in the content of the penalizing regulation does not make it unconstitutional. Although prima facie this situation may raise doubts related to the procedural safeguards, there is a number of important reasons for not providing specific ratios. However, it must be emphasized that both the doctrine and the jurisprudence point at the lack of possibility, or significant difficulty, to create an exhaustive list of narcotic drugs and their precise threshold ratios on which the criminality of individual behavior would depend.This article aims at providing general information on the subject to the broader public, and explaining reasons behind the status quo, rather than at solving the arising legal problems. The commitment embodies the intention to launch an irregular series of papers under a general (sub) title.

In classification problems, the issue of high dimensionality, of data is often considered important. To lower data dimensionality, feature selection methods are often employed. To select a set of features that will span a representation space that is as good as possible for the classification task, one must take into consideration possible interdependencies between the features. As a trade-off between the complexity of the selection process and the quality of the selected feature set, a pairwise selection strategy has been recently suggested. In this paper, a modified pairwise selection strategy is proposed. Our research suggests that computation time can be significantly lowered while maintaining the quality of the selected feature sets by using mixed univariate and bivariate feature evaluation based on the correlation between the features. This paper presents the comparison of the performance of our method with that of the unmodified pairwise selection strategy based on several well-known benchmark sets. Experimental results show that, in most cases, it is possible to lower computation time and that with high statistical significance the quality of the selected feature sets is not lower compared with those selected using the unmodified pairwise selection process.

This paper presents the results of the study on the changes in apparent dynamic viscosity of the tomato pulp, obtained from the fruit of various tomato varieties selected for cultivation according to their suitability for two harvest methods: mechanical and manual depending on shear rates and temperatures. Rheological properties of tomato pulp at a shear rate within the range of 100< γ ≤ 1000 can be described by the Ostwald de Wael modulus. Linear function describes the relationship K=f(T) for the temperature range of 333≤T≤363 K.
Badano lepkość dynamiczną przecieru pomidorowego odmian pomidorów przeznaczonych do mechanicznego i ręcznego zbioru. Zastosowano wiskozymetr Haake RV-3. Opisano krzywe płynięcia modelem reologicznym Ostwalda de Waele. Podano współczynnik konsystencji (K) i płynięcia (n) oraz zależności lepkości pozornej od gradientu prędkości ścinania i temperatury.

Na stanowisku laboratoryjnym przeprowadzono doświadczenia nad suszeniem pojedynczych kropel koncentratu soku z buraków ćwikłowych o zawartości ekstraktu 30% przy temperaturach czynnika suszącego 50, 60, 70, 80, 90°C oraz jego stałej prędkości v=1m*s-1. Wpływ temperatury czynnika suszącego na spadek zawartości wody opisano równaniem wykładniczym. Określono też wielkość strumienia wilgoci.

Przy pomocy posturografii zbadano wpływ informacji wzrokowej na stabilność postawy ciała u osób w różnych grupach wiekowych oraz u starszych osób z idiopatycznymi zaburzeniami chodu. Z sygnału posturograficznego reprezentującego środek nacisku ciała na podłoże (CoP) wyodrębniono składową ruchu środka masy (CoM) oraz różnicę między środkiem nacisku a środkiem masy (CoPM). Porównano dwa parametry oceniające wielkość oscylacji poszczególnych trzech sygnałów: długość ścieżki L oraz odchylenie standardowe S sygnału. Zamknięcie oczu powodowało istotny statystycznie wzrost oscylacji we wszystkich grupach wiekowych. Oba parametry L i S podobnie różnicowały grupy wiekowe oraz wpływ zamknięcia oczu, z tą różnicą, że dla parametru L istotność statystyczna była dla zdecydowanej większości porównań wyższa. W miarę wzrostu wieku następuje stopniowe pogarszanie się zdolności utrzymywania balansu ciała osiągając maksimum u osób z idiopatycznymi zaburzeniami chodu. Oscylacje na kierunku lewo–prawo wzrastają istotnie silniej po zamknięciu oczu oraz w miarę przyrostu wieku osób badanych niż oscylacje na kierunku przód–tył.
The influence of the visual input on the postural control quality was ex- amined using posturography for subjects in different age suffering from idiopathic gait disturbances. The center of mass (CoM) and the remaining difference (CoPM) was extracted from the original posturographic signals representing center of pressure of the body on the ground (CoP). Two parameters describing the oscillations in analyzed signals were compared: the total path length L and the standard deviation of signal samples S. Both parameters distinguished in similar way the examined age groups and eyes state (open/closed). Parameter L has, however, reached higher statistical significance than S. The gradual deterioration of balance quality has been observed with increasing age and occurring of gait disturbances. The increase in oscillations in the left–right direction was higher than in the front–rear direction both in age groups and when closing eyes.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of extended home-based vision therapy as a treatment for symptomatic convergence insufficiency (CI) in young exophoric adults. Twenty-four adults with symptomatic exophoria at near with convergence insufficiency were divided into an experimental and a control group. The experimental group received 24 weeks of vision training, while the control group received no therapy. The three major outcome measures were the scores on the convergence insufficiency symptom survey V15 (CISS-V15), the near point of convergence and the positive fusional vergence at near. Only subjects from the experimental group demonstrated statistically and clinically significant changes in the CISS-V15 score (improvement of 20 points), near point of convergence (improvement of 5.5 cm) and positive fusional vergence at near (improvement of 15 Δ). No significant changes of either symptoms or signs were evident for the control group. The results presented in this study showed that extending the time and number of home based therapy techniques might be an effective treatment modality in adult subjects with CI. This therapy might be an alternative way for treatment of symptomatic exophoric CI subjects, who cannot attend office sessions.
