Opis:
Crowdsourced bathymetry (CSB) is relatively new concept of collecting bathymetric data. CSB can be defined as the collection and sharing of depth data (and metadata) measured and collected by non-traditional survey vessels equipped with navigation instruments, while maintaining their usual operations at sea. International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) has developed Guidance on CSB. This document provides framework for data collection, processing and information about data uncertainty. IHO has also developed model within CSB concept in order to make standardization of CSB data. The data collected using CSB may represent valuable supplement to the existing data collected by hydrographic survey. Despite this fact it is necessary to emphasize that CSB data cannot be used as official data. CSB data collection has also potential legal issues due to the character of sounding passage within territorial and internal waters of coastal states. This paper emphasized the differences between hydrographic survey and CSB. Advantages and disadvantages are analyzed with it's potential implication on safety of navigation. Due to the CSB data collection model limitations, development of bathymetric data collection model on national level is recommended.

Changes in presence of alien species in the ruderal vegetation of a representative ecosystem in a major city over 30 years: a case study from Bratislava

The study is focused on evaluating changes in the presence of alien species in ruderal vegetation. Two datasets comprising phytosociological relevés of ruderal communities during two time periods within the Bratislava City (in southwestern Slovakia) were analyzed. The old dataset consisted of 387 relevés recorded in the years 1975–1982, and the more recent dataset consisted of 308 relevés from the years 2011–2014. The relevés from both time periods were assigned to phytosociological classes via the same procedure – numerical classification (hierarchical clustering) using HIERCLUS software. The average values of the percentage number and percentage cover of the archaeophytes and neophytes as groups in the earlier and more recent relevés of each class were compared by the main effects ANOVA analysis in the STATISTICA 7.0 software. The proportion of each taxon of archaeophytes and neophytes in both datasets was also calculated. The invasive status, origin, and life forms of alien species in both datasets were compared. In total, both datasets comprised 120 archaeophytes and 71 neophytes. The old dataset contained more archeaophytes than the more recent dataset. On the contrary, the more recent dataset contained more neophytes than the old dataset. In the years 2011–2014, more invasive neophytes were recorded than in the past. The results revealed a statistically significant decrease in the average percentage number of archaeophytes in the classes Stellarietea mediae, Artemisietea vulgaris, and Galio-Urticetea, and a decrease in the average percentage cover of archaeophytes in the class Artemisietea vulgaris, compared to the past. On the contrary, a statistically significant increase in the average percentage number and cover of neophytes in the classes Artemisietea vulgaris and Galio-Urticetea was recorded. Some rare species of archaeophytes were only recorded 30 years ago (e.g., Kickxia elatine, Silene gallica). Furthermore, several species of neophytes (including some invasive taxa, e.g., Fallopia japonica, Helianthus tuberosus, Juncus tenuis) occur only currently in the ruderal vegetation of Bratislava.

Coal flotation is a complex multiphase process governed by different sub-processes and interphase interactions. The coal cleaning efficiency by flotation is largely affected by many different physical and chemical factors that can be roughly classified into three main group: coal feed properties, pulp chemical and rheological properties, and machine and operational properties. A great number of flotation kinetic model have been proposed in literature but a vast majority uses three parameters to describe the flotation kinetics, which are the ultimate recovery, the flotation rate constant, and flotation time. The models expand on the classical theory of flotation proposed by Zuniga (1935) that is based on the assumption that the particle–bubble collision rate is first-order with respect to the number of particles in the system, while bubble concentration remains constant. The flotation rate constant is directly proportional to available bubble surface area and probability of flotation, which is strongly dependent on particle size. Therefore, particle size is one of the most important parameters in coal flotation because it affects gas bubble mineralization and froth stability, bubble size distribution and air holdup, bubble-particle collision, attachment, and detachment rates, and reagent adsorption. Numerous researchers have studied the effect of particle size on flotation kinetics over years. This paper provides a comprehensive review of coal flotation kinetics models with a special focus on the effect of particle size on coal kinetic rate, recovery, and product quality. A particular emphasis will be put on research findings reported over the last three decades.

The effect of eggplant rootstock on yield and quality characteristics of tomato fruit have been studied in a three subsequent cropping years at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, Serbia. Tomato cultivar ‘Jeremy’ was used as scion and as an ungrafted control, and as rootstock eggplant cultivar ‘Madona’ and Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae. In the case of Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae as a rootstock high percentage (82%) of successful grafting was observed, while survival rate of treatment ‘Jeremy’ as a scion and eggplant ‘Madona’ as a rootstock was only 68%. A negative effect of grafting on the eggplant rootstock was observed regarding fruit yield per plant, number of fruits per plant and total yield. These parameters were significantly higher in the ungrafted treatments and in the treatment Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae as a rootstock. Organic acid and lycopene content was significantly higher when the eggplant ‘Madona’ was used as a rootstock. Total sugar and vitamin C content was highest in the treatment Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae as a rootstock.
Badano wpływ podkładki z bakłażana na plon i cechy jakości owoców pomidora w trzech kolejnych latach upraw. Odmiana pomidora ‘Jeremy’ była użyta do szczepienia i jako nieszczepiona kontrola, natomiast jako podkładki użyto odmiany bakłażana ‘Madona’ oraz Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae. W przypadku ‘Madona’ oraz Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae jako podkładki zaobserwowano wysoki procent (82%) udanych szczepień, natomiast wskaźnik przeżycia dla ‘Jeremy’ jako zrazu i bakłażana ‘Madona’ jako podkładki wynosił tylko 68%. Zaobserwowano negatywny wpływ szczepienia na podkładce bakłażana jeśli chodzi o plon owoców z rośliny, liczbę owoców na roślinie oraz plon całkowity. Parametry te były istotnie wyższe przy zabiegach bez szczepień oraz przy zabiegu z użyciem Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae jako podkładki. Zawartość kwasów organicznych i likopenu była istotnie większa, gdy jako podkładki użyto bakłażana ‘Madona’. Największą zawartość cukru i witaminy C stwierdzono w owocach podczas zabiegu przy użyciu Lycopersicon esculentum ssp. subspontaneum var. cerasiformae jako podkładki.
