Opis:
The cathodoluminescence spectra for Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Μn$\text{}_{x}$Te (0 < x ≤ 0.7) and Zn$\text{}_{1-x}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$Te (0 < x ≤ 0.6) at room and liquid nitrogen temperature have been presented and discussed. Especially, the influence of increasing temperature and Mn content on cathodoluminescence spectra. The cathodoluminescence emission in Ζn$\text{}_{1-x}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$Te (Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Μn$\text{}_{x}$Te) centered at ≈ 1.95 eV (2.0 eV) and ≈ 2.2 eV (2.5 eV) are ascribed to Stokes-shifted $\text{}^{4}$Τ$\text{}_{1}$($\text{}^{4}$G) → $\text{}^{6}$A$\text{}_{1}$($\text{}^{6}$S) and $\text{}^{4}$Τ$\text{}_{2}$($\text{}^{4}$G) → $\text{}^{6}$A$\text{}_{1}$($\text{}^{6}$S) internal transitions of Mn$\text{}^{+2}$ within the 3d$\text{}^{5}$ state, respectively.

Opis:
2-dimensional arrays of Co- and Pd-clusters embedded in carbon films were fabricated by means of heat-treatment method of carboxylated cellulose films after the exchange of COOH-group protons by Co- and Pd-cations. The sizes of metal clusters within range 10 nm-1μm were obtained in dependence on the heat-treatment temperature. The dependencies of the resistance on temperature and magnetic field for the samples annealed at T=700ºC and 900ºC were measured. The R(T) dependencies both for carbon films with Co- and Pd-clusters can be fitted by expression R=R$\text{}_{0}$ exp(T$\text{}_{0}$/T)$\text{}^{1}\text{}^{/}\text{}^{n}$ inherent for variable-range hopping. In the whole range of investigated magnetic field and temperature magnetoresistance was negative and can be related to quantum interference in the variable range hopping transport along neighboring alternative paths.

Opis:
The use of different experimental methods (reflectivity, absorption, photoconductivity and cathodoluminescence) allowed us to confirm the existence of the deep donor-like state of iron and present allocation and properties of the iron states in Cd$\text{}_{1-y}$Fe$\text{}_{x}$Te (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.05) at 300 K and 77 K in the forbidden gap energy range. It was concluded that the increase in width of the forbidden gap with the change of temperature from 300 K to 77 K leads mainly to the rise of the energy distance between the donor-like iron state $\text{}^{5}$E and the bottom of the conduction band.

Opis:
Magnetotransport properties of the nanogranular $SnO_2$ films were invesigated. Non-linear current-voltage (I-V) characteristics were observed at low temperatures. The temperature dependence of the resistance and non-ohmic I-V curves can be well approximated by fluctuation-induced tunnelling model, indicating importance of the contacts barriers between $SnO_2$ grains. Magnetoresistance was measured within temperature range 2-15.3 K and could be consistent with the variable-range hopping conduction mechanism due to existence of localized states on the surface of $SnO_2$ grains.

Opis:
Using methods of physical material studies (scanning electron microscopy and micro X-ray spectral analysis), a study was carried out with focus on alteration of structure and phase composition in surface layers of Al-Si alloy (silumin АК10М2N) treated in electroexplosive alloying with a multiphase plasma jet formed in the process of aluminum foil explosion and carrying particles of Y2O3 weighted powder portion. It was revealed that a porous surface layer with non-homogeneously distributed alloying elements (silicon, yttrium) in it is formed in any conditions of electroexplosive alloying of silumin. Thickness of the modified layer is different, varying 50 to 160 μm, depending on the zone to be examined. The modified surface consists basically of Al, Si and Y. Yttrium in the modified layer is thought to be an indirect evidence of better physical and mechanical properties of the surface layer in comparison with the base material.

Materials of the Y-Ba-Cu-O (melt-textured $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-δ}$-based materials or MT-YBCO) and Mg-B-O ($MgB_{2}$-based materials) systems with high superconducting performance, which can be attained due to the formation of regularly distributed nanostructural defects and inhomogeneities in their structure can be effectively used in cryogenic technique, in particular in fault current limiters and electrical machines (electromotors, generators, pumps for liquid gases, etc.). The developed processes of high-temperature (900-800°C) oxygenation under elevated pressure (16 MPa) of MT-YBCO and high-pressure (2 GPa) synthesis of $MgB_{2}$-based materials allowed us to attain high superconductive (critical current densities, upper critical fields, fields of irreversibility, trapped magnetic fields) and mechanical (hardness, fracture toughness, Young modulus) characteristics. It has been shown that the effect of materials properties improvement in the case of MT-YBCO was attained due to the formation of high twin density (20-22 $μm^{-1}$), prevention of macrocracking and reduction (by a factor of 4.5) of microcrack density, and in the case of $MgB_{2}$-based materials due to the formation of oxygen-enriched as compared to the matrix phase fine-dispersed Mg-B-O inhomogeneities as well as inclusions of higher borides with near-$MgB_{12}$ stoichiometry in the Mg-B-O matrix (with 15-37 nm average grain sizes). The possibility is shown to obtain the rather high $T_{c}$ (37 K) and critical current densities in materials with $MgB_{12}$ matrix (with 95% of shielding fraction as calculated from the resistant curve).
