Lutein is present in the human retina and lens, where it plays a protective role. As lutein is associated with the lipid matrix of biomembranes, the role depends on its membrane location. Experimental studies predicted two orientations of lutein in a phosphatidylcholine (PC) bilayer: vertical and horizontal. Using a molecular dynamics simulation, we observed, in two different PC bilayers, both orientations of lutein, and in each bilayer, a single change from vertical to horizontal orientation or vice versa. Both orientations were stabilized by hydrogen bonding of lutein OH groups with mainly carbonyl but also phosphate oxygen atoms of PC.

Molecular dynamics simulations of 1,2-di-O-acyl-3-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-sn-glycerol (MGDG) and 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (DOPC) bilayers were carried out to compare the effect of the lipid head group's chemical structure on the dynamics and orientational order of the water molecules hydrating the bilayer. The effect of the bilayers on the diffusion of water is strong for the neighbouring water molecules i.e., those located not further than 4 Å from any bilayer atom. This is because the neighbouring water molecules are predominantly hydrogen bonded to the lipid oxygen atoms and their mobility is limited to a confined spatial volume. The choline group of DOPC and the galactose group of MGDG affect water diffusion less than the polar groups located deeper in the bilayer interface, and similarly. The latter is an unexpected result since interactions of water with these groups have a vastly different origin. The least affected by the bilayer lipids is the lateral diffusion of unbound water in the bilayer plane (x,y-plane) - it is because the diffusion is not confined by the periodic boundary conditions, whereas that perpendicular to the plane is. Interactions of water molecules with lipid groups also enforce certain orientations of water dipole moments. The profile of an average water orientation along the bilayer normal for the MGDG bilayer differs from that for the DOPC bilayer. In the DOPC bilayer, the ordering effect of the lipid head groups extends further into the water phase than in the MGDG bilayer, whereas inside the bilayer/water interface, ordering of the water dipoles in the MGDG bilayer is higher. It is possible that differences in the profiles of an average water orientation across the bilayer in the DOPC and MGDG bilayers are responsible for differences in the lateral pressure profiles of these bilayers.

Celem artykułu jest zbadanie postrzegania i wykorzystania czasu wolnego w kontekście aktywności fizycznej młodzieży na przykładzie uczniów klas IV–VI szkoły podstawowej w Strzebiniu. Badanie objęło 67 osób: 35 dziewczynki i 32 chłopców. Czas wolny odgrywa w ich dniu ważną rolę. Spędzają go zwykle w towarzystwie rodziny. Najczęściej wykorzystują go do rekreacji fizycznej, także w przypadku zajęć pozalekcyjnych. Większość respondentów realizuje w czasie wolnym swoje zainteresowania.
The purpose of the article is to investigate the perception and usage of spare time in the context of physical activity among young people on the example of 4–6 class pupils from the primary school in Strzebiń. In total, 67 persons (35 girls and 32 boys) were questioned. Spare time plays an important role in their lives. Mostly, they spend it together with their families. Most often, spare time is filled with physical recreation, also in the case of extra-curricular activities at school. The majority of the respondents follow their hobbies in their spare time.

Krótkie wprowadzenie w kontekst formalno-prawny przedsięwzięcia jest pretekstem do przyjrzenia się funkcjonowaniu tej oferty w kontekście edukacyjnym, zwłaszcza uwzględniając ofertę Dolnego Śląska.
The article id dedicated to the phenomenon of the pedagogical farms and its importance in the tourism and the preservation of the rural environment especially its cultural aspect. The first part is a kind of short literature review, a presentation of the role of the rural cultural heritage both material and non-material in the development of the tourism in the rural environment. Also the function of the preservation of the heritage is considered. One of the most convenient ways do achieve this goal is the idea of the pedagogical farms. This kind of didactic product exists also in Poland. Next part of the topic is dedicated to detailed description of the idea and its implementation in our country. The technical and legal environment of its creation and functioning together with its rather short history is described. The main focus is on the part related to the practical lessons and its possible impact on the development of tourist offer based on this issue. The educational part and the way of its implementation in the pedagogical farms on the example of Lower Silesia as the most equipped region in this phenomenon is presented in detail.

Artykuł prezentuje rolę edukacji w rozwoju turystyki winiarskiej w regionie. Krótkie wprowadzenie w problematykę enoturystyki prezentuje jeden z ważniejszych elementów szerszego zjawiska, jakim jest turystyka kulinarna, kojarzonej jednoznacznie z produktem jakości. Rolę edukacji w kształtowaniu tego zjawiska zbadano na bazie dwóch aspektów: uwarunkowań rozwoju produktu enoturystycznego w kontekście zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz profilu enoturysty jako odbiorcy tegoż produktu. W pierwszym wypadku poddano analizie założenia Europejskiej Karty Enoturystycznej, wskazując na istotne dla edukacji elementy, w drugim zaprezentowano profil turysty odwiedzającego region winiarski, uwzględniając poziom jego wyedukowania w kwestii wiodącego waloru, jakim jest wino.
The article presents the role of the education in the development of wine tourism in the region. Short introduction into the field of enotourism presents one of the most important element of the wider phenomenon – culinary tourism associated directly with the product of the quality. The role of the education in the formation of the wine tourism was investigated in two different aspects: the conditions of the wine tourism product in the context of the sustainable development and the profile of the enotourist as the receiver of such product. In the first case the assumptions of the European Cart of Enotourism pointing the most important elements for the education, in the second – the profile of the tourist visiting the wine region was presented together with his level of knowledge concerning the leading value – the wine.

We investigate two approaches to exploring environmental concern in cross-national, big datasets. It is widely believed that environmental concern encompasses at least two components: the cognitive component, i.e. the recognition of environmental threats, and the conative component, i.e. the willingness to do something about them. Previous research examining the International Social Survey Programme Environmental Module used either one general factor linked to environmental concern (Franzen & Vogl, 2013) or two independent factors (Marquart-Pyatt, 2012) to measure the cognitive and connotative factors separately. In the present work we used a multi-group confirmatory factor analysis to examine both approaches. Our results indicate that treating both factors separately was valid for cross-country comparisons. Measuring environmental concern with one factor, however, was not consistent across countries. We conclude by addressing the consequences of our results pertaining to research and policy-making.
W pracy badaliśmy dwa podejścia do mierzenia postaw prośrodowiskowych w dużych, międzynarodowych zbiorach danych. W badaniach nad postawami prośrodowiskowymi zazwyczaj uwzględnia się przynajmniej dwie składowe: poznawczą, związaną ze świadomością istnienia zagrożeń środowiskowych oraz intencyjną, związaną z gotowością zaangażowania się w działania prośrodowiskowe. W badaniach wykorzystujących dane z Międzynarodowego Programu Sondaży Społecznych stosuje się jedno z dwóch podejść do pomiaru postaw prośrodowiskowych: model jednoczynnikowy, w którym składowa poznawcza i intencyjna traktowane są jako należące do jednego czynnika (Franzen & Vogl, 2013) albo dwuczynnikowy, w którym obydwie składowe analizowane są osobno (Marquart-Pyatt, 2012). W pracy zastosowaliśmy wielogrupową konfirmacyjną analizę czynnikową w celu zbadania, który z dwóch modeli jest stabilny w porównaniach międzynarodowych. Nasze wyniki wskazują, że tylko model dwuczynnikowy jest stabilny między krajami, w związku z czym spełnia założenia miary używanej w porównaniach międzynarodowych. W pracy przedstawiamy niektóre konsekwencje zastosowania modelu dwuczynnikowego zamiast jednoczynnikowego dla badań nad postawami prośrodowiskowymi oraz omawiamy otrzymane rezultaty w odniesieniu do polityki prośrodowiskowej.

The aim of the paper is to show forms of tourist activities of the school youth in the context of traveling with parents as an alternative to filling their free time with new technologies. Tourist activity of children in the 21st century was indicated, in the era of the virtual world, the family crisis and the intensification of social pathologies. Modern society pays great attention to new technologies, and school-age children are conversing through communicators, instead of having a direct conversation. A great role in encouraging children and young people to make contacts can be played by tourism, which focuses on communing with nature and cultural heritage as well as learning about new places and cultures.
Celem artykułu jest ukazanie form aktywności turystycznej młodzieży szkolnej w kontekście podróży z rodzicami jako alternatywy dla zapełniania czasu wolnego nowymi technologiami. Wskazano aktywność turystyczną dzieci w XXI w. w dobie świata wirtualnego, kryzysu rodziny i nasilenia się patologii społecznych. Nowoczesne społeczeństwo przykłada dużą uwagę do nowych technologii, a dzieci w wieku szkolnym, zamiast prowadzić bezpośrednią rozmowę, konwersują przez komunikatory. Dużą rolę w zachęcaniu dzieci i młodzieży do kontaktów może odegrać turystyka, która koncentruje się na obcowaniu z naturą i dziedzictwem kulturowym oraz poznawaniu nowych miejsc i kultur.

Artykuł prezentuje wybrane uwarunkowania funkcji edukacyjnej turystyki senioralnej w oparciu o analizę badań przeprowadzonych w grupie seniorów z Dolnego Śląska. Określono główne funkcje turystyki, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem funkcji edukacyjnej i poznawczej oraz kształtowania postaw. W oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu zdefiniowano zarówno grupę seniorów, jak i turystkę senioralną w kontekście jej uczestników, motywacji, potrzeb, sezonu itp. Wskazano na preferowane formy wypoczynku turystycznego, scharakteryzowano główne motywacje, sposób podróżowania, długość podróży i jej najistotniejsze cele. Zwrócono uwagę na sytuację materialną seniorów w powiązaniu z subiektywnym jej postrzeganiem, która wywiera ważny wpływ na skłonność do podejmowania aktywności turystycznej.
The paper presents chosen conditions of the educational function of senior tourism on the basis of research performed among a group of seniors from Lower Silesia. The main functions of tourism were indicated, with special emphasis on the educational and cognitive functions, as well as shaping attitudes. In the context of the subject literature, both the group of seniors and senior tourism were defined within the framework of the participants, motivations, needs, season, etc. The preferred forms of tourist recreation were described; the main motives, ways of traveling, journey length, and its most significant aims were characterized. The authors paid attention to the material status of seniors as bound with its subjective perception, which exerts a considerable influence on the inclination to undertake tourist activity.
