     Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie zagadnienia politycznego cyklu koniunkturalnego (PCK) oraz zaprezentowanie najnowszej literatury dotyczącej tej problematyki. Temat ten, w Polsce mało popularny, doczekał się szerokich opracowań obejmujących niemal wszystkie obszary życia gospodarczego.  Zagadnienie PCK jest szczególnie ciekawe w kontekście bieżącej sytuacji politycznej Europy - postępującej integracji krajów Unii Europejskiej oraz fali problemów finansowych, jakie dotknęły państwa, które do tej pory uchodziły za stabilne ekonomicznie.
    The purpose of this article is to present the issue of the political business cycle (PBC), and present the most recent literature on this subject. This theme, very popular in Poland, lived in extensive studies covering almost all areas of the economy. PBC issue is particularly interesting in the context of the current political situation in Europe - a progressive integration of the countries of the European Union and the wave of financial problems that affected the state, which has so far been regarded as economically stable.

    The basis of the analysis is the anonymous publication Prayer for the preservation of purity, dated back to the second half of the 18th century. Academic reflection in the article focuses on the text indicated in the title, bulleted warnings, regarding benefits and methods of maintaining purity, the dangers which a virtuous lady should be wary of and also prayers to Mary, Jesus, and the saints, at the text’s conclusion. The aims of the analysis are to characterize the composition, find its purpose, and the elements it contains relating to the catechism, admonition and the bill of conscience. Discussion of the method of realization of a model of prayer is especially relevant for concrete, sociologically defined group of recipients. Contemporary eschatological perceptions and realities of the environment (salon flirtation, provocative dress) are cited as part of the context for the academic analysis. The investigation is completed with remarks on the relationship of the discussed text with warnings on maintaining the virtue of purity, issued by the Carmelite Jakub Kulczycki (1796).
    Podstawą rozważań podjętych w rozprawie jest anonimowy druk Modlitwa o zachowanie czystości, datowany na drugą połowę XVIII wieku. Refleksją badawczą objęte są: tekst wskazany w tytułowej formule edycji, wypunktowane przestrogi, dotyczące pożytków i sposobów zachowania czystości oraz a także niebezpieczeństw, których powinna wystrzegać się cnotliwa panna, a także zamieszczone na końcu modlitwy do Maryi, Jezusa i świętych. Podjęte rozważania mają na celu charakterystykę kompozycji i przeznaczenia tego zbioru, a także zawartych w nim elementów, znamiennych dla katechizmu, parenezy i rachunku sumienia. Szczególnie istotne jest omówienie sposobu realizacji wzorca gatunkowego modlitwy przeznaczonej dla konkretnego, socjologicznie określonego kręgu odbiorców. Na potrzeby podjętych rozważań przywołane są również informacje na temat ówczesnych wyobrażeń eschatologicznych oraz realiów środowiskowych (salonowy flirt, wyzywający ubiór). Całości dociekań dopełniają uwagi dotyczące związków omawianego druku z przestrogami o zachowaniu cnoty czystości, wydanymi przez karmelitę Jakuba Kulczyckiego (1796).

      The paper is devoted to poetic prayer songs of the Enlightenment, which contain references to the work and the wider circle of relationships as well as values and feelings of the individual. The considerations are focused on the analysis undertaken by the authors who concentrate on the social changes taking place in the late eighteenth century. The basic research tasks include, among other things, describing the role of poetic prayers in complex human relationships in the context of communication theory as well as genre characteristics. The main aim of the paper is to introduce the meaning and the understanding of prayer as an important part of human life that is placed in the contemporary everyday social rhythm.

    The article is an edition of an anonymous print from the second half of XVIII century: Przywileje dam mężatek niemieckim językiem pisane, dla powszechnej zabawy na polski przełożone i do druku podane w tym roku with its essential introduction. The author focused on the literary and socio – moral context that was important for the work to be created. Moreover, the author framed the possible circle of an unknown artist inspiration and she established the direct text model that is a picaresque work titled Sejm białogłowski. While analysing, the author paid attention to the similarities and differences between the texts. She also proved that at the end of XVIII century, despite new circumstances and socio‑moral infuences. the picaresques works arose interest of contemporary writers and became an artistic inspiration for them.

    The origin of the Piast dynasty is a matter of lively discussions and disputes. At least a few controversial hypotheses exist, but their credibility is difficult to assess due to the scarcity of written as well as material sources, especially from the time of Polish state formation. Life sciences, however, can support history and archeology. Application of genetic tests, used earlier mainly in forensic laboratories, enabled identification of the remains of King Richard III, the Romanov dynasty members and Nicolaus Copernicus. Contemporary DNA studies, based on next generation DNA sequencing, outreach the narrow area of known markers such as mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and selected regions of Y chromosome. Although ancient DNA (aDNA), extracted from remains, is usually highly degraded and contaminated with genetic material of microorganisms, there are methods which allow for the analysis of such material and retrieval of information about origin, kinship and some phenotypic features of an individual. Genetic studies of the Piast dynasty, a subject of our research project, have to deal with numerous difficulties. In or der to gain access to bone samples, we need to meet a number of formal requirements. Moreover, despite the existence of available abundant documentation on the Piast burials, the actual situation is not always consistent with the written sources. Our first experiences show how difficult it is to localize the remains, identify them and extract DNA of sufficient quality.

    The aim of this work is to examine the possibility of using acupuncture treatment as a way of therapeutic tourism. The first chapter explains what acupuncture is and when it has been introduced at first. The history of acupuncture treatment is described, starting with a description of its earliest forms thousands years ago, followed by an explanation of its development and its particular methods nowadays. The second chapter describes several types of acupuncture: thermopuncture, auriculotherapy, acupressure, electropuncture and reflexotherapy. All these methods are now used in health resorts and medical SPA services all over the world. The third chapter presents some examples of acupuncture treatment used in Lithuania and Czech Republic, as well, as in Poland. Some of them are presented as basic information of the medical SPA services.

    INTRODUCTION Childbirth is one of the most important events in a partnership. It influences not only the family relationship, but also the sex life of the partners. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study group consisted of 106 women (age 21–43) and 75 men (age 26–50). Most of those questioned live in a city, are employed, have higher and secondary education. 48% men and 45% women participated in family delivery, the rest participated in traditional childbirth. RESULTS Both the women and men had, independent of the delivery form, greater sexual activity before pregnancy. Women in comparison to men declared a lower level of sexual satisfaction after childbirth. Women more often declared that their sexual activity was disturbed after childbirth. Men claimed that they did not have any problems with sexual desire before or after their partner’s pregnancy, but 1/3 declared that their partners had problems with desire. CONCLUSIONS The form of delivery does not affect the stages of sexual life. Subjective assessment of sexual satisfaction among women, regardless of the type of labor, is lower than that of men. The level of sexual satisfaction is lower for men accompanying their partners during birth.
    WSTĘP Poród jest jednym z najważniejszych momentów w związkach partnerskich. Wpływa on na relacje wewnątrzrodzinne, a także na pożycie seksualne partnerów. MATERIAŁ I METODY Badaniem ankietowym objęto grupę 106 kobiet (K) w wieku 21–43 lat (mediana 32) oraz 75 mężczyzn (M) w wieku 26–50 lat (mediana 35). W większości byli to mieszkańcy miast, pracujący, z wyższym i średnim wykształceniem. Narzędziem badawczym był autorski kwestionariusz. W porodzie rodzinnym uczestniczyło 48% mężczyzn i 45% kobiet, pozostali w porodach tradycyjnych. Analizy wyników badania dokonano w programie Statistica 7,0 . W Y N I K I Zarówno mężczyźni, jak i kobiety, niezależnie od rodzaju porodu wykazują większą aktywność seksualną przed okresem ciąży kobiety. Kobiety prawie dwukrotnie częściej niż mężczyzni oceniają swój poziom satysfakcji ze współżycia po porodzie jako niższy. Kobiety znacznie częściej deklarowały występowanie u siebie zaburzeń poszczególnych etapów współżycia po ciąży niż przed nią. Mężczyźni twierdzili, że nie występowały u nich zaburzenia pożądania seksualnego przed ciążą partnerki ani po niej, ale pon ad 1/3 mężczyzn oceniła, że ich partnerki mają zaburzenia pożądania seksualnego po ciąży. W N I O S K I Rodzaj porodu nie wpływa na etapy życia seksualnego . Subiektywna ocena satysfakcji ze współżycia seksualnego wśród kobiet, niezależnie od rodzaju porodu, jest niższa niż wśród mężczyzn. Poziom odczuwanej satysfakcji ze współżycia wśród mężczyzn obecnych przy porodzie jest niższy, gdy mężczyźni znajdowali się przy boku rodzącej kobiety.

    Graves' (GD) hyperthyroidism induces accelerated bone turnover that leads to decreased bone mineral density (BMD). The role of the VDR gene in predisposition to primary osteoporosis has been recognized. Recent studies show associations between the VDR gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to autoimmune diseases. Here we analyzed if VDR gene polymorphisms: BsmI, ApaI, TaqI, and FokI may predispose women with Graves' hyperthyroidism to BMD reduction or to disease development. The subjects were 75 premenopausal female Polish patients with GD and 163 healthy women. The genotyping was performed by the use of the restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (RFLP). We studied the association of the VDR polymorphisms and their haplotypes with patients' BMD and also SNPs and haplotypes association with Graves' disease. We found a strong linkage disequilibrium for the BsmI, ApaI, and TaqI polymorphims that formed three most frequent haplotypes in Graves' women: baT (47.9%), BAt (34.9%), and bAT (16.4%). We did not show statistically significant association of analyzed VDR polymorphisms or haplotypes with decreased bone mineral density in Graves' patients. However, the presence of F allele had a weak tendency to be associated with Graves' disease (with OR=1.93; 95% CI: 0.97-3.84; p=0.058). In conclusion: VDR gene polymorphisms do not predict the risk of decreased BMD in Polish women with Graves'. It may be speculated that the F allele carriers of the VDR-FokI polymorphism are predisposed to Graves' disease development.
